While I was able to connect to my DLNA server to play music on my Sony BDP S580 the functionality of the remote app is very limited and the response is almost untolerably slow Basic functions like random play never worked that s not a problem unless you always want to listen to your music in alphabetical order More advanced functions like searching for a song name or a Genius type play are absent I expected an experience something much more like running iTunes through my TV Disappointing I give this two stars because technically I was able to select a song to play and skip to the next one Otherwise it only earned one star from me         Great idea lacking execution cmpnb73

The app is more useful than the remote that comes with the player I ll give it that But it lacks some very basic features Navigation There is no search capability It needs at least an alphabetical index similar to the iphone contacts app I have 7500 songs If I want to play a song by the Talking Heads it takes about 30 seconds to scroll down to the T s because I have to wait for the network to refresh the list as I scroll Shuffle is very limited I want to be able to choose 5 albums and shuffle between them Can t do it with this though this can be done with playlists in the Window s Media Player I would love to open up the Genre list and see a list of albums within it Nope Only an alphabetical list of songs is given LAME     Basic features missing Still asleep
