i do use this app but it seems like a dysfunctional grab bag of ideas you look up a word and instead of being given a primary meaning followed by alternate meanings and phrases using the word you get dumped onto a page with various meanings and phrases it is sometimes hard to find the primary meaning i find that Google Translate works better as a basic Hungarian dictionary So i appreciate that this app has a direct access page to Google s Hungarian translate feature However I find that it will occasionally make it impossible for me to use even this otherwise freely available service by interrupting my session with requests that i link the app to my Facebook account so i dunno Maybe I ve not yet figured out the great way to use this app but it seems like it needs refinement         weird app supineny

Having been in love if languages and how they are constructed I am in awe of the ability to hear the correct way to pronounce the words I am slowly working my way through the six languages I have so far and will be delighted to make my way through more as I have the money and time                     Thank you so much iPadAdmirer

Updated review May 2016 after years of using this line of dictionaries I only just discovered their very greatest and most unique feature It must have been added to the app along the way while I was asleep This feature allows the user to export the history of the words he has looked up as a text file or cvs file and email i complete with definitions So you can load your whole vocabulary into excel Sheer brilliance I own dozens of expensive dictionary apps and only this brand has this marvelous capability Bravissimo Our family owns five dictionaries by Bitknights and we find them better than any produced by other companies including ones that cost 10 times as much Now they ve added audio Hungarian pronunciation really useful                     Great like all the Bitknights dictionaries Dave McA

It s really hard to find a Hungarian dictionary Since I m studying Hungarian this has been a lifesaver It could benefit from some basic words for example there s no photography as well as conjugation for verbs but otherwise it s very nice                 Very Nice Jenni4200

This dictionary is basically identical to the Sztaki Szotar available online Nice to have on hand Pretty good but each English word can sometimes have dozens of Hungarian words not helpful when you are trying to figure out which to use                 Comprehensive but too broad Learning magyarul

In general it s not a bad app but my biggest complaint is that for many words and expressions it gives a very colloquial British I assume translation that we in the US do not understand at all and thus are not helped by it I would think they would give a more direct translation of these expressions as well so that we could actually make use of them For instance I just saw in a lesson podcast the use of the kaja translated there as food I knew this is not the usual word for food so I looked it up in this dictionary and it says tuck To us this means to tuck in your shirt or something like that But I looked in an English dictionary and saw that tuck is the British version of our grub or chow That is only one example out of many I am always running across Maybe someone should consider making a dictionary for American usage             Not up to par sima278

If you already speak some Hungarian the translations are very useful If not you will probably be a little lost as there are many variants presented After a complete UI overhaul the app is now very useful The only real problems are First the dictionary lacks entries for a lot of common words The developer should really take the time to check the database against a real dictionary and fill in the missing words Second the multiple matches are not ordered in a sane way If you are not careful you could end up with a hovercraft full of eels The most direct translation should always come first euphemisms last and risqu entries should be flagged as such Finally usage examples would be helpful This is a good tool for intermediate speakers of Hungarian or English who are fluent in the other language                 Good new UI dictionary still a bit weak Eurofrosty

This is a disappointing app or a very misleading one Bought the original app but no voice option bought the voice and it pronounces English words now not Hungarian ones Separate for buying voice and they probably want me to buy the Hungarian pronounciation app Rip off     Travelling to Buda and Pest Ekenroc

I m in Hungary now and this dictionary has been marginally helpful It needs a couple of things phonetic spelling this is a difficult language and pronunciation is critical I can see the words but need to know how to say them a verbal component I would gladly pay extra to hear words pronounced more words I came across a number of words it couldn t translate e g I want a one way ticket             Marginally good dictionary Colo fan
