Eraser a must Deleting sketches a problem Hard to handle some templates Slow        Fix itIt could be great

This did not live up to promoted features Its difficult to control and impossible to correct Your only option is to erase the whole screen losing anything you would want to keep        Very disappointed

This works as a doodle pad and the fashion and sport templates seem like they would work well but for landscaping which is why I bought it it is less then perfect It would be far more helpful if the prefab shapes could be rotated Also would be better if you could go back and change shapes and objects after youve placed them It only allows you to undo the very last thing you did        Not as useful as hoped

This app has one thing going for it The idea of including organized collections of templates that you can sketch on Its a great idea Medical people crime investigators engineers designers etc all have templates they use regularly And the app lets you bring in your own templates which is good But The drawing itself is poor and while you can drop down graphical elements to sketch over you cant easily remove them Theres no text tool And so on What Id really like to see is these guys ganging up with the devs for sundry notes because the templates here plus their note taking schema would result in a killer app As it stands now this app is proof that the template idea rocks and it would be a hit if the rest of the app wasnt so basic Id also like to see a lot more templates Figure drawing schematic diagram clips flow chart elements math symbols and dingbats accident and crime investigation auto design and machinery sweeps French curves etc The clips alone could act as a basis for a lot of good design particularly if they existed on a separate deletable layer So much potential here but as it is now not much to keep this app on peoples pads Most will buy use once and discard because the idea is there but the execution is lacking meat           Bare bones drawing cool template idea

The application just could not track the path Im drawing without skipping at any reasonable speed That alone makes it unusable for me As another reviewer mentioned this might be an artifact of not having a real iPad to test with before release But in the developers rush to be on the App Store I feel I lost If youre looking for a drawing app that lets you quickly sketch out an idea consider Adobes Ideas also available for the iPad It works wellit never fails to track the path Im drawingand its free Unfortunately I learned of it purchasing this app     Not ready for shipping

The app had potential but drawing or writing is impossible because of erratic and jagged strokes Ive had it installed for months hoping for a version that fixes the bugs but it never came Bought Adobe Ideas and Penmulate instead Dont buy this app     Huge fail Why hasnt it been fixed

The templates are absolutely of a huge help Imagine that youre working on a new UI and need for every screen start from an empty window Easy to manage sketches and to add content from different sources clipboard local storage and so on Sharing feature takes in account pretty much everything Its a veer neat app a dollar less would have made it more appealing however a inventor I understand how much work theres behind this so I sucked it up and I paid I am happy that I did it Two missing features Text how the heck I am supposed to add details to parts of my sketch Fingers are too big for small writing Swap between pages of the same sketch would help to keep the focus Something on the edges of the screen to move back and forth I would have given 5 stars if I had text input a missing in pretty much every app of this kind              You must give to this a try

the performance just is not there Two things would make me absolutely insanely crazy about this app 1 Better drawing performance The app frequently drops out when youre sketching like it forgets to pay attention to the touchscreen for some reason This makes drawing slow and frustrating 2 A text tool Even with the Pogo Sketch stylus I still cant write legibly or small enough Combined with the performance issue this kills me A nicetohave would be the ability to have more brushes I LOVE the brushes and templates features of this app They make it very quick for what I use this app for UI sketching Except the previous two problems shoot it in the foot           I want to love this app but

This would be such a great apps if they develop it into what it is supposed to do The developers should fix issues with its slow interface It badly needs more tools and features for it to function for its purpose I am intently waiting for an update on this Such a great app for designers and planners Too bad it just doesnt work at all     Needs improvements

I think its a good start but it needs a few more options How do you delete a sketch completely           Ideate

This app is not yet ready for sale Its performance is dreadful I just tried to draw a line with it and the lag from when I did the gesture to when the line appears is quite long Clearly this app should be withdrawn until they get it to actually perform mz     Apps performance is Subpar

What good is a sketching app if you cant sketch No excuse for this poor performance now that the iPad is available to developers     Terrible performance

Its true I was going to wait to buy an iPad until the frenzy was over but when I saw Ideate in action i ran out today and bought an iPad And so far the app has made my purchase worth while Ideate has a ton of templates i used the landscaping one to plan out my garden for the summer But you can use it if you are a doctor or medical student a fashion designer a coach and there are templates just to doodle with Well worth the 399                 This app was the reason why I bought the iPad

I saw this app demod at the EffectiveUI booth at web2expo It has great promise but as other reviewers have noted the functional experience has a long way to go There are some phenomenally long lag times intermittent lack of response and skipped input in other words its not consistent about picking up sketch gestures and recording them There are some other issues and missing features that prevent the app from being usable in its current form I am crossing my fingers that EffectiveUI creates some updates to address the shortcomings and that this ends up becoming a great app        Promise but poor performance

The developers seem to have bee led astray by the simulator developing a program that is too slow to be usable on the actual device The points are sampled at such a slow rate while drawing that even at quite slow movement speeds it is not feasible to draw smooth curves     Drawing Slow

The app has a lot of potential but as far too many have pointed out performance of the app itself is awful Lags make it unusable for all practical purposes No update to the app since April and no update to the apps blog since 418 Shouldnt the dev at least acknowledge the performance issues and tell us what is being done to rectify Customer service isnt rocket science simple communication R        As too many have pointed out performance is terrible

I bought this along with a TON of other drawing sketching and design apps I was ultimately looking for three things a sketchingpainting app a vector based design aop and a quick mockupwireframe app To be clear I didnt necessarily expect one app to do all of that I have purchased all the major iPad apps that do what I described I love so many of them but i think ideate has serious potential to be a quick mockup idea sketching app I dont think its a bad thing that the app can satisfy web designers fashion designers landscape etc It actually shows how flexible it is The two things they could improve on that would make the most impact would be to improve the fluidnessperformance of sketchingdrawing and make it dead simple for people to add their own stencils templates etc By hosting a free community to app owners so web designers can share upagebackground templates stencils and ideas Also layers would be highly useful along with the ability to lock the background layer For 399 you cant go wrongif you want to quickly sketch ideas and a build a library of stencils templates etc As long as the author is planning to improve the drawing engine and possibly add layers or at least background layer locking Cheers              Great potential

I dont see an eraser or the ability to use only one model from the template instead of using all If these features are not already present I would love to see them in the next version Otherwise this app really isnt that user friendly I am afraid           Eraser and using only one model from template

I am pretty good illustrator This app needs so much work There is no control using fingertips you cant see what you are doing You cant pour color into a shape There really needs to be an eraser This is not a program I would recommend Im sorry I downloaded it It should have been free There is no instruction for its intended use I say its useless in its present incarnation Anyone who has used Illustrator or any other drawing program will also be DISAPPOINTED Sorry I had to give it 1 star It doesnt deserve it     Frustrated

A few improvements typographical elementsscale clip elements large and small a smart export to glossy to clean things upWhat they have so far is great and I definitely think it is worth the 399 if not a couple bucks more              A great first step
