If a game lists multiplayer support I expect to be able to play against an opponent of my choosing Its great that theres a massive pool of random players to compete against but Id love to be able to play this with my friends and not have to deal with random players        Multiplayer support vs random players only

I avoided this app following launch reports opted to get it once I saw it had updates The gameplay is good needs an undo and the medium level AI is sufficient to give me a good run for my money about a 5050 winloss ratio in 1v1 so far Would like Game Center support and an undo button and of course the Nomads expansion but all in all Im glad I added this to my collection              Pretty good

For the love of the boardgame this is reimplementing give us an undo This is supposed to be a light gamenot take no prisoner you took your hand off of it chess Just the ability to take back an errant touch or the touch of the wrong hex due to them being small and our fingers relatively imprecise I do enjoy the game and it seems the AI is fairly decent three plays in Ive even lost big and have only narrowly won This game is a lot of fun but the app needs some attention Basic navigationHow do I turn the sound effects off Can I turn the sound effects off MultiplayerNo Game Center I probably wouldnt use it much in any case but I have no interest in going to BSW Oh and give me an undo Let me touch one of my special tiles to evaluate my options and then decide to go back to placing tiles if I choose to Let the UIs display of legal play options be a tool to speed up game play Dont force the player to follow through on an errant touch           Great gameso so implementation

A lot of the older reviews made complaints that seem to have been addressed by the zoom levels and orientation While the textures could be sharper when zoomed and the animations a bit flashier and some music added this does a good job of giving you the experience of playing the game Probably wont win over too many new fans with this presentation though Only complaint I have is once you select a tile to make a special action Ie Stables you seem to be forced to use that tile you selected without any way to cancel and choose a different tile which gets annoying              Addressed Complaints and Fun to Play

As has been said needs UNDO button Too easy to click wrong tile and then youre stuck with something you didnt intend At end of game doesnt let you use your special Move tiles after youve placed your last tile I believe this is allowed by the rules As they dont provide rules cant check here Most annoying game gets stuck reusing same goal cards even when changed in Settings I am sick of playing Hermits Fishermen Miners Let me change these cards I change using Settings but the game comes up with the same old same old        Kingdom Builder

Fun game but the AI is prone to freezing very late in four player games and ruining the game Would also love to see an Undo button for the last selection made           One major bug

Bug After game ends on the score screen tapping the any other icon next to a score category does NOT highlight the pieces on the map that correspond to the scoring category Works in the DEMO but not in this overpriced version Please FIX IT Why is there no UNDO button LAME Why cant we see the current score as we play Good board game but this digital version FAILS to make use of simple modern digital gaming concepts ie it doesnt auto calc and show current score no undo Not recommended        Bug needs undo and show current score

Until they add undo this game is nit playable I wish this issue was not such a big deal but it is     Unplayable without undo

The app worked great for a while An undo button would be nice but not necessary However all of a sudden whenever I tried to start a new game the app crashed Seeing as I paid for the full game I would like it to work I have been waiting for an update to fix this but it hasnt come Dont buy this app until it gets an update     Crash Problems

Kingdom Builder is an awesome board game but this iOS app is unpolished at best Bugs I have seen as of Dec 14 2012 and enhancements I would add if I were the developer 1 Online Play After I signed up at the foreign website of which I had never heard to try playing online and logged in I tried to start a two player game I got a message that said I was connected to server please wait for players to join Then about 3 seconds later the app crashes I reproduced this about five times before giving up and playing with the AI again 2 Dont even bother fixing the bug I described above Use GameCenter Model online play after an app that works like Ascension 3 Gameplay bug After using the Paddock ability to move a settlement there is an artifact left behind where the settlement used to be so that it appears to still be there Later it looks like the AI or a local player is cheating because they are placing settlements on top of existing settlements but really those spaces are vacant after a previous Paddock move 4 Cancel Sometimes there is a way to cancel a bonus move but not other times With the Paddock move after one tap all my settlements are highlighted but I can still cancel If I tap a settlement to see what moves are allowed there is no way to cancel if I dont want to proceed with moving that settlement 5 Character setup There is no way to change a players character art or name after the initial creation Besides these annoying quirksbugs I have enjoyed playing the game with the AI I would now like to try matching wits with other humans which is currently impossible If this app is polished it will be worth 7 in the future but right now its only in beta testing and should be half price or less        Almost decent version of a fantastic board game

