Journey of Fortune: Dragon`s Fire

Basic board game adaptation for the iPad which I thought would be more fun than it was especially for 4 Agonized about it and now somehwt regret the purchase The look is certainly retro with the digital readouts similar to a early 90s pinball table and the artwork is interesting but this does not compensate for the gaps in play Bottom line is you have to roll a 1 to leave start but the first time I played it took me six rolls to get onto the board I thought I was doing something wrong This is ironic because it seems while you are playing you spin nothing but 1s as that is the majority of the numbers on the wheel During the combat portion when you increase your mana past one many of the spaces go blank If you land on a blank nothing happens except that the monster attack comes sooner essentially a miss which I understand The problem is there are so many blanks you can go 45 spins or more easily without doing any damage to the monster Real fun I cant imagine how boring this would be if you were hotseating with another player being forced to watch you spin misses for five minutes against the tougher creatures Also it seems obvious that there is nearly no way to get through the table without dying multiple times and going back to start as the tougher creatures are truly formidable dragon until you have died four times or more and hopefully gotten some power ups I was only able to beat the dragon by dying four times then spinning on the one mana spell wheel hoping to get shields to get my armor up to 8090 This took quite a while and I died once trying that as well Then once I managed to get my shield up to 89 I was essentially invulnerable so I just kept hacking at the dragon for over 10 minutes spinning and spinning again until it died Again hope youre not playing with anyone that is impatient Then as insult to injury I hit the teleport space right before the End sending me backwards quite a distance forcing me to spin another five or six times to finish Yey So nice effort but it ultimately fails to entertain and will not be long on my device Work on the speed of the play reduce the price add more variety to the spaces minimize the misses or at least make more results then maybe it will be better        Close but off target

Brilliant concept but not fully implemented I love the pinballarcade presentation however the locking topbottom screen scroll takes away the ability to take in the art of the game board The game play is sluggish Not because its poorly programmed just that the game pace is to slow to create excitement For instance even when playing solo you cant start until you spin a 1 huh There is potential to balance the game better as well and allow for more skill than luck Currently there are only two mechanisms you can influence one how hard to spin and two gamble mana for better results The game mechanics lend itself to a lot more that has not yet been implemented The other major issue is the lack of sound effects Why are there no arcade sounds This game should sound like a casino but instead it seams that sound was an afterthought What a miss Overall its disappointing but sin such an interesting concept Im ok with its shortcomings           Almost but not quite

Being an older gamer I really like the idea of an electric board game I have been playing solo and the game is great even if you have no one to play with Its worth four bucks Really well done game that I highly recommend                 great electric board game

The UI for this game has a lot of character which is what attracted me to the game and I havent noticed any bugs But it seems to me that game design was an afterthought here The whole thing just seems like a hodgepodge of halfbaked ideas that dont really mesh into anything sensible or fun Sadly this will probably become the first nonfree program that I have deleted        Good programming poor game design

Great game very fun although Ive only played solo so far but played for a few hours If there are future updates Id love to be able to toggle the difficulty up on the enemies for multiple playthroughs Also an option for portrait view would be nice in order to see the whole board at one time These updates would increase replay ability and user enjoyment Thanks for the great game heres hoping you make more digital board games maybe a horror or scifi theme                 Awesome

Pay no mind to the one stars they must have grown up without board games This is the perfect family game night addition It has all of the pitfalls and paybacks of your favorites with the ability to upgrade your colored piece                 Its trouble vs heroes quest

Overall I am pretty satisfied with this game However one thing that I really like to see in the next patch is that saving the game so that I can run other application in the middle of game and come back later Also other map or board will be great bonus Overall absolutely recommended              Great game but cannot save it

Had a blast with this when my pals came over for a soccer match watching fest In between advertisements wed pick up where we left off my pals even said this game had great visuals great job They added the save on exit which made this a very good travel partner As you can play it as and when you feel like when youre on your own wo having to start over Kept me entertained through a number bus trips home                 Digital Boardgame to get when pals are coming over for the night

This app is exactly like an electronic DD game would be if it had been made in the 1970s Surprisingly fun but true to its roots there is a lot of randomness and there is no help screen so it takes some getting used to A tip you dont have to spin the wheel hard so long as the wheel travels more than three spaces when you release it the spin will count If you want to win quickly you have to abuse this Its hard to do consistently but thats where the challenge lies For the next version the game could use help text maybe different character classes but especially it should record the number of turns it takes the player to win and save best turn counts                 Genuine retro RPG

Im a big fan of board games but this was a big disappointment There is no strategy to speak of its just roll and hope Thats too bad because the game has a nice old skool DD feel and wellstyled visuals but unless youre looking for some absolutely mindless dice rolling youre in for a disappointment        Not much to it

Roll and move The only choice in the game is how much mana you spend on each attack Basically you just roll and roll and roll until you either win or die Shrugworthy at best        Pretty but pointless

The graphics are interesting but the gameplay is lacking        Pretty much just luck

Its simple but fun Very good use of the iPads bigger screen estate Just the fun gameplay itself deserves 5 stars                 well designed
