Hurricane HD - Tracking Hurricanes on your iPad, one storm at a time Hurricane HD Now Includes The National Hurricane Center Video Feed in the News 2010 Macworld Awards Hurricane HD 4 out of 5 ...
Im a tropical cyclone meteorologist with 35 years professional experience This app has some of the best graphics in this genre but some of the worst organization and presentation of important technical information Look at other options     Sexy Graphics Bad Technical Info
Purchased last year because it has one of the best graphics of the bunch While tracking tropical storm Erica early on it was incorrectly using the same projected track as the previous storm In addition I see a white bar that runs around the globe around the state of Florida that obscures the view One of the tracks miss located the storm back to Africa which was corrected hours later Dont mess up a great app thanks           Whats up
Easy to use Easy to read                 Great
Have been using Hurricane andor Hurricane HD for several years and it continually delivers the information I use to determine what steps to take in protecting my boat without subjecting myself to the hype generated by the media                 My go to app for hurricane weather events
I was HIGHLY surprised that this application is NOT made for both iPad and iPhone Instead the iPhone app is called Hurricane PRO For what reason I dont know Except they are maximizing their profit by charging for it twice However the iPad app seems to be very good Not sure why they accept photos of the aftermath of Hurricanes and storms in local areas in the Social panel I want information about storms in the areas I have an interest in but get enough video and photos of storms in other areas from TV and internet news ONE other major gripe I paid for this app on my iPad Generally that means NO ADS However there are ads for their other apps glaringly obvious and chewing up screen real estate I SAW their other apps featured at the bottom of the page in the iTunes store If there was anything in there of interest to me I would have bought it there I dont like selfpromotion of other stuff in an app Ive PAID for                 Great app but NOT Universal
This app does not have the meaty info like weather underground computer models etc dont buy needs work        not that good
I live in South Florida and use this as my go to app during hurricane season The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is that the 2012 season has already started but the app is not yet updated and ready We have already had named storms with landfall that were unreported Mother Nature has no sympathy for a late development cycle              Great When Up to Date
5 stars when you add Retina support for the iPad              Great
Every 5 minutes it Crashes then when i went back it Crashes in 1 second What a shame for kitty code But the rest is Good So i give you 3 stars           Crashes
Definitely the best Hurricane app Ive used                 Great
I love this app                 Wow
I dont rate many Apps much less write reviews But if you are interested in keeping up with whats going on in the tropics this is the App to get Beautiful graphics video analysis etc Do get this one you wont regret it                 The Greatest
This app used to be good but is no longer I live in the Florida Keys so good information about hurricane formation and track is vital from June through November Previously this app used to show waves coming off the coast of Africa No longer For the Atlantic hurricane coverage the wave must become a tropical depression to be included here Too late for us living here The forecasted track is buried under multiple tabs and is now tiny unable to be made full screen If the designers lived in a hurricane prone area they would make these changes I will be deleting this from my iPad        Current revisions makes this app useless
Good app for track hurricanes                 Great app
Cannot open since the update Crashes immediately I deleted and downloaded again Same result     Cannot open Crashes on open
5 stars to 1 star Unsupported Ipad version I was initially pleased with the ipad version especially in 2011 Irene and iin midst of Sandy on NJ shore 2012 see my original 5 star in 2012 below So pleased I also bought iphone pro version In 2013 I found Phone is supported ipad is not It was truly helpful realtime and to look back at Atlantic storm history Problem now is no history Those of you wanting 2012 hurricane history to track real time hurricanes coming in vs the past ie to see if any crazy paths like Sandy might be ahead please note Sandy and the whole hurricane season 2012 is missing on the ipad version by developers choice while the iphone hurrican pro version has the complete history At least 6 email requests in correspondance with the developers have gone to the monthly since January 2013 to add 2012 season missing from ipad but already on iphone the short response is go away we know 2012 history is still not there in the last couple months of 2013 hurricane season and its now September Leaves one wondering what else is left out as well Reducing to 1 star for ipad version Unsupported My original 5 star post Oct 2011 I write as we await arrival of Sandy with a home on the ocean Our lives and our home depend on advance information to allow packup time and prep I looked thru all weather and hurricane specific apps and chose this one along with WeatherPro HD Thanks to them We have been days ahead of even localstate govt news which has hyped the story of Sandy more than provided useful information such as progress windwater htall NOAA updated on the minute when NOAA did and well before the localstate govt dog and pony show along with potential landfall tracking Stop looking Buy this now if you liveworkhave loved ones in an area affected by Hurricanes and when time is a matter of life and death If I could give 10 stars I would You only control what you can control in situtations like this all you who have been through having to move familyfoodbelongings when days and hours make the difference know how critical advance accurate information can matter Really this is the one to have     Unsupported Left to dieif anything buy iphone pro version not ipad HD
