iDrumTune analyses the sound of a cylindrical drum and provides you with a measurement of the drumhead vibration frequency, much in the same way to an acoustic guitar tuner which measures the vibration frequency of ...
This app is not accurate at all and gives a different pitch every hit Do not buy     Terrible app useless oriperetz
First off I have never reviewed an app in my life however I was compelled to review this one I have been playing and tuning drums for the better part of 20 years I have a good ear and usually don t have much trouble getting a great drum sound However after purchasing a new kit my sixth I could not get the floor tom to sound good And for what I paid for the drums it should sound great After messing with it for about an hour I started googling solutions Which brought me to the tune bot Further googling lead me to iDrumTune 10 minutes after using this App my floor tom SINGS I used the multi lug tuning option and was able to quickly get all the lugs relative to the pitch of the head I couldn t be happier and I m excited to try it on all my other drums Buy this app if your a drummer                     WORKS AS PROMISED Lildrummerboy
First of all this is no replacement for a Tune bot it s much slower to react and the results are not nearly as consistent or useful If you re getting serious about drum tuning and don t want to spend very much this app might be helpful I have four rack toms and two floor toms I tune them in major thirds I can get them to exact frequencies with Tune bot but not using iTuneDrums which allows me to get in the ballpark but not right on the target note I like that this drum tuning app lives on my iPhone so I have it with me all the time iTuneDrums has an interesting readout of information about the sound drums make It is unlike torque wrenches because it is based on sound not measurement of physical tension or pressure it measures the sonic results of these physical measurments which is what your ears do to when listening to drums At 5 it s worth the investment to have another viewpoint of the sound and pitch your drums are actually making If you tune your drums by ear iTuneDrums can tell you how well your ears guided you to the end result like Q C for your ears and pitch It is fascinating to see on the app how a harmonic can be louder than the fundamental tone of a drum and how the smallest turn of the drum key can change the overall timbre produced             INTERESTING DRUM APP Mark King Radio
Love it It won t get you perfectly tuned drums but it will get you close After 3 years of drumming there is a tool for tuning drums There is a bit of a learning curve to the app but it s amazing what it can accomplish                     Amazing Jonthedinosaur
I am a new drummer with new drums the Internet videos didn t help as much as I would like found this app and it is awesome I would definitely recommend this to all I showed this to my drum instructor and he downloaded it and liked it                     Awesome App works great #Kizzles
Frequency readout a jump 50 to 60 Hz while trying to tuner Completely unreliable waste of money     All over the place Mlogan100
If you half way know what your doing you can tune your drums very easily with this app Great for getting all the lugs within 05 hertz of each other My drums have never sounded as good as the do after using this app                     Worked just fine Bryan K 5000
Yes the microphone is on     Doesn t work Kass73
Just tuned my first drum and this app is awesome I am a guitar player so I am use to tuning on a regular basis Overall the app performed we but occasionally the overtones would get annoying because they would show and not the fundamental tone Found I just needed to hit the drum a little harder and that helped There is the filter which can help but I didn t need to use it yet The only issue I ran into was that the frequency reference guide is on page 13 of the notes help it would be nicer if it was page 1 or 2 for faster reference                     Great app bburt85
While trying to tune to middle C for example Hz samples are all over the place 259Hz then to 309 Back and forth and all points in between Cant trust Waste of my money Would give no stars if it was possible     Hard to trust MikeTwo
I never knew I could have this much fun tuning drums As a drummer tuning isn t something I typically look forward to However this app is quickly changing my mind Being able to quickly analyze my sound when changing heads or quick tuning before a gig has proven invaluable Great job guys and keep up the good work                     I wish I found this earlier Admanrod
This app has helped me to get my drums sounding fantastic It doesn t tune them for you but it is great at what it does which is give a pitch readout when you tap the head near a lug It goes easier if you mute the center of the head a bit with some gel or just a light touch of a finger The Spectrum View is the thing that puts it ahead of its competition because there are so many overtones on a ringing drum head Even if the app can t pick out the main one you can switch to the Spectrum View and see what all the spikes are Doesn t replace having a good ear but it sure helps augment and train                     Best in field Cruciblefuzz
Just downloaded the full version of this app Overall I d say it s worth the price It does what it says especially with the filter mode on The app is useless without that A few suggestions Make a way to save favorite turnings create a kit setup Add suggested tuning setups from the site to the app Change the interface It works but honestly it s just kind of ugly If you want more people to buy the app make it look nicer                 Good drum tuner Turbo64
I think its feature set is attractive and in the cases where iDrumTune works for you you may love it The program could not find the fundamental frequency for my conga when it was tuned up it seemed I was above the high end of the frequency range However it worked nicely for my tumba but it would be entirely useless for a quinto I ll guess iDrumTune uses a fast Fourier transform for the spectral display There is no reason why the frequency cutoff should be only 250 Hz Developers PLEASE address this It cannot be that hard to change the arbitrary frequency limit             Not very useful for conga tuning Spike Lightfoot
