Sooo Awesome I dont play any other games because this one is so good it puts the rest to shame The Ipad HD version is so much better than the original even though I didnt think they could improve such a great game they did in leaps and bounds The graphics are off the charts and the music is better The controls are more responsive everything has been redone and better Thanks for the awesome game 499 is a great price for so much                 OH MY GOD

This game raised the expectations of this genre However it is similar the PSP game Super Stardust portableHD Nonetheless it still exceeds my expectations for the price Its claims in the screenshots seem flashy but are completely true It is probably the best top down app in the AppStore for iPad Because it does not need to load one can pick up and play it anywhere at any time and that is the reason why this game it so great to developers I love this game please make more good games worth my money like this one                 Wow

I absolutely love this game It reminds me a lot in the best way of titles like Asteroids and Super Stardust HD The graphics are excellent and the controls are extremely fast and precise some of the best controls Ive used for this type of game on any platform Definitely worth the asking price Keep up the good work                 Excellent Arcade Gaming

Cool this is like geometry wars galaxies remixed But way better and cheap too Love the fact that u can upgrade your weapons and stats and pauses when you take off your thumbs So if you have a iPad GET THIS GAME ok bye                 AWSOME

Charged me 5 bucks then wouldnt install now it acts like I didnt pay for it I loved the free version but this one is too glitchy     Horrible

I spend Alot of time looking for that one app that will keep me hooked on my ipad and i finnaly found it and have to say its worth every penny Its a really cool game and i never get tired from playing it                 Amazing

The game overall is pretty good at the beginner and intermediate levels once you are at the higher bonus points in the Pro survivor mode it starts to lag badly One workaround that helps a bit is to disable the network eventually even this will not be sufficient because number of objects on the screen seem to overwhelm the CPU processing power           Good but laggy at higher levels

The new update fixed everything Not only is it the same awesome game as before its even better A big thanks to Hubert Lead Developer for getting back to me immediately to address my issues and fixing one of them right away now omitted from this review That would be the highest level of support I have ever received from any software company                 Awesome game

I cant believe how addictive this game is I thought I would give it a try since I never played it on the iPhone and I played it for over an hour without realizing A total adrenaline rush and a ton of fun                 So addictive

Graphics 5 This is a HD version of Meteor Blitz but its not just a resize of the sprites They maintain most of their original size but now you have 50 more playing field to see what is happening The particles have been enhanced and updated for the HD version and you have more impressive explosions for example the red ships now explode red particle dust out the opposite side of your gun fire There is also a new blur FX that shows up when you grab the slow powerup A nice addition to show when the powerup is in effect Controls 5 The placement of controls is perfect and a very important concept in a dual stick shooter Your standard moves are still here double tap shoot for gravity gun double tap thrust for speed burst plus very tight controls for slow flying and dodging between meteors and enemy space ships You also have an array of customization like shaking for speed burst or bomb gravity gun on all the time etc Future updates will also include movable controls for those who arent satisfied with just the default positions Sound 4 Same sounds as iphone version No real changes that I could see but one nice feature is that I can play my iPod music in the background The game is actually way better when I am listening to a bass pumping soundtrack and blasting meteors at the same time I like that you can turn the music in game off and not affect your sounds for shooting meteors or listening to ipod music Gameplay 5 Great game for people to play through the levels 11 to 55 25 levels Has a nice RPG effect where you can upgrade individual items lasers speed gravity gun etc and once you are done playing through the campaign levels there is survival mode which I like to play and gives the game replay value Overall 5 if you are on the fence about upgrading to the HD version you have to decide if the tighter controls better graphics and larger playing field are for you If you play ANY meteor blitz on the iPad even the 2x pixel doubled version you absolutely have to upgrade There is no reason to ever play 2x when for the price of a fast food value meal you could be rockin the HD meteor blitz ps I dont work for Alleyway labs I just wanted to write a thoughtful review on my favorite game for iPad iPhone                 Worthy Upgrade

I have been an loyal fan of meteor blitz on iPhone And This version is exactly what I am looking for on a iPad I bought it immediately and after 1 and a half our I am ranked no3 globally player name donalone I am lucky because there are not many players on iPad version yet What I think can improve the game play is to add some different themeenvironment What if the fight is above a city What about its around a huge mothership in space                 Best shooting game on iPhoneiPad

Theres eveything to like and virtually nothing to dislike about this beautiful game You know the genre and it is clear about what it isa combination of Asteroids and Robotron with gorgeous graphics and powerups This is one high quality piece of workI just wish that I could get the hang of the left movement control which seemed sticky to me Moreover because of all of the powerup and bombspecial ability options the right side of the controls take a little getting used to but the left movement control gave me the most trouble Either I need to practice hella more or the control really is sticky After I spend more time with it and find that Ive mastered that control I will definitely raise my rating to 5 stars Keep in mind that Meteor Blitz HD is still better than most of the estimated 5060 games that Ive purchased from iTunes over the years              A beautiful piece of programming but hard to play