The AI is wellimplemented and provides a good challenge for a solo game or pass and play While I havent tried playing online yet the complaints about BSW seem silly to me plugging into the larger existing online player community seems like a much better idea than the closed ecosystem that Gamecenter offers The developer has fixed the bugs that Ive encountered since release The scoring display after the game has been completed is the best of any any app Ive seen you can tap any point total from any category for any player to see how the point total was calculated on the game map brilliant Because of the variation in maps actions goals from one game to the next it offers a high replay value Some complaints are valid an Undo would be nice use the Zoom if you have fat fingers people and the graphics could be sharper but in general I think the reviews of this game have been overly harsh so I bumped my 4star rating to 5 I would love to see wider adoption as this game seems tailormade for expansions                 fun game tough AI great scoring review

Love the board game however this has several severe bugs and usability problems It badly needs a take back option because its easy to mis touch and ruin a game in progress Hoping updates will fix bugs     Buggy winterface problems

This is a decent version of a great board game The first major update it needs is an undo ability A hundred reasons why this is needed but the main reason is because the hexes are small and its easy to misclick Also need ability to play with friends Please fix these things           Needs work

Havent even played it yet but it will never get five stars from me until it is more polished Also App Support link is broken Once you add the missing www and navigate to their site there is no app support available IMHO Apple should not allow that to happen And bugs the settlement that is left behind when it is moved to another location causes problems it breaks up chains so its harder to score high in the largest settlement goal settlements build ON water dont score for the fisherman goal even if they are ALSO ADJACENT to the water After new release pressing Play to play online causes the app to exit to the home screen Please fix online Please fix online Please fix online     Yet another game full of very distracting spelling and grammar errors

Such a fun game but feels like a side hobby from the developer No real substantial update for over a year We have all cried for an undo function but nothing has come about           When was it last updated

Im not going to waste time reviewing Kingdom Builder the game this review speaks exclusively to the appimplementation Theres a good base here the app is functional and the AI is adequete But theres a lot of room for improvement in terms of polish It looks a little rough on retina devices updating the artwork for these devices would go a long way The MP implementation is less than ideal you have to sign up for yet another third party service please use GameCenter A lack of an undo button is particularly tough as even on a full size ipad screen the hexes are small and youre prone to accidental errors And though this is a minor quibble the menu font gives and some of the other nongame element graphics give the app an amaturish vibe Once they add a bit of polish to this app and figure out a better MP solution this could be one of the premiere board game apps on the store Cmon Queen Games help this app realize its full potential Ill be more than happy to update my rating once that happens           Great Game App Still Has a Ways to Go To Be a Best in Class iOS Boardgame

This app is a very good and fun implementation of the game The interface is attractive and works well except for one thing it needs an undo button Too often when working out the best move you want to pick up a piece just played but cant Very frustrating Also as other have commented this game needs local wifi multiplayer and the ability to set up and join custom games Great game good app that needs features           Great game app needs features

We love the board game Kingdom Builder but the app is not a good implementation of that great game The app should allow multiplayer online using Game Center or some other method that allows friends to find each other for a game and preferably being able to take turns without everyone having to be online at the same time Until then save your money and buy the board game        Great game bad app

This has the makings of a fun game It seems to have a good amount of strategy and I think I would like it but I cant play it The app crashes very often I have tried 5 times and have yet to be able to complete the tutorial to learn the game There seems to be an issue causing the crashing if my phone changes orientation Possibly this could be fixed by locking the screen orientation The zoom function does not work well and an undo function is sorely missed as many have already pointed out This game needs serious updates and fixes and I cannot recommend downloading it until this is done        Looks Like a Fun GameIf I could play it

This is a great board game that comes close to being fun on the iOS but the frustrations of the interface simply arent acceptable The lack of an Undo button is a frequent gripe that I thought wouldnt affect me but it does Sometimes I see a better move or sometimes an errant tap means Im locked into a subpar turn And now Ive played two games in a row with a maddening zoominzoomout problem the app has a mind of its own and would rather adjust the zoom randomly rather than let me select or place a settlement when I tap I paid 299 which I believe is a sale price and even this low amount is too much for such dodgy performance        Marred by glitches lack of undo function

I love this game and am addicted to playing it Unfortunately I updated it and regret doing so Now it lags when choosing players and when you choose to not play all your special tiles and tap next it isnt as responsive Now I have to tap next several times to get it to work The first time I thought it was frozen The link for app support does not take you to support In fact there doesnt appear to be support on the site at all Updates are few and far between so I wonder how long it will be until current issues are resolved There appears to be a memory leak that causes some issues not a new issue Symptoms are crashes highlighting of tiles not working slow down etc Rebooting the ipad clears it out as just restarting the game does not fully resolve All in all I still love the game Some of the other reviews appear to be criticizing things that are user error vs game issue I do appreciate being able to fast forward the end game portion and be able to start a new game I just wish the update hadnt slowed down the start and messed up the next button           Love the game but it has some issues that need attention

