The collection of bird pictures and calls has help us determine the exact bird in question The geographical features along with migration patterns is also another handy tool to narrow down a search I had no issues transferring my data from iPhone 5s to iPhone X                     Great Database Soccer Dad99
I haven t used anything like this before but I m very happy I tried this                     Pretty cool Szymon_Sz
I have been using iBJ since it came out Little by little it s functionality has been increased I will give it 5 stars once the developer adds iCloud sync so I can get all the sightings updated on my iPad Mac laptop and iPhone Another feature that I would like to have is to record the bird songs with the internal mic or an external mic Overall I highly recommend this app to login your bird sightings in North America May be some day this app may include Central and South America                 Great birding app febco
I use them all but I always come back to ibird and ibird journal Just get the ultimate and save yourself time You wiki get it eventually The recording of your life list with how you ID a bird makes this the best of All for my iPhone                     Get it Wes Mack
No auto sync across devices Dropbox backup a kludgy manual process No iCloud backup or sync at all It s been a while since the last update and you can tell this app needs some love     Really needs an update Mikezots
This app is great I use it everyday The fluidity of the app is nice The attention to detail is nice The only thing I see needing some improvement is a description or definition of the protocols in the advanced view                     Pretty awesome and fluid Cali redhead
I m brand new to birding and live the app It s pretty much what I was looking for a way to log bird sighting I love that I can add photos also and really like that it links to iBird I bought the bundle for 19 99 and feel it was a great bargain                 Great idea NMnightowl
I love this journal It is so easy to add quickly for each sighting and so easy to review your previous sightings                     Love this journal Lighthorse123
Every time I try to start a list by adding a bird the app tells me I have another activity open What activity Where No clue no documentation shows up when I google the error message text I just want to make lists of birds These programs have become too over worked if they are too obscure and complicated to use I m deleting it and I guess I ll keep using paper for listing birds I do not recommend this app as an adjunct to iBird     Doesn t work no documentation E.Scribo
I really appreciate this app for it simplicity and ease of use                     Great app Wolfpackkc
I have always been the kind of person who doesn t think he needs to keep a bird log As I have continued to bird and a few years have passed I have realized that my memory isn t big enough or good enough to keep a log of all the exciting birds I have seen There really is no reason to avoid keeping a bird log and it serves as an excellent scrapbook Very aesthetically pleasing and fun app                     Simple easy and convenient Kbird101
This is a great app when purchased as a bundle I love the journal feature with its advanced features I would like the search features to be a bit easier                     Great Mamabeitz
I enjoy using this app                 BizzzBirds nicknamesuk
This could be a great app It s not a great app in its current state This app is useless to me unless it can sync between my iPad and my iPhone This is an expensive app I would expect it to be able to sync seamlessly     It has to be able to sync Joe Alaska
Needs a lot of work as far as editing Just so frustrating Don t just take the money I spent but work on the app If I had know how hard it was to navigate I would ever have bought the app Now that you have take my money work on it please Then I will give you a higher rating         Stan Diamond Prairie
I have found this app to be much easier to use than the Audobon apps I m just a new amateur birder but it has really helped me                     Great App for the fledgling border bonedoc173
So far so good                 Great listing app Tonystarlight
A versatile app for keeping track of your bird sightings The one thing that would improve it would be iCloud integration and syncing across devices                 Good app for keeping track of sighting Silver Bill
I ve only been using the journal for about a week now So far it seems like a good app The only thing I don t like is that there aren t any pre made checklists available to use I spent a lot of time going back forth between apps websites to create a checklist of birds in my state In my opinion that would greatly improve this app Other than that it seems pretty good I plan to use it frequently             Seems good so far LilyLady7
Very useful for immediately being able to record an observation I would however like better syncing between various Apple devices I highly recommend this whole family of bird applications                     Love the convenience bonedoc173
Five stars this app sounds wonderful and it sounds as though many many people have dedicated a great deal of effort I m expecting a lot too                     High Hopes Zulaaa
