You cant type in the info You write with your finger and a hardtouse chalk icon I deleted it after 5 seconds Thanks to the developer for offering it for free though     Nope

This program does what it says it does but does it in a way that makes it virtually useless for its intended purpose However the program is almost there and with a little bit of tweaking would be good You must give the iPhone a vigorous shake to induce a clap noise but doing so makes it impossible to tell in which frame the clap occurred unless your video camera captures every frame pristinely without any blur unlikely considering how quickly you must shake the iPhone to induce a clap So as a practical matter you can not use the application for its intended purpose precisely syncing audio to video A less literal take on the Clapper that allowed the iPhone to remain still while the screen image went through a major obvious change coinciding with the clap noise would solve the problem Adding a mark button that when pressed would initiate a brief visual countdown 3 2 1 followed by a full screen color change coinciding exactly with the clap noise would be one possible solution Other problems The black and white stripes are too small to use for effective white and black balancing Writing on the board with your finger is awkward and it takes practice to write legibly Allowing the option to type the information in would be a big plus Retaining written information between starts would be an improvement since when the application stops all information is lost forcing you not just to update the take number but also to rewrite the Production Scene Director Camera and Date information for each take     Not Quite There

Ive been looking for a slate app for a while that I can actually use on productions This however is not it Why would I want to handwrite the production info when I could type it Its time consuming and sloppy Plus having to shake the phone to clap Thatll probably lead to a lot of blurry frames of the actual sync moment All of my painfully entered info disappeared upon exiting the app also Hrmph     Not quite

When I was looking at this app I did not know what to expect I was pretty worried about wasting a buck but this app really shocked me I love the ability of writing on the clapper board and it clapping feature is all that bad There isnt nothing to complain about but dont expect too much              Pretty snazzy

Do not buy the application Total crap I just spent 099 on a app that is far more worst then just clapping in front of the camera to sync the audi and video up The clapper part on the app is way to small to see while editing video clap your hands instead     Worst 099 cents spent ever

Pros Free fun to play around with Cons Its useless to any body actually needing to film something with it The whole point of the clapper feature is so that in post the editor can sync the audio with the with the footage Basically the sound of the clapper makes a spike in the audio which then you match up with the second the clappers hit Since you have to shake the ipodiphone to actually get it to clap it would be impossible to ever time your shots out with this Im giving it 2 star merely because of the novelty of the app Most real filmmakers including amateurs would need a real slate and not a tiny one on a phone And if you are an amateur go out and spend the money on a cheap slate It will be worth the movie even if you dont stick with filmmaking You could at least decorate your house or something with it        Fun to play around with but completely useless
