Bought this app years ago Wasn t a great app wasn t a bad app A little inconsistent but it still proved useful The 2014 update made it cleaner and more user friendly Still it could benefit by more consistent photography and a few of the listed knots could use some edits to the text to provide much clearer tying instructions Another update is also necessary as this is supposedly the last version of the iOS that the current 2014 version of Knots Guide will run on Ads are OK if they mean that a developer will continue to support an app on a regular basis but these ads are not appropriate for me in that they don t connect to fishing sailing or any other topics closely related to knot tying This app is at least for me a bit like carrying around a Swiss Army knife all of the time I really don t need it very often but when I do need and want it I am glad to have it Without much work this could be turned into a 5 star app I hope the developer will prep a new update in time for the next iOS update and then do some basics to keep improving it                 Useful Knots app iisentaku

This FREE app has more knots and accompanying information then other free apps I ve come across Some knots like the monkey fist could use some step by step pictures but otherwise I could tie every other knot with ease if you understand the principles and basics of knot tying then this app is for you all others stop complaining about a free app                 Sweet Blivios

If you really wish to learn how to tie knots hitches bends then choose a different app This app does not use step by step pictures with explanations rarely anyway I suppose if your goal is to just remind yourself of what a particular knot looks like then this app would have a bit more value 1 star     Free isn t always good DavRea
