I just bought this app expecting good user experience for money that I spent for this app So far my user experience It crash right after open the app first time Selecting Category is so slow and not reliable at all Edit Category ex moving sub categorizing is slow not reliable iCloud sync is not reliable UI is just same as iOS ver which is not for macOS I think native macOS UI could be better This Ver feels like jsut convert iOS ver to macOS it s not smooth in macOS at all I don t know why I can t resize the outline tab width it s so wide even though I m using 15in macbook This ver is 2 3 2 it s ver 2 syncing with iOS has so much potential For study review material this app has so so much potential iOS ver has been getting better and I believe the developer has capacity to polish this app a lot better Though I m conplaining about this app I m using this app for my study             I like this app but skywalker un

I agree w others re the ported over feel and functionality of the mac app It was clearly meant for iOS and for 30 this is super disappointing Creating notes and outlining is also incrediblity unintuitive The mindmapping feature grabbed me but the interface is so difficult to use that I wish I hadn t purchased it and had stuck with a simple highlighter app         So much potential but needs work Kathrjoh

MarginNote Pro is excellent software for note taking and annotation for anyone who needs to work with PDFs and ePubs as a student or professional or just for personal use It stands alone in it s innovative set of tools for keeping notes across a related set of documents using the notebooks in MarginNote I ve seen steady improvement and the addition of useful features as new releases come out The approach that MarginNote takes might be a bit unusual at first for some who are used to the Adobe approach to marking up PDFs but anyone can be up and running and productive with MarginNote in quick order The sync with MarginNote on iOS is great and MarginNote on the iPad Pro is as good as notetaking gets             Innovative and very useful

I LOVE THIS APP on the iOS however on the mac its a different story The mac app doesn t feel like its a mac app It feels like a cheap ported version Selecting and highlighting is more geared towards touch screens rather than the MAC way of using mouse or touchpad I don t regret buying this app on the iOS but Mac version I am not too keen on However this is the ONLY app that does what it does and the way it does it Anki and OmniOutliner export features are truly invaluable for a grad student when you have to go through troves and troves of information I rate this app 5 stars on the iOS but on the Mac I rated it 3 because of the cheap ported version look and feel             Great for medical students Spartan5685

After having used the iPad app for over a year I was so confident that I needed this desktop app that I skipped the 10 day free trial and immediately bought the Pro AppStore version My previous notes tags paraphrases and quoted text created on the iPad all synced from Dropbox flawlessly in the desktop version Would prefer to use Evernote for my main research container but MarginNote syncs better with dropbox so I transfer current materials to dropbox for analysis My writing consists of analyzing interesting concepts across multiple sources and the fact that MarginNote allows me to smoothly build huge mind maps so the analysis I am doing is illustrated by cases secondary materials statutes critiques etc allowing me to easily create multilevel outlines once I have the mindmap nodes in the order I like is the chief reason why I have long favored MarginNote as an initial research tool MarginNote allows transfer of the outlines to other programs such as OmniOutliner and from there I can write my final piece often on Ulysses btw which is my iPad friendly replacement for Scrivener However on an iPad a 141 note mind map my last project can make each note so microscopic that toward the end of a project viewing becomes a frustrating exercise For really big projects the desk top version was sorely needed MarginNote on the big 27 Huzzah                     Legal Writers shout Hurrah ienjoyed

I downloaded the iPad version which is free and within an hour my jaw dropped at lest 5 times as I pleasantly stumbled across invaluable features I have been searching for on my tortuous academic journey into medical school It wasn t too long before I upgraded to Pro and purchased the Mac version First of all this application works seamlessly with my three favorite applications Evernote Anki and Omnioutliner It syncs with iCloud and works well with dropbox I literally have not found a snag yet 1 it handles both EPUB and PDF It can even vertically horizontally scroll both EPUB and PDF It can even read aloud TTS both EPUB and PDF If you use E Textbooks you will understand how these features are never inclusive in one application Margin note is breath of fresh air for the modern student 2 all I need to do is highlight while reading Again all I need to do is highlight while reading This application will convert my highlights into ANKI FLASHCARDS this is seriously the most amazing feature to me I know it is hard to wrap your head around if you are an avid Anki user like myself but trust me organization is very simple and it saves so much time Questions and answers can by organized as easy as dragging a mind map bubble over another bubble I literally just have to select an option open in ANKI Flashcards or something similar and I literally have a deck ready to go in ANKI for immediate studying Note that I DO have the ANKI flashcard application on my iPad and I am referring to how it works on the iPad 2b The very same highlights that can be converted to flashcards are ubiquitously interchangeable to view in Outline format or even Mind map format I literally have separate applications that do these things and I pleasantly found this application does a great job The fact that this works within the application again saves time It is so wonderful to be able to view my notes and anyway that makes sense to me or what is appropriate for the context Moreover you can export into on Omni Outliner and your notes will show up as a very agile outline including columns that represent tags notes etc 3 The Search feature is very nice as it lists an actual snapshot of the content and remembers your place in the search que when you click on a hit This is in contrast to iBooks search as it doesn t remember your place in the search que and it also only shows simplified text not a snapshot The snapshot is useful when searching for text that is located in a flowchart or diagram as there is no way to see this in simplified text searches I must cut this review short Maybe I will update my review later but I really don t have the time to be writing reviews It saddens me that this application hasn t received any so I want to contribute and maybe help another student who struggles with time management I truly feel this application is an invaluable tool for efficient learning                     The absolute BEST for Medical Students xacity

MarginNote Pro is a cool iOS app but unfortunately it s STILL just a cool iOS app even on the Mac It feels like it was barely ported over for instance despite the variety of elements books with highlighting the eponymous margin notes note cards mindmaps everything gets jammed into the same window This means that for those of us that have multi monitor displays there s no effective way as far as I can tell to take advantage of the productivity enhancement that would be allowed by putting say books margins on the main screen mindmap on one screen note card editor on another This is such an obvious oversight and really pretty abysmal There s also a serious lack of keyboard shortcuts and the like It s nifty and I appreciate the apparently pretty strong iCloud support but for 40 I expect a tool better fitted to the Mac and not just a Mac wrapper on an iOS app I really really hope this represents just the beginning point of development on this app for the platform and not the end goal             Needs to be more Mac like anonymous999987