It crashes on my iPad II no problem with previous versions     Crashes
Take the myriad of available Internet data involving hurricane tracking put it together in a single cohesive package and you have Hurricane HD I dont live in Florida but on the New England coast so hurricanes are of great interest here I wont go into the various displays The Apple store does that best Suffice it to say they are all covered from tropical depressions and upward As with most complex presentations there is a learning curve Indeed I dont always know what I am looking at Facebook presentations are a bit numerous 10 or more at a time Push notifications are available To the folks at Kitty Code congratulations and thanks for an application that is all that it should be The test of a good application is does it do what it purports to do This one does                 Excellent well presented package
I used it last year during hurricane season Very impressive good work                 Really good
Since upgrading to v23 app crashes Im running iOS 71 on an iPad Air Hurricaine HD was great for the last few years        Upgrade has made app unstable
Been using this for years Easy to understand                 Reliable
The updates on tropical weather arent current Its nearly 5pm when another update is due and I still have the 11 am update even after refreshing Meaning the 2pm update isnt on there site yet Not good when you have a hurricane bearing down on you I also keep getting message about a storm that ended in June Its the end of July now but it sends me warnings that the June storm is about to make landfall I wouldnt bother to download this let alone pay for it     Not current
What more can you ask I downloaded for Irene and was taken with its beauty Then I was pleasantly surprised at the quantity of info Now it is sending me polite concise updates on upcoming storms This is the rare app that exceeds my expectations Thank you                 Great info presented beautifully
Im looking at the data this app is showing but a hurricane in the southwest pacific cant be viewed because of a little control panel that cant be moved Its in the way but in the title bar thats takes up about 20 of the whole screen the designer apparently thought it would be more important to put HD HURRICANE Nothing but wasted space doesnt the designer realize that we know its a hurricane tracking app OK yes it provides good data fast but where is the designers egoits taking up 20 of the screen 2 stars until the title bar is MAJOR shrunk        Big title crowded info panel
And I should know I have tried them all to find one with a user friendly interface that just works I missed the settings button forever somehowduh me now I have push notifications something I had assumed maybe the app did not provide Just buy it you wont need another hurricane app installed ever                 The Best Hurricane App Out There
This app is fine if all you want to do is track where the storm is located or has been Unfortunately the forecast features are are difficult to use I want to know quickly where the storm is going with the greatest probability There is alot of random text discussion and the forecast models are buried Initially got the iPhone version of this app which is much better        Difficult to navigate
This is one of 5 of the best apps I have Hands down Ive had it for years on my iPhone This HD version just takes the cake Developers Have you noticed the date in top right hand corner It still says 2011                 Hurricane HD
I live in Florida and am using it to track Debby which is listed on their menu of hurricanes Im not having any of the problems mentioned by the person in the first review Ive been using Hurricane HD for over a year and have found it to be extremely helpful Yes you can find most of the same info on NOAAs website and several others but here it is all in one place You can also go back and see the track of past hurricanes When I transferred all my aps over to my iPad3 I had a minor issue and contacted support late on a Sunday evening and got an answer back within a half hour I reinstalled the ap and it now works perfectly I especially like how easy it is to switch between a conventional street map satellite and hybrid map I cant imagine what else anyone could wish for in a hurricane tracking program                 Great ap
But where is the 2011 storm data              Excellent App
Im trying to determine if Im about to be hit by a hurricane for first time since I downloaded the app I cant get advisories bulletins discussions etc I can see the tracking map but that sometimes is imprecise        Used to be dependable
