Great concept that would be really important to me if it worked more reliably On my Late 2013 MacBook Pro OS X Sierra 10 12 4 selecting multiple messages at once for filing causes this App to choke One or three at a time is usually successful but the more messages that are selected for filing the more likely that it will leave some of them behind without filing them It s kind of pokey too             Chokes when filing multiple messages at once MarsigliaNOLA

This app lets you quickly file emails in mailboxes with keyboard shortcuts I have a large hierarchy of mailboxes in 7 email accounts Gmail and generic IMAP so for me is a huge time saver I ve used it to file 374 messages in just the last few days It also does other things like let you open mailboxes with shortcuts and create new mailboxes on the fly Nice added bonuses The developer is also very responsive and friendly While I m giving it a 5 star rating I hope the developer fixes two bugs 1 the recents feature doesn t work when restricting mailboxes to the current account Still in actual use I don t notice that not working so much 2 The other bug is more annooying an error message that pops up when creating a nested mailbox That one I really hope he fixes Basically finding and filing in mailboxes works very well and is extremely fast I had been a Mail Act On user but it stopped working with Yosemite for the case where you have a Japanese keyboard installed I love indev too They are really nice and responsive But they indicated they cannot fix that bug and refunded my money If you are not using foreign language keyboards their software is also great More expensive but very nice However I had been using Mail Act On just for the filing shortcuts and it was no longer working MsgFiler has no problems in finding English and Japanese mailboxes One note Some people might think 10 is a high price for an app which just files That was my original reaction too and I was hesitant about trying it But I contacted the developer asked a few questions he responded quickly and pointed me to a deprecated plugin version I could test with first I was hooked and purchased right away If you haven t tried filing mails with a couple of keystrokes you probably don t yet appreciate how much of a time saver this is over drag and drop or going through the hierarchical menu as we must in iOS or even using the clumsy CMD Shift keyboard shortcut for moving mails If you have a large hierarchy of mailboxes and multiple email accounts this is definitely a huge timesaver So for heavy Mail users I would say it is worth it And I hope the developer updates it soon with those couple of needed fixes                     A really useful time saving filing tool In Situ

I have at least 40 offline mail folders on my Mac Dragging and dropping was a total pain especially when dealing with subfolders This app is worth every penny and then some Can t recommend it enough To really get the most out of it you should go to their website There are a few things you can do to make it even faster though it does require some terminal commands The instructions were very clear though so it went without a hitch Suddenly the default mail client is better than all the rest Enjoy                     Inbox Zero Finally PaulnPtld

This is a very silly little app I just dont get the whole idea behind it It is not intuitive at all not very easy to use its a pain to keep it either open on top of mail or to open it every time I am not understanding whats wrong with drag and drop What s wrong with the built in mail filter that can move multiple messages to a mail box This is probably the worst thing i spent 10 on not only in the app store but anywhere I am giving it an extra star for the marketing effort The video promo on the developer site was actually able to convince me that i need this or at least to try it The promo is pushing the time saving aspect of the app Actually the built in engine in MAC mail is a lot easier and better BOO HOO i guess         Just Don t Get it for 10 Eurodwn

I have used this app for years It s great and saves a lot of time When it first appeared on the App Store it originally was just a normal program you downloaded from the developer s website it became so slow on Snow Leopard that it was un usable But I ve since upgraded my system to Mountain Lion and upgrade MsgFiler to the most recent version including the MsgFiler Engine program which you ll want to download from the developer s site and it s back to its original snappy self Very delighted                     Works great on Mountain Lion jordanlev

If you have any trouble or doubts about this app go to the web site and be sure you have it installed configured properly Because of the way Lion is structured and the way a program like this has to operate you need to install the engine separately and configure but when you do it will instantly give you access to all the mailboxes and mail you have I have over 1100 mailboxes and 25 GB of mail and it still is instant in calling up moving copying or jumping to a mailbox to file or look                     There is nothing like this app instant filing of email with over 1100 mailboxes Pimpernel

I ve used MailTags and MailActOn for years and they are fine apps that make handling emails a lot easier But MsgFiler is no my go to addon for all mail filing needs If you archive your mail in folders do yourself a favor and buy MsgFiler If you want to add keywords to your emails or you want fancy hot key driven rules then by all means also get MailTags and MailActOn but try MsgFiler first You may not need anything more                     A must own app for Mac mail the weeb

This is an amazing app Huge thanks to the developers On Lion you must install the Engine on top of the MsgFiler App to make it work smoothly Notes for developer 1 integrate the Engine and the MsgFiler App so you don t have to install 2 things 2 the app has some UI glitches when Mail app is in full screen mode This is not a big deal for me because I can t stand running Mail on full screen mode anyway                     fantastic app think ahead sandimas

This program is such a great idea and the execution is flawless in all but one area It seems that on LION OSX it just drags and drags on As soon as i file two mails it hangs up and the spinning carousel comes up It s such a shame because it is so inutitive and after a few moments I got a hang of the program PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix this hang up on Lion I m looking forward to reducing my time sorting through mail Until they fix it I am giving it 2 stars 2 Stars for idea and interface 3 for total uselessness you spend more time waiting for it to work         Great Program But Very Slow on LION OSX Drace1

