EarthNC Marine Charts delivers a complete chart plotter solution on your iPhone and iPad. No other app delivers the same ease of use, depth of data, and range of features. GREAT CHARTS full, seamless US ...
If you just want to avoid going aground this I great app Its also very useful if you are not used to reading nav charts since you can click on nav aids marinas etc              Great app for Coastal sailing
I bought this app instead of buying a cheap nav system for my jet ski I have a full waterproof caseenclosure for my iPhone I keep it in the front glove box It works great saved me around 250 but some of the featuressettings and readability of the mapscharts can be irritating when you just want to quickly check your direction and location especially in smaller connecting inlets around the inter coastal water way system If the App creators are listening perhaps you can make a quick reference button and leave the full fledged charts on this app to the sailers and bigger boats I dont regularly read satellites so something like google maps but for smaller boaters would be great                 Good stuff if you dont want to buy a Garmin
Accurate and easy to navigate Live up to their App description Only charts that I have seen to date that show Range Lines Excellent                 Marine Charts
Had several crashes since apple updated their operating software All in all still a great versatile marine app for a great backup to your boat nav or a weekend rental I really like that you are able to download a route area and thus not dependent on a cell or wireless signal for the app to still work or get you to your destination Great fun and easy app for the money              Great app but not perfected yet
Great supplement to charts and chart booklets Really useful for point to point navigation and verification of course              Super iPad app Good for quick reference in conjunction with nav charts
Whether in the Great Lakes Gulf of Mexico ICW OR Tampa Bay you need this app The only thing its missing is radar VHF otherwise you would be able to leave your built in electronics off This evolved into my primary chart plotter Deadly accurate on an iPad 3                 Best Marine Navigation App
I use the app for deep sea fishing I just got back from an international trip where i had no service I downloaded the charts before on wifi and used gps on airplane mode with zero problems Very satisfied with this app                 Works great even without service
Awesome for channel markers especially at night                 Great app
Its been a real help every time we are out on the water Good stuff                 Great app
I had a Windows app that did a fraction of this at 10 times the price Great app                 Excellent app
I like the ease of use and the ability to create a track on my PC then send it to my iPad Great customer service if questions I use it for work and for funmy sailboat The ability to download charts for an area independent of data connection is excellent                 Great navigation app
This app does pretty much everything I would expect for a backup or secondary planning tool and I use it mostly for referenceinitial research I would never anticipate using it as a primary navigation tool but having said that did use it for portion of a yacht delivery a few months back If you are an inland sailor or coastal sailor it is a good tool to have in your kit To the creators thanks keep up the good work and keep those improvements coming Master Captain Geo ASARPBA Instructor              There is always room for improvement
I tried doing some simple route planning I got nowhere I have thousands of hours using modern flight management systems as a commercial pilot and think that I know intuitive by now As example look at ForeFlight which is very powerful and easy to use at almost any level from the novice to the experience pilot I wish the marine charting services would borrow from the aviation world        Not intuitive
Well worth it havent experienced any issues with the app                 Great App
A great backup to on board gps and charts Also nice to have when away from boat and home and need to explore options              I like it works very well
I have been using this app for almost 3 years on my Ipad1 Highly recommended Great features Combines marine charts of selected areas into one high resolution chart Records tracks of your trips Plan trips using waypoints Better than 5 stars                 Great app
Great program Best I have found so far                 Outstanding
Than any boat GPS Ive had                 Works best
Great app no need to buy GPS this is all you will need              Save your money
I needed one that worked in both Canada and US This is it 100                 Very good nav app
Use it all the time Need to fix the satellite part of app With the last update its gone Please fix Thanks              Great app
Great                 Great
Do not substitute this or any GPS anything for not learning knowing and using Dead Reckoning It is great planning tool that is a lot of fun also with its topography and other maps that come with it When I taught Advanced Celestial Navigation in the United States Power Squadron people who did not know navigation asked What if the sun doesnt shine My answer as it would be if your GPS went was celestial navigation exists for only one purpose to correct your DR Dead Reckoning position GPS should be for the same reason           Great Application use with caution
Works great Was a life saver in very shallow south Florida waters                 Better than my Garmin
looks greata lot going onit located me very fast even though at home no where near charted areawill post more in a few daysgoing offshore in 24ft sail boat tomorrowcedar key fi areaweather radar working goodlooks like at least 3 starswe will see           just got it today
Turns out app doesnt map lake Lanier in Georgia Company responded to my issue quickly to let me know of this issue and promptly issued me a credit Great to deal with a company with integrity and customer service     Very disappointed
Ability to choose which map youre looking at would be great instead of all the patchwork overlaying But otherwise very informative It certainly wouldnt be a primary navigation tool god no but it helps with a planning overview           Pretty good
This AP is awesome Ive use this everytime Im on the water or in the woods of Southeast Alaska I especially like the fact it has TOPO maps as well for navigating in the deep woods              Outdoor Paradise
I wanted an App with a close approximation of printed charts These are scaleable and downloadable The GPS features were not as important to me I dont know what a waypoint is and I dont care I do care where the rocks and buoys are and this tells me without too much clutter                 I wanted charts I got them