Hmmmm I had the original app with mixed results I thought with the filter function and more development time the app would be more accurate Not sure what they are doing in the videos that make them tune the drum with good readings all the Time First I had to use moon gel in the center to get lug readings Otherwise I get same f0 Not sure why they recommended to do this Secondly I keep getting very high readings on my 16 floor tom After many strikes I may get the reading I would expect for example B2 I was able to tune the 10 and 12 toms easy enough though even without the mongrel The floor tom definitely has me baffled I would love to get a response from idrumtune to educate me on e issues I have I would love to alter my review and say its a great app             Handy tool but RonydPaesano
The last updates are starting to work for me I think it s good Well priced nice tool                     Great Drumfreakuthgf
This was pretty fantastic on paper and in actual execution I could t ask for more There are several drum tuning apps out ranging from 2 20 this is the simplest and most straight forward tool available and it WORKS The filter and lug tuning updates make it a MUST HAVE app for any drummer This is technology at it s finest I LOVE IT Drum tuning is NOT easy and this helps immensely                     Incredible Drum Tuner RandallMcmurphy
Outstanding I was shocked at how well it worked how easy it was and above all how quickly you could tune a 5pc kit                     iDrumTune App Slingalud
You got my money I did not find it well spent iPhone 4 and iOS 6 leads to different readouts on every hit of the same drum in the same place Totally unusable I will rereview after each update but as of now this is a no go for me     App is horrible Hawstel Awstel
I had my doubts about how well this would work in real life but I ve been very happily surprised It gave me very accurate pitches at every lug on my toms and even read the bass drum accurately which I really didn t expect The way the lug measurement part of the program works it gives you the baseline frequency of the first lug and then tells you how far above or below that pitch each succeeding lug is and numbers each one as you go around the drum The beauty is that it gives you a visual representation of when a pair of lugs is off or which end of a pair needs to be adjusted It still requires some interpretation of course and depending on how and where you hit the drum head you can get wildly differing pitches But that has more to do with the complexity of drumhead overtones and vibrations than with the program With a little practice and some care I was able to get consistently usable readings every time And the drums sound better than I have ever been able to achieve before I just can t say enough good things about this app                     Fantastic tool Rhino Rocket
The app didn t detect anything         Nope Breezy101232
Ever since you guys added the filter function this app is gold I ve used it to tune my entire set Users need some basic experience with tuning but your guys notes on it and the new filter made this app really handy My only additions would be a way to save frequencies for each drum so you can come back to them later and a tuning calculator like tune bot has on their website                 Very handy w new filter function bmarshjr
I m giving it a 5 star rating even tough it s a four in my opinion because people give such awful hurtful one star reviews The app itself is very acutete as accurate as tuning drum goes Tuning drums is complex and diverse If you want spend money on a tuning drums device go buy a tunebot and stop giving this app and others alike bad reviews Let me say that if you re getting inconsistent readings you are doing something wrong Learn to properly tune drums change drum heads first This isn t gonna tune the drums form you but becomes an essential tool when it comes down to it Learn how to use it properly                     Great tool Jeftelopez
Readings can be a big inconsistent at times but overall this app has really eloped me out a lot and I have been using it as a nice reference for tuning all my drums ever since downloading it             Pretty helpful Steven&2383
This is one of the best apps I ve got lately Lot of great info on here you should read some of the stuff before using the tuner it will help you do it right I found out that my drums where in tune and was able to dial them in to the sound i wanted by putting them at certain hz levels Worth the money                     Great app Mike_U3
Tried tuning my toms Readings were so inconsistent that it made using this app worthless     Does not work Goforthejugular
It seems it needs an external mic to have accuracy It jumps around and generally isn t extremely accurate Could not handle tuning a snare or bass             Alright DandLVic:)
Both iPhone and iPad seem to be inoperative on iOS 6     Does not seem to work on iOS 6 ADHD nightmare
You are at the mercy of the iphone mic Mine apparently doesn t work well enough to use this app I like the idea Maybe if i used an external mic it may work Couldn t get any consistent readings and it looked like it kept freezing Had to back out and reopen several times Hopefully an update would fix the issues         External mic Nevrdie
In just a few days of using this app on my iPod Touch it has become an important tool I use it to verify the tuning on my drums so that the sound is consistent Using iDrumTune is so much fun I tune my drum kit daily                     iDrumTune is a great tool JackBoyd
I tried this just to see what 99 would get me There is a major flaw here I am able to tune by ear so it s strange that this tuner shows the opposite Hz that it should for the drums My small toms are in the 85 0 and 120 range and the larger toms have 163 and 223 for the floor tom Go figure I m not sure what this means but this tuner does not work or needs some major tweaking     The Cheese Smells gruntersdad
Yes the microphone is on     Doesnt work