Why are you charging twice for the same app to be played on the same operating system just because the screen is a different size     Nice shooter but its not universal

update I wish I could log on to TA As Im sure anyone reading this review does too But if your reading the reviews Alley Labs devs To the question you asked should there be a amateur mode Yes Not that I think the learning curve is to steep but I find a mediocre mode and a hardcore mode though I currently hold rank 1 in arcade but Im sure Ive been taken by now I find alot of replay value comes out of being able to cycle through all of the difficulty levels depending on how you feel and want to play for said experience Also what you want to do is even better making the shield regenerate because it doesnt take away the high octane gameplay enemies on screen or diminish the skill set of the player If you decide to do it can you also add it for survival there it would be far more suitable because you only allow ring and slow power ups I think shield is in there to but no life or bomb upgrade I hope you change that add life and bomb in survival too so we have the greatest possibility to survive as long as possible great job though as is I dont think Ive ever updated a review so many times and to other readers sorry if I come off funky when criticizing or commenting on someone elses rev when I went back to geometry wars revs I see how some people felt those controls are perfect so the bottom line is people have different size hands play styles and what not so regardless if Meteor Blitz HD controls are tight the best to date on the pad and any console I have played of this genre someone else is bound to feel the exact opposite for what ever reason and I apologize before hand for my ignorance in not realizing that before and in the future Update okay I dont know what that one reviewer is talking about the controls are horrible I dont even think the controls need to be modified personally I maneuver in and out of tight spots better than any game on any console of this genre I have ever played EVER But what I would like to see is the same load out of upgrades in Arcade for survival right now in survival the only upgrades you get are slow and rings why is that In survival you should also get life and bomb just like in arcade As it is you will enjoy playing the arcade like survival and the survival is useless if your trying to max out your arsenal for topped out gameplaymaximum AI to Player arsenal to enemies on screen Also tho I havent went back to survival yet since I unlocked the rest of the maps but is the survival just one backround Because it would be nice if the backrounds were progressive But really honestly this is the perfect game The only thing that would make it better is a part 2 Again I dont understand how that one reviewer felt the controls were horrid and someone else on touch arcade mentioned a similar experience its like someone saying they do t like ice cream because it taste like dog poo Im not saying everyone has to like ice cream but I think most would agree that regardless it doesnt taste like dog poo My advice is to delete reinstall power off and on again because to say these controls are horrid is like saying white is black so its obvious you must have a bad install also make sure you have enough memory and by enough I mean I find the iPad functions far better with fewer apps and media opposed to the iPhone which is strange But iTunes the AppStore safari all run and load up faster with the least amount of content and app that randomly access the web wether you launch them or not But anyway I hope that might help doesnt hurt to try Or good bye I should say And I know MBHD its actually like superstardust HD for the psp but I just wanted to take a shot at what is a disgusting show of poor development by a big time dev Activision Meteor blitz HD is officially the best duel stick arena shooter for the iPad Geometry wars touch or whatever it was called is probably the worst I have played yet control wise But to this game everything is clutch Dss have arrived on the iPad and it is a work of art at least MBHD is It looks and runs beautiful I just have to thank the dev for taking time to make a functional HD game with no hiccups Every single HD title from the big boys seems half hazard in some aspect of or another slow frame rate sticky controls cant play your own music for petes sake Etc Well I hope activation and the rest of the good for nothing money grubbing big companies take a close look at this game THIS IS WHAT HUMANS CALL A QUALITY GAME and I say all the big name devs should look at how this game loosely regardless of genre because for a DSS to play correctly the controls have to be extremely precise more so than controls for almost any other genre alley labs has done a magnificent job of developing a more than awesome duel stick for the iPad if you had it on the iPhone and I rarely say this delete it and buy the HD version No there is no new content but just like real racing they didnt spit on the iPhone version wipe it off with a dirty old rag and call it HD They took the time to actually play the game more less polish the living bejesus out of it so not only do you get a beautiful game but one you can actually play with the same precision and fluidity as the iPhone version For those of you wondering about the feel when handling the iPad it felt as natural as the iPhone IMO but keep in mind for the life of me I dont see how ppl think the iPad is to heavy someone said their arms hurt after playing real racing for awhile Ok But to me aside from sigma and and land air and sea warfare both of which arent even HD titles more less even universal and only because Ive played real racing to death this is the best thing going for the iPad to date so if you consider yourself more than a casual gamer return your iPad if you dont get this game                 Geometry Wars has officially been deleted from my Ipad

which really isnt much of a complaint I noticed that once you beat the game if you didnt fully power up then youll never be fully powered up I would love the option of going through the game full power The only way to do this would be to play through the game and play perfectly and collect all rings If you power up fully before the last stage you can continuously play the last stage at full power but still Id like the option to be able to play the levels with full powered up guns and power ups              Fantastic Game Only One Complaint

