well they icc really have the guys in the field backed up against the wall this is a necessary app for anyone that goes by the book unfortunately all books are 50 plus and non transferable to any other device not even iPhone support where I need the codes the most my phone is always in my pocket even when im walking in the rafters no highlighting or bookmarking capabilities either as im studying for the journeymans test it would be nice unfortunately I originally wasted 68 on the 2010 NYS plumbing codes on their site thinking a PDF is a PDF is a PDF nope the icc makes it extremely difficult and expensive to try to obtain copies of the code books that the guys in the field can actually afford and use make this app compatible with iPhone 4 and allow highlighting and bookmarking Ill give it more stars but honestly what other choice do we have ive been forced to purchase the 2010 NYS plumbing mechanical and fuel code books on this app sure theres a free website sponsored by NYSgov but its not usable in the field     no other choice no restore of purchases waste of lots of money
I have to take their word for it that it is PDF because it has absolutely no PDF functions You cannot highlight you cannot print You will likely forget what you were looking for before you find it The navigation is pathetic What a waste     WORTH 75 cents NOT 75 DOLLARS
This app is terrible When you buy one of the codes the file format is PDF so there is lots of opportunity for them to get it right But they didnt Here is what is wrong 1 The user interface is not user friendly When you open the app it opens to the store to show you all of the stuff that you can buy rather than showing you the stuff that you have bought To get to the codes that you have bought from them you have to hit the icon in the corner you cant guess by looking at it what it is going to do then select library the selecte View Details on one of the codes that you have bought and then hit the Read button Now isnt that nice 2 It doesnt remember where you are in a code Well it does for a while but if you leave the app closed for a while when you open it back up you have to go through that whole mess again and then you have to navigate back to where you were I have other apps that I can leave closed for months and as soon as I open them back up they open up to exactly the same place where I left off 3 The bookmark function is dumb You must enter a name for the bookmark It is nice to be able to name a bookmark but it would be bettter to be able to leave it blank or have a default entry such as the page number section number first word on a page or something like that What if you want a temporary bookmark so that you can go look at another section of the code and then come right back I end up with a lot of bookmarks that I name q or a or something dumb like 4 The search function is just terrible If you search for fire partition is returns every thing that has the words fire or partition in them Did you know that the word fire shows up a lot in the IBC I cant find any way to return only fire partition That is a major flaw If I had known that the IBC was available as Nook or Kindle ebooks I certainly would have bought it that way and just used the Nook or Kindle apps     terrible app
Have tried uninstall and reinstall and cannot get the AP to load the store Needs work I hope they fix it     AP does not work
This app is VERY limited in functionality There is no way to print content from it and the PDF of the code you receive through the app will only work inside the app ICC did not enable file sharing in the app so you cannot access the PDF in iBooks or other software Although ICC gives the app to you you have to pay more for the PDF download through the app than ICC charges for a PDF of the same code on their website This makes the app seem less free I strongly suggest avoiding this app completely and buying the PDF of the code from ICC Youll have all the functionality this app is missing I contacted ICC about this app and they said they plan to enable printing in a future version of the app At least wait for that release                 Not Useful in Present Form
The software works as stated or at least I havent had any real issues The app seems to process slowly as it initializes your purchases on start up It would be nice if you could move your purchases to ibooks or other eReaders that support pdf formated files so you can have your library organized in one app or virtual place instead of multiple apps Really it looks as if this virtual eBook thing is the direction reading and information is headed for good There has to be has to a way the publishing industry can standardize rights management so we users of virtual information sources can use it regardless of the virtual place eDevice we use it in After all when I purchase a hardcopy of a book I can read it in any building the equivalent of an eDevice without penalty or hassle Likely your organization will continue to operate in a 21st century tech universe using archaic 19th and 20th century paradigms           Works as stated
Works nothing like I expected Seems that the people who wrote these code books also wrote the programing for this app Neither function as they should     Contractor
If your looking for a free app to view IRC codes dont bother with this one This is just a portal for their internal store It is slightly misadvertising when it states that you can browse codes You can only do so once you have purchased the PDF Apple Admin can you force this off the App Market until they correct this statement     Dont download
1 the user interface is cumbersome and painful 2 the search engine doesnt work at all it just sits idle and does nothing 3 the bookmarks I are okay but would be nice if they were more functional     Dont buy books through this app
