My kids and I really like this app particularly because it is one of the few ones available where you can learn sentences rather than just words And if you want to really learn a language you have to learn sentences I guess it is the immersion method but it would be helpful if you could at least read a translation to all the vocab they throw at you I often had to ask for help from Mandarin speaking friends It is not intuitive Also sometimes my kids are afraid to get something wrong because if they do there is a very loud buzzer that goes off It does not encourage them to try and learn the immersion way It scares them a little On some discovery puzzles there is no way to repeat the question so it makes it hard to get the correct answer if you didn t catch what they said Please add a repeat button to every discovery game Hearing something often helps to learn it There are other glitches like after you get the puzzle piece for that puzzle and you want to play it again you don t know when you are done because you are only rewarded the first time you play it Also on a couple there is no way to progress to the next page to complete the puzzle The button is missing If they could fix these things it would be great if you have a Mandarin speaking friend to translate everything But no other app for kids has taught them to listen as well to conversational Mandarin Best app for learning sentences doradaexplora
My 7 year old loves this app It would be great if it worked She does the lesson and the puzzle piece does not appear It also freezes I would not mind paying for the entire app if it worked The individual in app purchases add up Would love to give this a 5 star since it engages my daughter but can t do with the bugs Love this app but FunMom2
Is app could be amazing but it s glitchy often randomly closes or freezes The technical difficulties aside there is little instruction on how to play or what exactly you re supposed to do The vocab and content of material is great especially learning how to write the characters More instruction and background teaching the vocab as well has how to play would make this a 5 star app It s also very expensive with all the in app purchases Not sure if it s worth the high price tag for each separate piece you have to buy Could be amazing Sodaman32
