This app is definitely a bit strange as far as UI is concerned but once you get used to its idiosynchrasies it does indeed work better than for instance Mac Blu Ray Player                 Confusing but works well Bushmiller

I tried their web version but that wanted me to install the Java runtime yeah right So I was very excited to find this version in the App Store UNFORTUNATELY all it does when I try to play a blu ray is hang It just freezes It s main functionality and it fails miserably Very frustrating     Disappointment The Wilderness Man

so far this player software is excellent the BD s load you get the authentic menus and navigation and can easily right click on the screen within the player to bring up subtitle language options etc I paid about 50 for the Aiseesoft player which is junk in comparison With Aiseesoft half the BD s won t play they will load to a garbage looking menu then crash some play many won t play at all and you have to select language version via the other titles junk menu which is laughable The latest version of the Aiseesoft player even crops off the sides of the image just a hair which is annoying I m only mentioning that player because I hate it and paid for it This apparently free player is amazing since it functions just like a stand alone BD player The picture quality is great this Leawo player offers brightness and contrast adjustments the gamma seems locked anyway it s great so far after just having down loaded it So far I m impressed in comparison to Aiseesoft junker                     Better than the Aiseesoft garbage I PAID FOR FrednonSped

I work at home so I usually watch movies while I work I switched over from my MacBook Pro to my new iMac I have an external blu ray player that worked just fine on the MB Pro I downloaded this useless app to try to watch a movie I ve tried several blu ray movies and none jof them will play I ve researched the website s how to section and it doesn t help While free this one is useless I ve wasted too much time trying to get a movie to play In the trash it goes     Don t bother ChefKimba

This application has worked flawlessly for me on several Mac models with different optical drives The only time it did not work was when I had an old optical disk drive attached that wasn t capable of playing Blu ray disks I suspect that many of the negative reviews could be hardware related and not directly related to the Leawo software In another instance I purchased an external 3rd party optical drive that didn t work on the Mac with the supplied cable I used it with a Thunderbolt 3 to USB 2 adapter since the cable didn t have a Thunderbolt 3 USB C connector Even though it worked for playing DVDs it didn t work for Blu ray When I changed cables to one that was natively USB C on the Mac end it played Blu ray disks through the Leawo Blu ray Player without any issues So unfortunately there might need to be some trial and error if you are not using a modern Apple supplied optical drive that is Blu ray compliant This is most likely a hardware problem not the software player problem                     Must have a Blu ray Compatable Optical Disk Reader i2review

when first using this software to watch a blu ray disc I felt confused because it didn t load but after a few times of researching I figured out to set the disc to be opened with MPlayerX then ran this software it works                     works great pinyuvf

I downloaded this app after purchasing a Blu ray player for my MacBook Air and finding out that I need an aftermarket app to allow for Blu ray playback So far the app seems to be working I also have a bunch of movies on HD in mostly avi format which Quicktime refuses to play but with this app I can play all of my movies from my library I have yet to play a movie at full length to give a true review of how the app works throught the movie so as time goes on I will update my review if needed but as for now the app seems to work great No issues going to the folders to find a movie and no issues starting a movie from disc and no issues navigting the interface Good Luck                     Great So Far 707609

Its not the most user intunitive if you are looking for features and gadgets but I installed this app opened it clicked open disc and bam my bluray movie opened right up to the menu I used the directional pads on the keyboard to select play movie and it started playing without a hiccup what more could you really NEED hit play and it plays the movie                 Worked fine and simple for me VenomousSVT

Picked up a Pioneer BDR XS06 mainly to be able to watch my ever expanding collection of BluRays and then realized I needed a player to do so After finding the vast selection of two in the App Store I opted for this free one The reviews are mixed so I was hesitant but figured It s Free In stereotypical man fashion I loaded a disc in waited for the activity wheel to quite spinning and proceeded to watch Unstoppable All this without ever stopping to read or even look for any of the instructions With a little patience for spool up and buffering the movie played in incredibly clear resolution Additionally there was no flaws in playback of either video or audio In short for a free App Thanks to the developers for that by the way this one is better than one would hope for does what it is intended to do and has a very simple interface Should you choose to utilize it don t over think it and you will be able to enjoy watching your BluRay discs My system Mid 2010 iMac 27 i7 2 9Ghz 16 GB RAM running El Capitan with the above mentioned player burner                 Pretty Good for Free Oldguyami