I love your application I use it all the time during the active hurricane season It provides excellent graphics and all the views necessary to understand the potential impact of a storm The only complaint I have is that I cant set the location for tracking storm distance I would like to be able to identify my current location my home location when I am not there or my mothers location in Florida depending on the storm and its locationtrack This would make this app even more useful                 Would like stable locations
Great resource whats taking so long for iPad retina support though Waiting for the hurricane season to end           Liked it better before the new iPad
I have the iPhone version as well This app is fantastic and always updates immediately when changes occur even quicker than the Nhc site Loaded with everything you need to know worldwide A must have if you live in a hurricane zone                 Fantastic
A must if you live on the Gulf Coast                 Excellent
You have it in the iPhone version but not in the iPad that aside best Hurricane app ever                 Where is NOAA Radio
The application not only has a bunch of content but it delivers the content quickly and effectively The interface in my opinion is what makes this app so easy to use and appealing Get it now                 Best HurricaneStorm Watch App Available
I live in West Central Florida I use this app extensively during Hurricane season The app is well written full featured and intuitive                 Great app
This is the equivalent of the Crown weather site in app form All the different data souces in one place no navigating back and forth between websites Much better for viewing maps                 Liked the phone version enough to buy it for my iPad
This app was one of my favorites before the update What the hell happened it went from easy to use and very informative to dull and lacking information over night I expect a good apps to get better and never to go backwards and take features away Im deleting and finding a new an informative app to track hurricanes Sorry so harsh for the review but I went thru Katrina and lost everything and want and app to give me all the info I need This was a stellar app but it seems like its cutting corners and now dispensable time to delete        What the hell
Re some of the reviews I guess it depends on what you are looking for in the app I live in Florida on a barrier island on the Gulf Coast and what I want is basic information I want to know what storms are out there their project course wind speed timeline etc Basically I want to know if I need to prepare how much time I may have Im not a weather junkie and dont need extensive technical datathere are other sources for that For what I need this is the first place I go to see whats happening If this is what you need then this is a great app                 Use it constantly
Please fix the plot errors that are showing up in the Pacific along with the odd line that goes from east to west across the pacific Central America and Atlantic           Fix errors
First class high quality                 Jolly good display
Was looking for an app to track hurricanes Im not a fan of them by no means however with the resources available to keep you informed this app brings them altogether in one place Love the interface functionality the look and ease of use All the information you would need to track these weather beasts is right at your finger tips The HD is fantastic It was recommended from an article on the top weather apps This was rated the best and I must agree Worth the price                 Amazing
Just as good like hurricane tracker                 Tied with hurricane tracker
Excellent attractive graphics and access to many charts and diagrams Data is compiled and presented well This is my preferred app for hurricane data on the go Ive tried others but this ones the best                 Great for visuallyoriented people
The app crashes immediately after opening since the last update on iPad 4th gen Delete and reinstall did not fix the issue Please fix this it was working great before the update ProGoDawg     Failed Update
App crashes or doesnt open Worked for 3 minutes then crashed Reloaded app and it crashed nonstop Hurricanes approaching Hawaii and app is useless Looked like interesting data but if you cant fix the bugs quit selling it You just put people in danger as you cash in No reviews since no one was fooled into buying it     Useless app
Great app Very useful during Irene The distance from present position to forecast track is great for Floridians A miss is as good as a mile but a 50 mile miss on the correct side of a Cat 1 or 2 is better than sxx Almost A GREAT addition would be the ability to plot the distance from friends and family locations to plots along the track As Irene approached VA our families there loss power and Internet but we could still txt and for a while use land line phones to give them updates Being able to plot distance from their homes to the current eyewallwindspeed would have been very useful if not reassuring It also would be useful to do this on historical tracks knowing how much damage was caused at certain distances from the actual track of various Category storms                 Distance position
Love it                 MrOminous says buy this app
Great app provides most of info I need However sometimes when I try the cycle update the app crashes                 Hurricane hd