This has been my favorite app for sailing I use it for trip planning and navigation I have used it to navigate through narrow unmarked channels using the earth view to help guide my boat My only issue is that the weather radar overlays the chart making it hard to read when there is heavy weather in the area I have this app installed on my ipad and now use it for everything but depth and autopilot I can see the future of blue tooth networking and no need for fixmounted nav equipment PS For ipad users a one gallon zip lock bag is a perfectly fitting cheap way for moisture protection              Almost all you need
Your best friend when navigating the Great Lakes and Saint Lawrence Sea Way                 Life Saver
This program has it all Love the anchorages and the mile markers However in Ge lat release you took the mile marker off of the blue d and embedded it and the d now shows name of river Bad upgrade Missing my mike markers Great the way it tells so many things about this area Great overlays We were in Canada for 49 days and the best thing about coming back to navigating the US was that I got mr Charts program back GREAT PROGRAM I LOVE IT Just completing 5000 miles all over US and Canada With the exception of Canada it works WAY BETTER THAN THAT EVIL NAVIONICS PROGRAM Happy user                 Best of All
It was way below my expectation        Very basic and outdated
Will not allow navigation to waypoint Map tends to overwrite itself when zooming Customer support aware of issues but said future updates might give it functionality Charts are very nice for active position     Not very useful on ipad
Like the app a lot Use it to mark areas I want to fish Could use some improvements on zooming though              Good app Still a few small issues
I see a lot of dont bother and why waste the money comments recently Thankfully I didnt see those when I purchased this app about a year ago Im very family with the area I live in in Southeast Alaska so in the last year I hadnt used this app for anything but quick reference before an excursion Nothing but double checking I remembered where all the rocks are along my intended path And Im now writing the review and rating the app because today I finally put the app to the test I went out in fog so thick that much of the time you couldnt see further than 20 ahead of you So I didnt get where I was going quick not dumb enough to go full speed with only a cell phone GPS guiding me plus water debris is always an issue but I got there safely And it was a good 47 miles away going between islands around rocks avoiding kelp beds I was very happy to have this app in my pocket as a back up plan and it worked outstandingly Even while outside of cell phone reception the GPS indicator stayed true I dont work for the company who makes the charts or the app but if I did Id be happy for a job well done                 IM happy with it
Why is it so hard to build a good chart app The charts on this app are FUZZY unless you are zoomed to the exact right zoom level The iPhone is extremely capable of zooming in and out on a raster graphic and handling the antialiasing nearly seamlessly so that it cannot be seen with the naked eye but this app oddly does not make use of that What gives           Basically does what I need but is generally crummy
Very handy app I use in conjunction with other navigation apps                 Useful and helpful
Nov 2014 just moved this onto a large screen iPhone Only fantastic describes this accurately Looking forward to having the map link on POIs work on next iteration When Earth NC fixed the missing tides they finally responded explaining the end of the year roll over problem was fixed and should not reoccur I have been using the app daily and have found that it has an enormous set of track recording features that put Garmin to shame It has taken a month of use to discover them a short summary of all the amazing things possible would make this app an absolute must for any outdoors person or regular traveler A rating of 5 stars is a big understatement I now give it a TEN for an IPhone 4s user Thanks Earth NC for a great program 21 Feb 13 Still a very useful application and absolutely the best available particularly for marine use Only Jeppesen can beat it with their much more expensive subscription service designed for commercial navigation use with the top line iPad I would appreciate EarthNC restoring the standard roadmap as it was earlier for when I transition from the water to the roads Because of its versatility Earth NC is much better than either MapQuest or the Apple map installed on the iPhone Still I rate this as 10 stars if that were possible Great work Earth NC 22 Feb 14 Missing tide detail problem has reoccurred Please fix it ASAP Was on the water today for the first time after the winter super cooling Tried to do a tide check and there was nothing                 SUPERB APP
However soon as I can get a GPS for my iPad Ill use it more           Havent used it extensively
Great app                 Great app
Good App              Good App
if it werent for this app we would have sunk in Narragansett Bay this weekend 3 days without a motor and a storm was still rough but this app saved us multiple times                 life saver
What makes this app so great is their raster chart service They update the entire US chart set each week and blend it all together into one seamless chart It the smoothest best chart app out there The new weather feature still has some rough edges but it makes for a great addition to already great product                 The new weather update is great
This App has served me well cruising around the Puget Sound and San Juans often supplying better information than the fancy built in electronics in my 41 Meridian Great that the maps are downloadable and can be used when you do not have cell reception Great on both iPhone and iPad                 Great App
No problems Works the way it is supposed to Excellent app                 Excellent app
This app while it has minor bug always crashes when I click Stats on a track detail view screen is the best marine charting app I have found Whenever I plan on boating in a new area or traveling by boat to somewhere I have not visited before I use this app to plan the route Then I export the route via email to my Mac After that it is just a case of saving to SD card and importing into my Lowrance GPS on my boat Being able to plan so easily and get the planned routes into my boat GPS is invaluable and gives great confidence of not running aground on shoal or sandbars                 Excellent Marine Charting and Planning app
Great App use it every week                 Magic
Excellent app even works on my original iPad which has GPS but no cell service or contract One more backup to chart plotter                 Very helpful
Used this app with my Bad Elf Bluetooth GPS system We had a Raymarine chart plotter on the 45 foot sailboat we chartered out of St PetersburgFL Our setup Bad Elf and marine charts app worked way better than the boats Chartplotter which was 5 years old and not updated With this app and the Bad Elf we had complete control of our navigation durning our trip off shore and through the narrow channels like Pass A Grill sailing to Gulfport Plus it was fun and easy to use It worked flawlessly blue tooth connection instantly to app and no jumping or crashing of the app                 Amazing app