Lets just say I hate this game I havent been able to do anything but this since i bought it I never thought Id buy an app for my iPad but after beating the trial version 3 times i changed my mind The gameplay is fast the graphics are great and the controls are amazing Havent found any bugs and the gameplay is amazingly smooth Easily a fivestar game                 Addicting

Revision Think my iPad somehow downloaded the previous version when I tapped to download the update Said I had an update a few minutes after I wrote the below Great updates Love the game A little confused about the update I dont see where to set EasyHard mode I cant tell the difference in the updated version What is a Parallax Display I cant tell a difference with it on or off Suggestions I love how the game gets harder when you beat the all the levels Would like hard mode to be enabled this way and be able to continue in hard mode even after being killed Maybe add a badge to the stage that has been enabled in hard mode to know where you left off Rings should stay active until ship is destroyed regardless if the stage has been cleared When capturing an item with he gravity gun it should act as a directional shield that can take a hit and be destroyed when it does the bigger the item the more hits it can take When shooting an ice meteor at a fire meteor and vice versa it should cause massive damage to the fire meteor and even bulldoze others in the path Getting smaller and doing less damage the more items it hits Causing a fireworks display when doing so would be awesome Would love to see a bonus item that for a limited time causes all weapons to be fired at once                 11 Update and suggestions

I downloaded this last night and played it until I couldnt move my hands anymore The graphics are great the sound and music keeps you excited and the virtual controls on the Ipad are fantastic It is also a great application to show off the power of the Ipad to your friends Well Done                 A great and addiciting game

The graphics on this game are absolutely STUNNING Its clear that they took the effort to upgrade the textures and particle effects for the HD version and it looks absolutely amazing on the iPad Controls were perfect I was a little worried about playing a dual stick shooter on the iPad but I was able to make it to the 3rd world on my first game Framerate is super smooth even with hundreds of enemies on the screen and all the great particle effects A must buy at this price                 Stunning

My absolute favorite shooter next to Monsters VS Aliens I am a huge fan of the original and I am in love with this version I love the Parallax scrolling In fact I am shocked that people actually turn it off I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this amazing game Buy it now you wont regret it                 YES

Without a doubt this is one of the best games on the iPhone or iPad Incredibly intense action accurate controls smooth gameplay and the best part some of the best gameplay available on the iPad Five stars is not enough of a rating This game really stand out above the rest It has me coming back over and over again most games I either get tired of or once I finish I never go back and play again Cant wait to see some addons for this game or some other projects from Alley Labs                 Hands down the best game

Liked this game on the iPhone but my thumbs always got in the way of me doing better and getting to higher levels Now on the spacious iPad that problem is a thing of the past and I have gotten much higher in level because of extra window size Well with the upgrade from the iPhone version                 Better on the iPad Much Better

When I first got this game I felt feh about it I was wowed by the graphics but what I really wanted was geometry wars After buying and playing GW Touch I came back to Meteor Blitz and MB is by far the best version of one of these games Ive played The controls are fantastic the first set of onscreen joysticks Ive used that have become intuitive Dont even have to think about the controls I got used to them so quickly The graphics are awesome very crisp and vivid I love the fire gun The guns seem to be more about pick your playing style and for me I liken up close aggressive nature of the fire gun Autopause is a genius feature and I love you for it All in all this is probably my favorite single player iPad game                 Magnificent

This game beats Geometry Wars handsdown for the simple reason of being able to collect coins to upgrade weapons The controls are a lot easier too                 So much better than Geometry Wars

So far the game has kept me coming back for about two weeks the only problem is that I find myself only upgrading one or two things per game because the speed grav gun and booster upgrades barely do anything I suggest either increasing the effectiveness of each upgrade or simply add more such as shield strength or entirely new weapons              Entertaining

This game is loaded with old school style and the result is a game that is immersive and compelling Tons of fun Very polished graphics are superb upgrade system keeps it interesting Great for a quick pickupandplay Addictive And its made in Vietnam I was on the fence with this game until the 11 update which fixed a few issues and added some needed features If youve looked at this title before and hesitated just click buy and start playing You wont regret it                 Old school awesome

If you go back levels to accumulate pts for upgrades the autosave gets screwy and dumps your upgrades It would Be nice if it saved your highest upgrades Also there are no difficulty levels which could help for some more relaxed play           Multiple games or save upgrades difficulty levels
