Mixtikl FREE - Best 12 Track Mixer of Audio Loops, Generative Music & FX

This app used to be kinda cool and the developers have completely destroyed it Too badit had potential     like others have said

Three minutes Really I was still going though the menus trying to kill the distracting and silly word display when it informed me that my three minutes of playing time were up No sweat Before a fourth minute had passed I deleted it Minute five brought me here for a one star review Thats enough time wasted     Useless Demo Three minutes play time not recording

I LOVE the app it is so much fun                 No complaints here

This was a pretty interesting app I was still trying it out to see if I could get the sound I wanted out of it but when I updated to check out the new features it completely hobbled the app and I cant really make anything new anymore It already only let you play for 2 minutes did they really need to use an update to make it useless In addition the new word visualization thing is seriously lame     Dont update to version 5

I know its tough to generate music randomly without it sounding robotic and awful but I am very pleased to have a song I saved on my first random generation Thank you so much for letting me finally create music without an exhausting incomplete demanding and otherwise unhappy creative experience                 Very nice starting in

I have been slowly learning this synth have begun to come up with some lovely moving Ambient timbres one of which is becoming a wonderful background to a new Ash Fallen Brightly song for my next album along with using Waldorfs Nave for a lovely pad like lead to go along with it Highly inspiring once you begin to understand this synth Keep up the great work also thanks for making it compatible with Audiobus again                 Such a Lovely Synth

Not worth it     No

This demo will nag you constantly with a popup on every screen and you only get to play with it for 2 minutes There looks like there are a lot of interesting features to explore but the counterintuitive controls knobs do not behave like they do in other apps will keep you from doing that in 2 minutes It looks like it was designed for the smaller iOS devices and that is crippling the UI for iPad You shouldnt have to go 6 pages deep to change an envelope     Dont waste your time

I was really turned off by the IAP model from the previous version Just bought the bundle now that its a paid app that fully unlocks I had the older iOS Mixtikl and really enjoyed it                 Thanks for making this a paid app

In music creation the rule of thumb is that the more powerful the software the less intuitive the user interface Lets just say this app is very powerful then Its unlike the other music apps in the Store and a competent electronic music artist could produce high quality interesting work with it If generative music composition is your field this is THE iPad app and the existence of a desktop version means that the learning curve is rewarded with not just an app to use on the go but a viable piece of desktop software too Now the bad the UI is a catastrophe and the documentation isnt nearly good enough to compensate Yeah the UI is probably just going to be difficult with a program like thisnonlinear music creation is never going to be easy to layoutbut since none of us is going to take a college class to learn to use a freaking iPad app Intermorphic needs a better solution to its learning curve A good first step would be a beginners guide separate from the rest of the documentation that does a stepbystep creation of a simple piece that takes advantage of 34 of Mixtikls features Just enough to make newbies less overwhelmed when they go off to explore by themselves The best way of course would be to code a tutorial that does the same Guiding the user with arrows and onscreen instructions would be the iOS best practices way of teaching new users how to get the most out of the app and it would allow for the teaching of most of Mixtikls features more than you could really put in a beginners guide without the guide becoming nightmarishly long So users if youre comfortable with a nasty learning curve and an unintuitive UI this is a wonderful robust interesting app whose Audiobus compatibility allows for tremendous musical potential as well as live nonlinear and generative electronic performances Intermorphic your first step is to rewrite the docs Then create a beginner guide Finally while youre at work on Mixtikl 6 get a code monkey to build a walk through You do that and this app will finally get the popularity it richly deserves              Great program but would be more popular if it had a tutorial

Ive listened to Hearts of Space on my local NPR station for years Here is a program that allows for the kind of mystical musical antidote to every other synth and DAW Ive ever used Beyond Bravo to the creator                 HOS

This app is amazing It has lots of parameters and sounds so it takes a little messing with it to figure it out I still havent completely figured it out One feature I love is that you can leave the program and it will continue to play in the background allowing you to open other music applications and play both at the same time Its lots of fun                 Beautiful

I thought it was needed to finally bring my review to the table for this app demo I found that I have watched Mixtikl for a while not really knowing too much about it and what it does After using the lite version for quite a while I can honestly say the demo did the trick I was able to figure out how the file system works How the sounds are generated and generally what to expect with this app A good sign a lite version has done its job is that it leaves you wanting more I say this because the app imposes a 2 minute time restriction on any song you start to create I found that just when I started to get the song going and things were sounding very cool the time would run out and I would have to start over This did the trick and I wanted to immediately go and buy the full version The other reviewer stated that the app was loaded with nothing but popups The truth is that the help guides to pop up and ask you to go to safari to read them The first couple of times I clicked these menus I learned that I no longer need to keep touching them If you know that a certain button will trigger a safari link then why keep pushing the same button Once you learn what menus you need to be in to work the demo then pop ups should not be an issue I was more bummed about the time limitI wanted to tweak effects and add modules Bottom line if you look at the full app and the things people have to say about it then thats the truth right there This app is just the same app with a few key features on limit Try it out and you will see if it fits in with your style of music making If not then pass and move on Dont rate a app the lowest it can get just because one thing was bugging you Very cool appvery good pricerespect these developers they have been working for the music community for a while and they try to make things better as often as they can I also hear that the forumthe one that the pop ups send you to are one of the best in the biz So use it Learn it Live it Love it Im out Later                 Great demo
