This camera app for iPhone is good but I am experiencing the issue where the video freezes up for about two seconds at a time no matter what camera settings that I am running Even when I am playing the video back on my iPhone it the video is still frozen for two seconds at a time If this is my fault then I am sorry developers otherwise I hope this gets fixed It is still a wonderful camera app and I would advise people to purchase it Good but there is an issue SpencerOnion

I ve been using Mavis for the last 5 months for recording product reviews and macro style videos The manual focus focus peaking work perfect for my needs and I really enjoy using them I also love the new features in the latest update Zoom works great and the function button is perfect The only comment I would make today is that I recently purchased an iPad Pro 10 5 and would absolutely love it if the app supported the native screen resolution I assume this would allow more on screen Function buttons and capabilities as well That giant viewfinder can be really nice for certain shots I d be willing to buy an iPad specific version This app makes my iPhone 7 my primary video camera Keep up the good work You guys are awesome The Best Video App UltimateOwnage

I am a 20 year cinematographer and I have worked with various camera systems I ve been working with Camera apps for many years and I have to say this is one of the most impressive ones yet Everything I need to create great shots it s right here at my fingertips Great job A few small flaws that I m sure can be resolved Stabilization on iPhone 8 Plus is not working Would LOVE to have a remote control app to complement this camera That would totally be all the way amazing Wonderful FULL PROFESSIONAL camera app JYSpro

I have used MAVIS for about a month and have shot a couple hundered clips The clips vary in length from a few seconds to 20 minutes I have never lost a clip Even when I accidentally turned the phone off during recording the clip was saved to the apps file sharing feature I appreciate the stability of the app I am shooting on a 7 Tech support has been great as well I contacted twice and they were very helpful Update August 2017 Used Mavis app with Moondog Labs anamorphic lens on iPhone 7 plus to film a Scottish wedding Recorded over 300 clips and 34 gigs in an 11 hour period with no issues Very stable app Looking forward to the new updated app for IOS 11 Great stable app top of steel

I hope to get a refund Target focus will not automatically track your subject or an object This is just a glorified lighting app I don t need to know the light I need an app that helps with capturing video professionally The manual operations are not helpful Target Focus will not move automatically Jermwork IG

Every time I open Mavis I m impressed I do agree with another poster that white balance dialing in is tougher than it should be but the scopes assists and controls more than make up for some fiddling to correct W B I ve been happy in post as well with decent dynamic range capture and its ease syncing audio recorded on separate system Great job developers keep up the excellent work and if possible just a trigger would be nice V F and focus adjust too on the Apple Watch too Keep up the excellent work My favorite for motion AlaskaJaxx

I absolutely love everything about this app It was everything I hoped it would be except the only thing that I want is to be able to zoom in If you put expanded focus it appears to be zoomed in but when I look on the camera roll it isn t That s really the only thing and this app is great Great Kentchup

I really enjoy using this app and like it saves directly to camera roll without having to export it manually Love the scopes and audio meter Manual White Balance is not easy to dial in I wish the app would have the common WB temps ready to select or an easier number slider and same with color shift I would like to see a horizontal and vertical tilt on screen I would like manual target exposure and auto focus to be separate on screen selection squares Also another competing app has an on screen button to hold down and the camera adjusts white balance quickly based up selection point on screen it s much better than WB in this app and would be a welcome addition My Go To Video App 1Review2RuleThemAll

Overall a nice video app that saves the recording specs I choose every time I open it One thing I d love to see is some smooth zooming controls Current version extremely stable not one crash and everything works Pretty good GTRyan

This app has so much control FPS shutter speed ISO full range manual focus you can focus closer to the lens with this than other apps focus peaking zebra false color histogram waveform 100mbps 4K white balance stabilization off for true full sensor field of view The interface is fluid and quick It s right on point for filmmakers The truly professional video shooters app Matt Lundstrom

I was concerned that this would be a difficult app to learn to use and with the price as another factor I had to take some time to think before I got the app Now that I have it I can safely say that this was one of the best apps I have ever purchased The quality is superb and the controls are actually very simple Brilliant yet so simple to use TC Studios

This app is fantastic It has options for things that no other app has This app not only shoots 4k but it lets you choose the FPS Small note 4k only goes up to 30fps but the 1080p can shoot up to 60fpsit also shoots 2k which is awesome This app also lets you choose the temperature and color of your video Overall the price is reasonable for the app because it gives you options that no other apps such as videon and procam 2 have My only small issue is that it sometimes crashes on my iPhone 6 but I know its being fixed so it isnt much of an issue Final note the customer service is amazing I got a quick response and they helped fix my original problem with the last version To the creators of this app keep it up you are doing great Perfect for mobile Filmmaking

Pros Manual Focus Focus Peaking Video Scopes Full Manual Cons No Zoom Unstable at times No Record Pause No manual audio controls My 1st impression was great even though the first time I opened the app it showed a black screen in the viewer all settings proper iso shutter etc Im shooting on my iPhone 6s Plus 128GB with no background apps running its unstable I like the flexible of all the manual settings like my DSLR I also like focus peaking like Magic Lantern running on my DSLRs Its the only video app with video scopes Great app so far I just wish it was more stable for me to use in pro work Worth the price Ill update this review as I continue to use it So far its a 35 stars Update 1 No zoom I wish the scopes controls were overlays instead of their own LARGE windows Please take notes from Magic Lantern firmware on Canon DSLR apply that User Interface into this appI believe youll beat FilmicPro if you implement these suggestions give an introductory price of 999 with in app purchases for extra features like more video scopes zoom overlay colors manual audio level controls more codecs Overall the developers are on the right track to one of the best filmmaker videomaker apps I hope youll be featured one day Great filming app but unstable at times