Unpolished app bugs graphical shortcuts clunky not worth 7 This app is an embarrassment to the game This game has potential to be a great app dev tip look at Carcassonne app 2 Stars for app but the game is a gem Update version lag is slightly improved but bugs introduced Movable pieces are staying on the board making it impossible to determine the state of the board Waiting for more updates In a single player game I expect to be able to see my card drawn to prepare my next turn Isnt that in the rules Update v12 lag on ipad 3 is gone much improved Due to the price point of the app there is still much to be desired Id give 05 stars for each 1 discount in its current form The AI is so slow        Game of the Year App needs significant work

I love the board game and this app Its quick and easy Could it use a back button and better multiplayer Sure but those are not a deal breakers for me My one issue Ive noticed on at least two games lately Last turn in a three player AI match I place my three settlements then I go to use one of several special tiles I have and the game does not let me use them I cant do anything except check the information bit about the tiles and the point card rules              Great Game with possible late game freezeup

I just played my first full game vs the Easy AI I can testify it still has a few minor rough bits at least one typo in the tutorial an instance of a moved settlement still leaving an image at its original location some stuttered animations on my iPad 3 and a few bits of the font having rough edges but works overall and I have confidence the devs will get this right To me at least from what Ive seen so far the only issues are of a pretty superficial level Beyond Builder Kingdom simply being a GREAT board game by the guy behind the Dominion series of games something these devs DO deserve credit for is a very detailed end game breakdown showing exactly howwhere all of your points were earned although this is also one screen that could use a little sprucing up on the retina displays I also love the games detailed local game stats even just against the AI and NOT relying on a connection to GC Once these final rough spots are ironed out Ill gladly move my review up to a 4 or 5           Theyre almost there

The board game is great But this version has no undo button Thats just inexcusable Dumb Also the tutorial stinks although that at least isnt the end of the world you can go to boardgamegeek and watch a ton of instructional videos or look at a player aid etc Also you cant look at the rules during a game or click on locations for descriptions But again theres boardgamegeek So really the biggest gripe is the no undo How does something like that get overlooked              Could be great

I can live without an Undo button but not with hitting Play and getting an allblack screen The only way to bring back a viewable screen is to delete the app from my phone and then reinstall it and that gets old quickly        Yikes Crash

Last update as Im giving up and deleting this 1 While messing around with settings game crashed twice 2 Name on iPad IS STILL Kingdouilder Geez 3 Paddock popup description still looks sloppy 4 Press for a description of a farm paddock oracle etc along the top portion of the board and the popup text goes BEHIND the bar along the top where the card names are listed Half the text is now blocked Wheres the quality control 5 Dropped to 2 stars cuz stuff like this is overlooked each update 6 Too frickin late now but sorry I paid for this Too bad a bit more effort to polish it up would have produced a decent game Update thank you for the updates BUT PLEASE FIX THE NAME of your app It still appears as Kingdouilder Also the Paddock pop up display still needs to be adjusted as the picture is off and the text is off Please make it look right it looks amateurish Fun game good mechanics nice colors no problems on my ipad2 Seems the ipad3 is having the lag Anyway a few easy refinements and Ill rate it 5 stars 1 The Paddock popup needs a few fixes The horse corral overlaps the P in Paddock The word line is on a line by itself 2 Be nice to have the option to speed upslow down AI moves 3 Some words are still in German when viewing in English 4 Some poor grammar settlement was build next to 5 Save game feature and an Undo option Also please fix the app title as it appears on the ipad home screenits now Kindouilder Looking forward to an update        Needs a few tweaks

My family and I love this game and we always thought it would be a great iPad app so we were excited when it came out But just now weve discovered at least one and perhaps several bugs My son is sure that thereve been times when hes moved a building and it disappeared from both the original and the final locations I am absolutely certain that Ive moved buildings using the paddock in this case and the screen still showed the building at its old location as well as its new location This messed me up quite a bit thinking that my entire kingdom was connected I was going for the biggest kingdom bonus when in reality it wasnt Its just that the screen showed a phantom building that Id removed I also agree that it needs a take back option to undo moves Im confident that this app can be great if the developers will test it better and respond quickly to users critiques           Once the bugs are worked out

1 Many have rightly said that the game lacks an undo I agree I should be able to roll my entire move back like many iOS ports of boardgames But even more so I should be able to unclick and item If while trying to scroll I click a valid placment spot I am STUCK placing there If I click a tile but click the wrong one I MUST use that tile The devs MUST fix this issue 2 The game has more than once ended my turn when I had tiles I could still use 3 The game has shut down for no reason 4 When you click a goal card to see the text the single card display is smaller than on the setup screen Why not make it so that clicking ANY of the goal cards shows ALL THREE and the same size as the setup screen Until item 1 is fixed I am done with this game     How to make a good game BAD