This is a great app for what it is a basic birding journal It is not for pros and I understand the lack of syncing is a negative for some I carry my iPhone with me all the time and don t go on birding safaris I just journal them as I see them It is a great feature to add on to iBird Ultimate                 Great basic bird journal Benedikt Beuern
I am a huge iBird fan having purchased the whole family of products The lack of either icloud syncing the gold standard or Dropbox syncing acceptable is a huge problem for me in the journal product I am constantly moving between devices during the day and want to be able to update lists and checklists from any device This app only allows manual backup and restore from Dropbox Please if you are going to do Dropbox do it like 1Password and actively sync the content Users have been requesting syncing for several years Please implement ASAP         Lack of syncing between devices serious flaw LouiseLovesApps
Like the product Especially the GPS features List syncing is a little odd but over all a must on the iPhone                 A great addition Vitof
Not user friendly Maps location does not find common areas No opportunity to load your own pictures     Horrible don t waste money Mercedes0216
Great idea but you have to love bugs to fully enjoy it Freezes when changing date or location Bummer         Wish it weren t buggy Pdxbirds
Love the app but wish it linked to the other iBird apps for info if you own them                     Great for keeping lists OC Barry
If you keep bird observations this is the App for you                     Get this App Scarab629
Unable to sync btw iPhone iPad big disappointment since ibird pro has this Suspect rushed to release way too soon         No sync btw devices denied1313
I m a serous birder who was disappointed with recording sightings as a note or comment within the species description I m happy with iBird Journal and would gladly make the purchase again                     Worth the cost to a serious birder wanaku
This app is a perfect companion to ibird It allows me to keep track of what I find and where I found it                     Perfect companion Chance7620
I had really hoped that this would be seamless I want my money back I will never use it Janet C prochazka     Doesn t sync iPhone iPad AuntFlora
So far I ve found this to be an incredibly useful app I love that it links directly to the iBird app regardless of version allowing you to look up data on the bird you are listing The main issue I ve run up against is more of an OS problem I think I want to Export my files to eBird but am unable to do so from my iPhone it won t let me select the file a problem I ve run into repeatedly with other programs as well So iJournal is currently exceeding my expectations                     Useful Time Saving Tool Isisunit
I like being able to quickly make note of a sighting without the process being too lumbering Also like the easy access to supplemental information if I need it                     Easy and Quick OJ Morgan
Expensive but well worth the for me I ve started bird lists before but never kept them updated due to misplacing them or just not having them when unexpectedly needed I ve tried a couple cheaper apps but they were much tougher to manipulate to what I wanted life list home list vacation list etc                     Practical and Easy to Use Lunkerspud
Love the way the app ties into iJournal                 IBird U RobStans
I ve looked at all the apps designed for keeping track of your bird observations and this is hands down the best It offers regular lists you make on the fly as your encounter new birds and Checklist type lists which you create ahead of time and check off the species as you observe them Designed to be a companion to the publishers iBird field guide apps                     Best Listing App naturefaith
Am loving this app to help with keeping up with watching the backyard birds Lots of fun App is easy to use though it takes a bit if focus to get the hang of it              Great addition to bird observing
Simple and sleek way to log bird sightings Nice integration with iBird Needs more settings especially the ability to auto fill gps location Location is awkward and time consuming now when logging multiple sightings from same place              Great and could be better
I so love this app and the corresponding journal Worth the money                 Phenomenal tool
Love the way the app ties into iJournal              IBird U
This app is a perfect companion to ibird It allows me to keep track of what I find and where I found it                 Perfect companion
This is a great app It is easy to use and works well with iBird Pro on the iPad or iPhone You can also use it easily with the Waites Guide to Birds of America It readily saves a csv file that can be uploaded to eBird The details and option of checkbox link make the journal a better functional app than the current eBird integration in the Audobon Bird app The two things I would like to see added are serviceable and easy syncing view eBird statistics and recent sightings Other than that it is another 5 star app from Mitch Waite his group              1 For No iPad Sync
I have iBird Pro and this is a wonderful addition for easy notation and creation of a life list Couldnt be happier for my use                 Better than expected
