Marco Polo: Find Your Phone by Shouting MARCO!

The concept is whimsical and fun but the app is impractical to actually use It obviously only works if the app is running and accessing your microphone The voice recognition isnt very good either        Pretty much useless

Goes off all the time You cant mute it without turning it off What a waste Hope someday an update might help As of now its aweful Mine goes off randomly     Waste of 99

At first I thought the app was really cool but then I found out why there are so many bad reviews I wish Id had read them It doesnt work for more than 2 feet Theres a lot of other crap but read the other reviews I agree with them 100           Its ok I guess

This app is a great idea I bought the app downloaded it and started using it right away I tested it out listening to it respond with polo in all the cool different voices it has but then a few annoyances 1yes the red bar at the top can get on your nerves a but really its not to big of a deal 2you have to be close to the phone for it to pick up your voice yeah you cant be down the hall and around the corner but if you keep walking around your house saying Marco eventually it will pick it up and finally number three which to me personally is the most annoying problem and perhaps the biggest reason for a person to not buy this app is 3the frequency with which this app goes off when It hears words that arent Marco is ridiculous I was showing my girlfriend how cool this app was and then my phone down while we watched a show and then throughout the whole show the app started going off with polopolopolopolo sometimes when we were talking about something and other times when something was said on TV this is obviously the biggest inconvenience what if you bought this app and you assume its going to be quiet except when someone says Marco and your in a business meeting and your phone starts going off because the app is picking up what it thinks to be Marco youll hurriedly grab your phone and go in and shut down the app there are countless examples ofhow that problem could cause many other unintentional problems and give cause to unhappy reviews for the app a slow down of purchases from the App Store and an all out cease of use from all of the current apps downloaders leaving the apps designer pretty upset So after this whole rant that I didnt actually intend to go on this long let me give a quick and to the point review if you could please please find some way to make the app only respond to the actual call of Marco that would make this app one of the best on the App Store and make a lot of people happy and hey even make you the app designer more money which Im pretty sure is why you made this to begin with right     Great idea doesnt live up to the expectations

Sensitivity is messed up no matter what you do destroys battery life Cool idea but doesnt work well at all     Dont buy it

Ive never given an app one star before but I have to this time Dont get me wrong The whole idea behind this app is fantastic and from the description it looks like youre getting something really useful After all shouting to find a misplaced phone is a lot easier than calling it or launching find my iPhone from a computer to try and locate it The idea behind this app deserves five stars but the execution of this idea is very very poor In short it worked as long as my mouth was almost right on top of the iPhone but when I walked a few feet away and shouted it couldnt hear me at all and it didnt respond I guess this app can help you find your iPhone if you place it a few inches away and forget where you set it down but if its anywhere more than 2 feet away from you you wont be able to find it The app simply doesnt work the way it supposed to Perhaps a microphone sensitivity setting may be all that is needed to improve the apps listening range but at present that feature is not available So the app cannot be adjusted so that it can hear you from more than a few feet away making it perfectly useless Right now dont waste your moneywait until the next update     Great concept but doesnt work

There maybe a version that has an adjustment for how sensitive the mic is or doesnt go off when screen is on till then its a toy that is funny at first but wears its welcome out fast        Marco a toy

Sadly this app does not live up to the hype It is continually polling your mic and so there is constantly a bright red bar at the top of your screen reminding you that its eating up your battery life If you dont like that you must disable the app which makes it useless for its advertised purpose The voice recognition is incorrectly trained so that it will fire off of any word beginning in mar and the sensitivity drops off markedly with distance once again crippling its primary usage scenario Neat idea but I do not believe the current OS and APIs make it possible to use this app as advertised and it is only notable as a novelty     Not what youd think

and all for 1 My losing my phone is a source of great amusement to my family When my son called to tell me about this app I thought he was teasing me But no Its the real deal and very useful Only thing thats not great is that it answers when I havent called Pretty funny though to have Movie Guy call out Yo Makes me laugh                 Fun funny useful

Does not measure up to the advertisement The first thing that was ridiculous the voice command did not recognize my voice Im a small woman with a pitch that matches So to get the response I had to disguise my voice and try to sound more manly So ridiculous Then the practical application is a joke Even when my husband and son both with low manly voices tried to retrieve my phone they had to be right on top of it to get that coveted polo response Thus entirely negating the need for the ap at all Ridiculous And not in a good way     Dont Do It

Too many false responses to words other than Marco make this app near worthless It could be a good app if false positives are addressed The fact that the app triggers on Mar rather than Marco makes it trigger far too many false responses This makes it impractical for its intended purpose While it seems to trigger mostly on Marc which will still trigger words like Mark market marker even words such as Mardi Gras marvelous Marcy March mercy etc will trigger There definitely needs to be some improvement to eliminate the triggering of false responses        Too many false responses

So this app is cool but its weird It says polo when I say it with my mouth right next to the microphone but when I call Marco it doesnt respond at all Another really weird thing that happens with this app is when I have Marco Polo turned on my vibration turns off on my phone I missed an entire conversation because I didnt feel my phone buzzing I noticed because when I got my passcode wrong on my phone it didnt buzz I turned off the app and then it started vibrating again Its a genius idea I wouldnt be able to make it but in order to get anything out of it it had to work        Eh

I dont know what the others are talking about Sure it may not be the most practical or practical at all for that matter but it is fun to show your friends or find your phone around the house I like it                 So much fun

Theyre there for a valid reason Not only does this app need to be running pointless which drains the battery faster it seems to use A LOT of computing power because I cant do other things on my phone without it being substantially slower and often slowly responsive Im very mad that I didnt read the reviews first I didnt think I had to because this app was featured by apple vis on their Twitter account which showcases apps that are useful for the blind and visually impaired One star for the concept but in order for the four other stars to be given the programmers need to rewrite this app so that it isnt necessary to be running to assist in finding your phone     Read all of the negative reviews
