Weve been using the My Boat app for not quite a year It has helped greatly in knowing where things are located and where they should be returned It takes some time to load all of the information but that would be the same for any app It has also been very helpful to record details about certain items such as finishes or bottom paint so we purchase the right items when we are away from the sailboat Very useful app
The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the inability to reorder and prioritize items in checklists and reminders I have long lists and like to move completed items to the bottom of the list and keep them as a permanent record of maintenance performed Also the ability to toggle between alphabetized and datespecific checklists and reminders would be a huge improvement to enable users to find things quickly You can waste a lot of time searching through various lists looking for that one item among dozens Other than that I really like the comprehensive information you can organize and store on My Boat Overall its very well thought out and organized Very nice but
This is a comprehensive and useful app It covers all the bases that I want as an occasional sailor I would highlight the Dashboard and the Checklists features but actually everything in there and there is a lot is really useful I have a Cal 29 sailboat and a motorboat that I trailer and I find the way I can swipe between the two is great I thought twice about spending 20 bucks but now Ive used the app I would have ben prepared to pay a lot more Its one of those apps where you just keep finding more and more things it can do This could be the boating app of the year
I like this application and it has great potential But Its not great yet 1 Tankage larger boats often have multiple tanks Water tanks black water tanks and more recently gray water tanks Some boats have more than two fuel tanks 2 Engines my boat for example has two engines and but additionally a generator However there is no provision for listing a generator and its capacities and characteristics separately 3 Engine hours many events related to boat engines and equipment are recorded in terms of engine hours Unfortunately there is no way to record hours Boats dont have odometers I strongly suggest that the developer consult with some boaters for the next version of this app Good But Not Great
Easy to navigate and pleasing to use It has all the right things The ability to build your own check lists is invaluable It even comes preloaded with some check lists to get you started Make sure you complete the whats on my boat section It will save you time and money if you need to find a spare part onboard order a replacement or do maintenance Great social features Share with your friends details about your trip and some great pictures Finally an easy to use and helpful boat app
