Loved the app for the first month nothing but trouble after that Entered rentered and rentered all my info then started getting bad authentication error messages whatever that means App support not any help I deleted app     Good for about a month

So far has been very accurate I use it for work and as a supplement for our current systems However the subscription fee is the only turn off about this app But given the sad state of similar apps there may not be a better option              Wonderful Except sub fee

This a very reliable and accurate system I work on wind turbines so I need to know about lightning in the area and this is one of the most accurate systems I have used                 Awesome

This app started out great I have a horse farm in an area where summer storms occur daily and for about a week I thought Id found a great solution to the issue of knowing exactly when and where lightning was striking nearby Then it stopped alerting me For three days I never received an alert even during storms that were on top of my farm I of course checked and rechecked all my settings both in the app and on my phone I emailed support and their advice was to turn up the volume I wrote back to say that of course I had checked that but that the app simply wasnt working Their response was to thank me for my feedback and tell me theyre always working to improve the app Yeah great good to know But not even a little bit helpful So unless it miraculously starts working again before my first months subscription runs out Im afraid Ill be canceling and deleting this app In addition to the lack of alerts I also find that theres quite a delay between when lightning strikes and when the app registers it I also use WeatherBug which has a light in feature and when a storm is moving my way that app consistently shows lightning closer to me than LightningCast WeatherBug doesnt do push notifications but since LightningCast doesnt always do that either Im sticking with WeatherBug for now     Alerts me AT MOST 30 of the time despite settings being correct

I still have 12 days left in my subscription but there are no lightning strikes displayed There are huge storms on the east coast so I know there should be lightning displayed Disappointed     No lightning strikes

I got the app to get lightening alerts so I would be able to get my girls off the field if it were lightening too close to us I like the radar but have gotten NO warnings of bad weather or lightening Became frustrated when I could see the lightening with my own eyes yesterday when the storm came through Thought I had all my setting right So if not maybe if those were a little more user friendly it would be worth it to have on my phone           Disappointed

Im using LighteningCast right now since lightening is in the area this helps me plan around these events since in summer months there are increased outdoor requirements such as lawn mowing two acres etc                 Excellent App

I have been using this app for over a year Most of the time I use this app I am covering sporting events as an athletic trainer This app has enabled me to let game officials know well in advance of the need to get indoors BEFORE lightning strikes Alerts to my phone are almost instant Well worth the small fee I pay annually Giving it 4 stars only because sometimes lightning strikes dont show on the map and I wish this was more consistent              GREAT FOR OUTDOOR SAFETY

I really appreciate this app It helps to keep me safe when Im swimming in the pool especially when Im home alone I can set it to go off when lightning strikes a certain distance from the house For those summer days in Florida when we have lightningthunder almost all afternoon this is especially helpful to let me know when it actually gets close enough to be dangerous However I do have a slight problem with the cost of the service I purchased this app having already purchased a radarweather app by the same company That app used to provide lightning information but once the service expired I had to buy this new app to get the lightning service and have to pay a fee every few months or at least once a year All these costs add up quickly Furthermore I dont really want or need two separate apps              Great app pricy service

App is good I have a question tried contacting at least 10 times no answer Any one else have a problem with this this is no way to make customers happy           Cannot get support

I have had this app for a few years and it was pretty reliable Now the app no longer functions at all My paid subscription doesnt alert and theres lightning bolts all around me today Cant recommend this app     Used to be good

A great app for forecasting coming storms especially ones with lightning so I can alert crews to impending weather                 Captain and business owner

I had PinPoint Lightning which was amazing but since that app ended LightningCast took its place and is better in almost all ways the only thing that PinPoint was better at was the lightning would show for 30 mins not 10 mins and when it strikes it will give the address for the lightning strike Other than those small differences this app is amazing its well worth the 7year Buy it An update is needed though                 Great App

Lightning started a wildfire that was headed in our direction putting us at Level 2 evacuation This App alerted us of another lightning storm coming our way Its very accurate One thing I found helpful is sometimes you get too zoomed in to an area like your neighborhood and your screen doesnt show any radar stuff like green where its raining or the orange lightning strikes then you need to zoom out so your entire State is in view and then youll see the lightning bolts that you can click on                 Excellent App

We use this when we are on a lake in Florida It gives us alerts when lightning is a certain distance away you can set this distance from our house and we know to come off the lake Then we use the radar to see where the storm is coming from and can watch and know when it is ok to go back out on the water Very helpful                 Great App

A very well done app for those who wish to know how close they are to getting zapped The warnings give you ample time to get to safe shelter I would recommend this app to anyone who follows weather closely Because on a seemingly clear day it can still happen This is well worth having                 Lightning Cast

While I find the app useful it gets a 1 star rating as it hasnt been updated for 2 years     App is 2 years old without an update

I dont give out 5 star reviews often unless earned and this app certainly proves itself daily with very accurate location data of lightning strikes I am a USAF Safety Manager and use this app to make predictions and verifications of lightning within the area surrounding our airfield which provide flight crews the Go No Go prior to mission flights I also use it to verify lighting strikes within our Munitions Storage Areas and notify Ammo personnel of impending strikes within their AOR Area Of Responsibility Although difficult to prove I believe this app has saved lives when used correctly My above statement and review in no way represents an endorsement by the USAF and is simply my own opinion on the program and how it has worked for me                 Skeptical at first but after using for a month HAPPY

If you have to be outdoors especially in mountainous terrain where the rumble of thunder bounces around so you cant tell direction easily you need this Of course you have to have cellular data coverage but thats life                 Awesome utility app

Update July 2015 After initially not working at all the app produced accurate alerts for several months Now it has essentially stopped working again with just random occasional alerts even when I am watching ground strikes within a mile or so Support initially July 2 2015 responded that they were having technical problems that they hoped to fix soon Since then total silence I cannot recommend this company or this app     No longer functional

I would consider myself a weather app enthusiast I have 9 weather related apps including lightning cast This is a excellent lighting detector app Definitely worth the cost                 The Best lighting App

It can be set to warn me when lightning is far or close I have to unplug a lot of equipment when lightning is coming and this app never lets me down It never locks up The sound it makes to alarm you sounds like my stomach growling and was very confusing to me till I figured out it was the ipad                 Love Love Love this app

This Weather app is the best app Ive ever used its always telling you where the lightning is and its a very good radar                 Best weather app ever

Had this for a few weeks and not alerted once sat now with lightning all around me very big storm the base are on lightning watch and still not one alert cannot say if it works in the States But forget it in the Pacific I have to give one star because it will not allow you to submit without one total waste of my money     Does not work in Guam

This was one of the most impressive apps I had Lightning alerts were accurate and consistent often alerting within seconds of a lightning strike hearing the alert during the thunder But after the update alerts are late inconsistent or nonexistent Holding out for a little while longer hoping they fix the problem and get it back to the way it was working If not will be canceling and trying a different app     Was wonderful update ruined it

The whole point is to get notified when lighting is nearby Yet in the notification setup menu the save button does not work Another 4 wasted     Cant store settings for notifications renders useless

I tried this app this evening while doing lightning photography It was a huge help to safety by allowing me to get lightning strike alerts and then being able to see how close strikes were occurring Integration of this data with weather radar is a big help                 Excellent App