Im pretty tech savvy But this app is a STRUGGLE to use especially in the field I do not want to fight to figure out how to make a list and add bird sightings to the list The wonderful options that the journal is supposed to make available convinced me to buy the app Hopefully others will have more success     Not for me
So far Ive found this to be an incredibly useful app I love that it links directly to the iBird app regardless of version allowing you to look up data on the bird you are listing The main issue Ive run up against is more of an OS problem I think I want to Export my files to eBird but am unable to do so from my iPhone it wont let me select the file a problem Ive run into repeatedly with other programs as well So iJournal is currently exceeding my expectations                 Useful Time Saving Tool
The app STILL hasnt been fixed so that it doesnt crash when trying to delete locations I know you have known about this since December and there is no excuse that it is still not functioning I paid good money for this and expected a working product           Great but
Expensive but well worth the for me Ive started bird lists before but never kept them updated due to misplacing them or just not having them when unexpectedly needed Ive tried a couple cheaper apps but they were much tougher to manipulate to what I wanted life list home list vacation list etc                 Practical and Easy to Use
Good features overall Like how easy it is to add birds observed Would really like it to keep a tally of overall different species on users list create a life list for app              Solid app
Works exactly as advertised highly recommended I use it 2 or 3 times a week                 Only bird lister you need
It didnt even occur to me it wouldnt have multiple device syncing I go between my iPhone and iPad and would make it 5 stars with syncing           Good app but
I like the convenience of identifying a bird in iBird then easily being able to tap journal to record it                 Convenient
The bird icon scroll is good As is being able to move map pin to exact sighting area But no way to enter multiple sighting areas for birds Map entry is slowshould be synced w Maps ability to give choices for areas being typed I was hoping for a real journallike feature the ability to add sighting locations type of habitat particulars such as understory types of vegetation and other pertinent info My wish list would be to be able to group birds by locale andor habitat seen in Ill hang on to this for a while in case it gets better but Ill probly stick w using a written journal     Disappointing too slow too confining
I love being able to ID a bird through ibird then one click to journal Sweet                 Seamless ID and Journaling
Love it                 Great
I love this app I have fifteen lists from birding trips and excursions And Im keeping a 2014 Listat 187 on March 31 I do wish it were faster with a step or two less to get my bird recorded but I believe it will happen Thanks very muchI wonder if there is a way to share the lists                 Terrific
App crashes when I try to delete a location No other complaints              cant delete location
The journal is very easy to use However it would be nice to be able to click on a sighted bird and add a new date Im trying to track when the marsh area near me has the most variety during the year Also it seems a little ridiculous that I cant automatically back up to iCloud and easily share the data between my iPhone and iPad           Good app but could use a couple tweaks
I use this app every day to track my observations                 Wouldnt be without it
Very disappointed in the investment If you pay 15 for an app you expect it to be full featured This app is a glorified Word table with very poor search function and limited information of the birds it does list I its defense it does claim that it interfaces well with other iBird products that offer better and more complete information but Im not spending more money for what I get for free Merlin Bird ID     Not worth the money
This app I is the best way for me to track my sightings I always have my phone along with this app                 The Best
This app is a great addition to iBird It was a bit tricky to get it to do what I wanted and an easier way to create checklists will be a welcome addition Overall it works fine easy to create eBird reports from my iPad on the road Thanks to Mitch and the gang that created it                 Handy app
Ive looked at all the apps designed for keeping track of your bird observations and this is hands down the best It offers regular lists you make on the fly as your encounter new birds and Checklist type lists which you create ahead of time and check off the species as you observe them Designed to be a companion to the publishers iBird field guide apps                 Best Listing App
I had really hoped that this would be seamless I want my money back I will never use it Janet C prochazka     Doesnt sync iPhone iPad
I enjoy this app I used to keep some sort of record of bird sitings by writing dates in my paper birding books This offers so much more especially how it is integrated with Ibird ID app so I can easily learn more I have a default list of Florida backyard birds and have added a new list of birds seen during recent Smoky Mountains 2013 vacation                 Katloader
