I needed to find a certain kind of plant and it didnt work at all it didnt come in clutch

I am a student at Changemaker High in Tucson AZ We have been collecting samples of trees from local neighborhoods We are using the app to find what species the trees are The app comes up with tons of results but the problem is it doesnt come up with anything from the desert It would be a great idea of it worked for desert plants doesnt work for desert plants
I live in the south and it only had settings for the north It then only showed me some pictures for me to compare my leaf to and none of them was even close to my heartshaped leaf Useless
Is is a great idea but it usually fails to identify the leaf Recently I am getting a error saying that the server has a high number of requests so it cant process mine Too bad Pretty Useless

Yes Ive had trouble using the photo feature but who cares Whats really cool is that you can get a leaf and compare it to all the pictures and if youre stumped you can try to find the fruit and if its spring flowers Its more effort then others were expecting but it helps you learn the trees and what they look like Just today I identified what I think is a American Sycamore Bur Oak Scottish Elm and A Northern Catalpa Thanks Columbia University Cool App

I was pulling some saplings in my yard that I was afraid were poison sumac I took a picture of the leaves with the app and it verified that it was staghorn sumac instead and isnt poisonous Saved time not having to search the Internet Great so far

OMG this app helped me with my leaf project for school I love how you can take a picture and it will tell you or give you suggestions to pick from A
No matter what I take a picture of I get an error message that due to high volume my request cannot be completed Very disappointed Disappointed
Dont bother Why is this even in the App Store Error msg is basically a canned lie Recognition Error Due to high volume of requests the server cannot process your request Please try again later No after 20 attempts to upload at various times of day with not one success It becomes clear that the server is the least of the developers challenges Pretty but unfortunately Useless
Ive been trying for days and all its telling me is it to busy to identify my picture So as of now I can tell you how well it work after that point Not really happy but I have high hope itll start working
The leaf needs to lie flat on a solid white background If there are any shadows the app wont recognize it You dont often find perfectly flat leaves in the real world Great idea doesnt work in the real world
So I just loaded the app and have so far been unable to get results Apparently the server unavailable problem is a big issue Am going to look for an alternative for sure Not worth it
Worked well with the obvious I tried maple oak birch but a half dozen others no luck Sometimes they were on the listing but not on top Also I noted there doesnt seem to be any red leaf trees listed Two of which I was hoping the App would tell me Great idea but will have to wait a while i guess It might be useful for a data base except those red leaf trees A lot more work needed

I have tried to upload a photo eight times And eight times I am told the server cant handle the volume of requests Upgrade your servers or remove your useless app please Terrible
This would be such a cool app if it worked I have tried to upload a photo 5 or 6 times over the past week and each time I receive an error stating that the servers cant process my request to a high volume of requests I have tried it at various times of day throughout the weekmost recently at 730 AM EDT on a Sunday I have a hard time believing that volume could be all that high every time I try to upload It would seem that the app simply isnt supported at this time and is not functional Does not work

The app gives me a Recognition Error every time I try to send a picture for identification I tried photographs on white paper up close centered nothing seems to matter I even tried common trees like the Oak and Maple Great idea but is not worth it if you always get errors Naturalist

Ive used this apps image recognition feature successfully on a number of leaves The correct tree is generally in the top three or so choices offered up by the app The images in the provided catalog are clear and easy to use for manual identification and to narrow down the choices offered by the auto recognition feature There are a number of other great features as well Great job folks I love this app
The app worked initially quite well on my old iPod a couple of years ago but recently all I get are errors such as Recognition Error Failed to poll server Why the errors Wish it worked now

I had high hopes for this app after reading about it in Field Stream magazine However it doesnt live up to the hype I get server errors every time I try uploading an image for identification and over the course of the past week it hasnt worked once for me It functions well as a field guide if you want to sort through a bunch of pictures to try and identify a leaf But the upload portion is garbage Furthermore dont expect any tech support help if you go to their website and email them My email asking for assistance was never replied to Terrible App Dont Bother Downloading It
I tried it on a perfect American Sycamore leaf collected from a specimen just a bit outside the normal range The app doesnt like any image unless the leaf is on a pure white background On a piece of unlined white paper I took four images in succession Their server did an okay job and returned the right answer at positions 234 and 2 First was Amur Maple But the returned reference images made it really clear that my leaf was a Sycamore Not Bad

after the third try the photo of the flat leaf on the white background was accepted the 25 options if what it could be were all wrong the leaf was from a cucumber plant effort ok