In the last months I have been transitioning from Microsoft Entourage to Apple products iCal Address Book and finally Mail The change to Mail was the hardest as Entourage has the ability to create new folders on the fly when filing emails The lack of this function in Mail almost caused me to go back to Entourage MsgFiler solved the problem and is even faster and more elegant than the new folder function in Entourage ever was MsgFiler has saved me time and is an organizers salvation I have multiple mailboxes and sub mailboxes This app saved my bacon and the support is outstanding Adam answered within hours if not minutes when I had a few questions                     Helped with transition from Entourage to Mail bacon saver peisenmann

MsgFiler is one of those handy little utilities that becomes such an integral part of how you use the system that you forget what it was like before they were installed I have many many years of active e mailing under my belt and many many folders The list can get overwhelming sometimes if I were to try and scroll through it every time I needed to file a message or open a folder but being able to type folder names and the partial matching that allows me to just type the first few characters makes it ninja fast I d go so far as to say that MsgFiler is essential for me to get full use out of Apple Mail rather than a more keyboard oriented but less modern client like Mutt If you like to use the keyboard and especially if you like other partial keyword tools such as LaunchBar Quicksilver or Alfred then you are a prime candidate for MsgFiler Update I first wrote the above review for 3 0 It all still applies to 3 0 4 the only change that has impacted me since then is that the application has gotten a bit faster                     Saves time keystrokes and sanity Dan Ridley Hallock

I was about to remove this app until I went to the website and read the instructions for Lion users This is VERY important there are a few things you have to do besides just install the app from the store if you are using Lion especially if your using an IMAP or GMail account setup Go to the website read the instructions get it working correctly and I guarantee you will love this app Personally I m not a big fan of going through the extra steps but not sure that is entirely the fault of the developer                 Read the Instructions carefully if on Lion beigs

The power and flexibility of MsgFiler is one of two things that keep me from switching to Postbox The wildcard searching for mailboxes saves time and the ability to navigate to a mailbox or create a new subfolder from within MsgFiler are huge time savers I can t say enough about this and for the price you can t go wrong This is a must have in my opinion for anyone with significant daily traffic in his inbox                     Fantastic App Greg Godwin

Overall I like it and will continue using it but with full screen apps which cover Apple s menubar e g VMWare CoRD and JollyFastVNC msgFiler s menubar icon bleeds through and is distracting 24 other third party menubar apps are installed and their icons don t do this so I d guess the developer needs to figure out what his icon does that the others don t do Fix that and it gets 5 stars                 Nice utility but one small nit quantumonion

I am a longtime user of MailHub and like that product but for me this is even better I want a fast way to file messages as I read them and for that purpose this product beats MailHub hands down Its a real positive for me that the interface is not cluttered with ToDo scheduling or other options also with the plugin option I find the filing performance to be great A great value                     Love it sschnell58

I ve used earlier versions of MsgFiler for several years now It was love at first sight and was the missing piece for Apple Mail that made my switch from Eudora to Mail possible and even enjoyable It was tremendously painful figuratively and literally to have to file messages by click and drag I m sure that MsgFiler is helping me avoid a repetitive strain injury The new version available here on the Mac App Store is a nice advance in features The first version 3 0 had a few performance issues but with 3 0 1 all of my problems went away and I m back to being incredibly happy to have this tool Worth way more than the purchase price to me and to anyone who files a lot of their email messages                     My favorite and essential addition to Mail app Alderete

This used to be a great utility It was the simplest little plug in ever It filed my e mail so well It was always available right in Mail I used it constantly Now it s a lousy app that I have to launch every time I want to use it I find it s faster just to drag my messages to the proper folder than to open this app I still have the older utility installed on my work computer and will NEVER move that one to this app I use it constantly But not this one And I hate that if I leave it open it s taking up RAM Why did the developer have to make it an app Is this just a case of You can t sell a non app on the App store I hope not I loved this better before it was an app I do realize that I can still download the plug in but why ruin a good thing by doing this app thing Go and download the Plug in it works so much better             Liked this better as a plug in DrKoob

I ve been long time user of MsgFiler as it fits my quick and not quite dirty message organization style I m a big fan of nested folders for personal work hobbies correspondence finance online purchases etc and without MsgFiler none of it would be possible When MsgFiler broke last month when I upgraded to 10 6 6 and a new MBP Adam was right there with stellar support and fast turnaround with a fix While the 2 x version of the app was smooth and fast the 3 0 1 version seems to still have an occasional stutter as it munches through my large folder database even with the MsgFiler Engine installed Adam has a great track record of constant improvement and I m sure a few more tweaks are ahead to resolve any lingering issues in this major upgrade Don t hesitate buy it now                     Can t live without its CMD 9 goodness lasersailor2023

I ve been using this MsgFiler for about a year starting with 2 07 It was the the best money I had ever spent on a shareware utility I quickly found it was drastically underpriced This new version is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING For being what appears to be a total rewrite the transition to a separate application was very smooth The first update from 3 0 to 3 0 1 fixed EVERYTHING that was annoying me and put me right back where I was Support is fast and very responsive If you use mail app and file everything into folders this is without a doubt a MUST HAVE application You won t regret this purchase                     Absolute must have Spoondogger