I am a big fan of iBird Just started with the journal but no glitches so far                 So far really good App
Easy to use comprehensive and very powerful I love it A feature I would like to see is the ability to make a slideshow from only the birds on my Favorites list                 Excellent
Ive been waiting for this app for a year and it doesnt dissapoint                 As promised and works great
Why does this app assign street addresses to bird sitings Very difficult to change location of pin so I usually give up on entering sitings Seems to be a hugely capable app with basic data entry impediments     Location too complicated
First of all the journal is a top notch birding app all by itself That being said I gave it a generous two stars for the following reasons 1 There is a quite lengthy set if directions of how to use the import export tab with ebird it doesnt work 2 Support mentioned it has no plans to rectify the situation 3 I would not have bought this had I known the only way to get 15 years of observations from ebirdhas to be done manually GREAT        Be well aware
Its nearly impossible to enter a new location It defaults every time to an infinite loop over Apples address in Cupertino Very poor map integration        Its okay I guess
I love having my life list with me and in list form I have a yard list also which is also nice to have handy I wish however that the species list would default to last name not first or that you would have the option of setting it to last name so it would automatically appear that way each time without having to tap Last each time Overall though I am very happy with this app              Love the lists
I like being able to quickly make note of a sighting without the process being too lumbering Also like the easy access to supplemental information if I need it                 Easy and Quick
Best program to keep your lists Smooth integration with iBird Also good for watch lists                 Good program
Goes great with ibird pro Very useful and love how easy to use                 Great app
Deleted it Havent been able to delete a location and they refuse to fix it Wasted my money     Will be 5 stars after bug is fixed
Have really been enjoying this app and all it provides                 Great app
Totally new to bird ID NO trouble using the app Intuitive                 LOVE IT
The eBird csv import from Dropbox no longer works I just get a spinning wheel and nothing happens even after 10 minutes All of the manual importing and backing up is getting very old There is no iCloud support You cannot pick multiple locations on the map when performing a search you must use the list view which makes it very difficult Another annoyance is a lack of species variants and subspecies For instance inputting Darkeyed Junco gets you the normal info and picture of the bird However after importing my eBird data which was only possible on the previous app version I get a blank picture because the app doesnt recognize Darkeyed Junco Slatecolored This would have been a great app 5 or 6 years ago but now its archaic     Archaic
This is a great app and is worth its hype and 10 intro price but I hope the integration of Lists and Checklists will be the first major update Or at least create a way to view observations like a Lifelist similar to the brilliant Locations options              Great but Lifelist problem
Does just what I need Not for identification so I dont need the app to be lightening quick                 Perfect for tracking effort
Wish my iPhone and my iPad could share list and observations tho              Not bad
Makes it pretty easy to record what you see especially since it takes you to the database It would save time if you could just type the name of birds you know and have it autocomplete for things like Project Feederwatch It would also be nice if I could export to AviSys for my life list              Good bird recording
This app exceeded my expectations The listing capabilities are amazing If you love birding keeping track of your observations and seeing where you have birded over the years this is perfect for you I personally love the mapping feature showing the locations of all observations It has summarized my last 13 years of birding beautifully                 Fantastic app for birders
I like being able to ID a bird in iBird Pro and then go to Journal Setting locations is quirky and rather unintuitive and I wish that the Note and Tag field were available on the Basic form              Quirky but convenient
I am a beginning birder and I have found this app to be excellent for tracking your observations There is also the ability to export your observations to eBird cvs format and the import is simple A very useful app Update I have used this now on several bird walks checklists are great for this and for day to day observations I continue to be inpressed with what a good job it does and the integration with iBird Pro is wonderful              Great app for birding
Just what Ive been looking for Simple and easy to use Advanced features when you want to use them Very easy to add multiple sightings from the same location                 Great product
