This application contains a list (with images) of mushrooms. It gives very useful information when the network is not available e.g. in the woods
I want more detailed descriptions I want the full version to come out Good but
1 The list of mushrooms is very limited it would be beneficial to have all mushrooms 2 to be able to search by name of mushroom instead of a flip through gallery and 3 it would be great to have a glossary in which you can choose mushrooms by location Thanks Good start
This is my favorite mushiewoom game of all time It is really awsome D okay it is awesome but it is also illegal It copies wikipedia This is a serious error Everyone who reads this please look at what I am saying with the death cap and possibly other mushiewooms Awsomeeeeeeeee
This app provides next to no actual info on the seemingly random collection of mushrooms it contains entries for which might encourage people to make IDs based solely on the included picture This app is pretty worthless at the moment At least it was freebut seriously how hard would it have been to include textual descriptions of yhe mushrooms Dangerously Lacking
When I went camping in Jackson MS I used this app to help me search for mushrooms I had a great find I came back with a bag full of golden chantrelles They were very delicious But never eat any mushrooms without taking a spore print and asking an expert for an second opinion Theres many forums that with nice people that will keep you alivehappy hunting Thanks
App just opens to a pic of a mushroom and no buttons work Deleted Doesnt work
Very helpful app Looking forward to the updates I work for a mycologist whos specialty is wood decay fungi Mushrooms
Installed this app multiple times Opens to one image and thats it Nothing works Deleted Doesnt work
great app cannot wait for the next versionthank you chroom
The good news is that the app creators offer a note which warns us that incorrect mushroom identification can be fatal Theyre right about that And some of the other information here isnt too bad They provide Latin species names and link to additional info on the Web though Wikipedia as a source is questionable
BUT One very serious error in judgment in my opinion is to show any species of Amanita and list its ediblity as GOOD A vaginata or VERY GOOD A caesarea Amanita species include THE most deadly mushrooms known and identification can be very tricky People die regularly from mistaken identificationeven experienced pickers And its an excruciatingly painful drawnout death with multiple organ failures Listing any Amanita as edible without an explicit and very visible warning attached is highly irresponsible
Also I dont like the prominent simplistic labeling that puts edibility at the forefront of identificationGOODVERY GOODBADPOISONOUS This kind of thinking can rush ones judgement Even correctly identified edible fungus species can cause a toxic reaction in persons with unknown sensitivities
You need more than an iPhone to learn about mushroom identification I think the creators of these types of applications should be more focused on offering tools to help people learn about proper identification of fungi and leave edibility as a secondary concern
Encouraging anyone to eat a mushroom that has not been identified with 100 certainty is unethical Not a Killer App but one that can KILL YOU