I downloaded the software and even updated the preferences to open immediately and closed and restarted When I put my Blue ray in it doesn t play the movie it just pushing the disk back out I never saw the orange box allowing you to click on the disk to open just the green which isn t useful if im trying to watch a movie I don t find this confusing unless I m missing something     Where is my disk open Hearttmia

When is Apple going to just develop its own blu ray player and ditch this third party garbage Disc menu is completely unavaible which causes disc errors for movies with two discs for me it is the Lord of the Rings extended editions It is also very confusing to get the movie to play in the first place I would recommend purchasing another program until Apple decides to stop being greedy and forcing you to buy movies from iTunes         You get what you pay for Rplatt9

Decided to give this app a try since it was free Not too many choices in the App Store for Blu Ray Player software This app downloaded in less than a minute Contrary to what I ve read in some of the other reviews the UI is quite intuitive I inserted a Blu Ray movie disk and it took about 15 25 seconds to pop open the main viewer window From then on it looked like any other player software I have used in the past on Mac s or Windows platform I tested the playback by using movies with a lot of fast action full screen No shearing what so ever No Pixelating No drop outs I ran 3 different action movies to test this software The playback was very smooth in all of the movies played No noticeable stutter and the picture was gorgeous The sound was very clear and in sync with the movie Being a Mac purest the sound was all courtesy of the internal speakers and sound processor that is part of the Mac main board To sum up this is a very good app and the price cannot be beat If you are an occasional Blu Ray movie watcher on your Mac I would recommend this app to anyone My configuration iMac 27 late 2012 i7 3 4GHz 32GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048MB El Capitain 10 11 2 Pawtek UltraSlim External USB 3 0 Slot Loading BDXL 3D Blu Ray Writer burner player                     Very Good app and the price is right B4radio

The app was confusing at first definitley not user friendly Once you get the hang of it though it is a life saver I am using a macbook pro with retina and an external LG blu ray drive When you open the app you should see a box with the name of your movie simply double cick and it will bring you to all the files within the disc This is where it got confusing but the good news is all you have to do is look at the bottom right and click open and your movie should load This worked for me on many movies and I was able to even see the title menu and navigate to chapters scene selection pt 1 pt2 etc just as you would on a normal tv The hitch came when I put in a blu ray disc for a tv show instead of a movie It does not play the ad s like it normally would before bringing you to the disc menu not to mention that it doesnt even do that I get no menu at all it simply just plays the first episode immediatley This wouldnt be all that bad if it was in some play all mode but that is not the case either For me as soon as I watch or skip past the first episode on the disc it reruns that episode there is no way to access later episodes This app is great for watching movies even though it may be frustrating to work at first but it is terrible for watching tv shows as their is no menu for those             Mixed Thoughts CLICK "INSTALL"!

I was able to play a bluray disc and it appeared to be good quality playback absolutely no menu support at all just plays main feature interface could be confusing to some the way it opens discs but not a deal breaker good for free i wouldn t pay for it though             Plays Bluray Discs No menu support interface is meh Mykdee311

First I did not have the problem The Ogre did I suspect he was confused by the program s rather unintuitive interface Sometimes it shows you a file select dialog and he may have tried to open one of the internal files rather than just clicking Open The program plays just fine for me with one glaring exception it seems unable to access the disc menu It just starts playing the main feature Thus I was unable to access the Special Features that are included on most all discs these days There is a Menu option available but it is greyed out I don t know if I am missing something but this is a major drawback for me             It Works Mostly Mike Donehoo