I fell instantly in love with the physical game and finally succumbed to temptation and bought the app I could wish desperately for an asynch for playing with friends but as it is I give it a 4star rating The medium AI is kicking my but and Im enjoying it anyway I guess that is addiction huh Its not perfect but Ive had no crashes and the developers are working on improvements all the time It really needs an undo button for the times big fingers accidentally hit the wrong hex or if you misunderstand how a piece is going to move after you pick it up I recommend this app to serious addicts who have to have their KB fix              Addicted to Kingdom Builder

The game implementation seems well executed BUT whenever I go to play online multiplayer all that happens is the game either quits on me or I start watching a couple of random players in the midst of a game Without Game Center support this is a kind of fail and I may request a credit to my account soon unless I see some resolution or fix     Multiplayer is a miss here

I absolutely adore the board game and this is that But this app makes the game tedious and frustrating totally opposite the feel of the physical game There absolutely needs to be an undo Its too easy with the interface to place when you meant to do something else like say view a tile functionality Also there are many bugs For instance I had a tile from a previous turn on the iPad version and my turn ended before I could play it It showed the side of the functionality I just wanted to use it after placing my settlements Plus its really difficult to see the tile functionality while they are on the board I apparently press them for exactly 50 nanoseconds to get a view but 51 nanoseconds and it zooms for me 49 nanoseconds and it places my piece nearby instead Lastly why are games not saved Fix the interface and Ill happily give this a 5star review But for now its horribly frustrating     Love the board game the app needs work

I love this game but this app is terrible It is constantly crashing and freezing Many times it wont even let you use your specialty tokens Sometimes it freezes when the AI opponent tries to use a specialty token but cant like when it tries to use a Tavern but has no eligible places to use it Its a great game and youll have a lot of fun but be prepared for a VERY frustrating app experience        Glitchy Bad App but Fun Game

This is a great game and a great app I especially like how the end of game is animated the scores are tallied and statistics are kept on games played won etc However I ran across two bugs one scoring bug and the other a consistent serious crash First the crash The AI and I only play against Hard will on its turn hang and then crash after I complete a perfect Knights score with a line of 20 settlements across the top of the board The scoring bug is with Lords Vaccarino                 2 bug reports

This is a solid implementation of a fun game Really enjoyable and worth the money I hope it works under ios8 so I can keep playing it Additional features future updates should have 1 the rules the tutorial is insufficient so the game is best learned elsewhere 2 as others have mentioned an undo button in case you tap the wrong spot 3 expansions              I really like this

The one issue I have is that every now and again when you start a new game there is no map just a black box The only way around it is to reinstall the app which causes you to lose the stats otherwise everything else is fine and I love the game Im using the iPad Air with Version 7 software so Im up to date              Map Disappears

In addition to all the bugs others mention there needs to be some sort of penalty in place for people who quit the game There is nothing more frustrating than playing a game thru and when it comes down to the final tally some big baby who cant stand losing quits the game before the scores can come in Leaving you with nothing for having spent all that time There needs to be some kind of penalty against your ELO if you quit the game before finishing There are a lot of people out there exploiting ths hole in the scoring system        Multiplayers quitting frustrating experience

I have the board game version and love it I purchased this app because it stated that you can play online with friends I have yet to make an online game work and if it even ever starts without crashing the app first it freezes up mid game Great 100 app I would like my 6 dollars back though        Online play No

Kingdom Builder is a great game and surely deserves better than this The animations are simple yet somehow still jerky The online play appears to be nonexistent at the moment crashes whenever I try it no one else Ive talked to has successfully played a game online It wont let you listen to music while playing The mute button doesnt work while wearing headphones The tutorial is nonsensical and riddled with typos You cant click on the special action tile in your player area to see what it does Instead you have to click on the location tile on the board You will inevitably tap or tab according to the tutorial the wrong hex and mistakenly place a settlement in a spot you didnt intend And there is no undo so youre stuck with that mistake On top of all that the game just doesnt work Ive had multiple games just lock up not allowing me to do anything except quit out In others Id move a settlement only to have the game leave the house icon in place despite the move going through Then Id have major confusion when trying to place and use special actions because Id have to remember which hexes were actually blank because according to the game there is still a house icon there or their if you prefer This is a huge disappointment especially with the high cost of the app I assume the issues will be addressed but my confidence level is at its lowest possible level Hopefully theyll get it worked out but the devspubs deserve a major hit to their reputation     A sloppy bugridden disaster

Great game BUT App interface is okay but doesnt always respond to first touch which can lead to misplacement of a cubeno undo makes this really annoying Hogs battery life and freezes late in games AI is solid Some bugfixes and an undo would make this great Mediocre effort as is           Buggy
