The iProtein is now available as a free download on Apple Store for both iPhone and iPad owners.The application is supporting English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. The new iProtein app version 5.0 has been updated on 2014-11-27. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. Poor interface missing important settings Sequence similarity search gives bad results fails to pick similar sequences I can find manually within the app Junk
Very nice app in my opinion accessing what seems a large and well curated structural database I can easily navigate from sequences to protein families to protein structures site information and related ligands with a few clicks I love the fact that I can query the database starting from a ligand substructure and then retrieve structural correlated ligands together with proteins and sites they bind to I recommend developers to improve the 3D visualization piece Molecules doesnt always seem to correctly display structures I also couldnt find a way to control rotation axis and rotation speed using View animated site making this functionality not particularly useful Overall all though this is a great start for a 10 version and definitely an appdatabase worth subscribing to once the trial period expires I look forward to future releases Very nice app
