Really buggy Comically little information available Save your money Wish I had     Terrible

As usual the app has all the great NFT reviews and information but the new version is bulkier to use and not as fast to navigate If Im on the street looking for a store the new version feels more for tourists than NFT And as someone living in the city who will return to places regularly I need bookmarks I like the new map that looks like the standard google map so its more familiar but the writing is tiny Im barely able to make out the street names I also miss the old option of flipping the phone sideways to see a map of neighborhoods to make it easy to find the right neighborhoods With this new version I havent been able to figure out what neighborhood category Charles St And Hudson St Fall under Apparently not the West Village and apparently the Meatpacking district is no longer I give it three stars for the information it provides and no stars for navigation the old app was better           Review

some nice content but missing so much error getting location on my iPhone 3GS perpetually doesnt help thus far has not been much help as a new citizen of the city     really just okay

This used to be my all time favorite app I navigated NYC like a pro and found all kinds of things to do in places to go when I visited the city But something is wrong with the latest version It was not able to located me using the gps one of the best features I used to be able to hit the close by tab and the app would locate me and show me great nearby restaurants landmarks coffee places stores anything I wanted It was so useful Last weekend I was in NYC and got an error message every time I asked to show my location access denied NFT please fix this bug My gps was working fine A different app which showed subway stops near my location was able to pinpoint where I was and tell me how to get where I needed to go so I know the problem was not with my phone the network or the gps              Problem with location in new version

It was helpful in some cases but as of March 2012 much of the info was outdated Some businesses no longer existed and locations had changed Also the map feature which is activated by tilting the phone crashes the program This is extremely frustrating because sometimes you tilt the phone inadvertently Not worth the        Outdated and Defective

I gave this app 5 stars when I first moved to NYC almost 4 years ago The NFT series of books are the best city guides around but you guys are seriously slacking with the app Please update The information in this app is well outdated           Time for an update

The new update seems to have some problemsmainly the maps dont work so you cant find the restaurant and the address listing doesnt include the name of the city So in the SF bay area is Rick and Anns in Berkeley Oakland SF Lets go to the map Oops blank page Hmmmmm        By Jaime Non Pollo

I want to like this app but Im troubled by the missinformation that appears throughout for instance they say The Frick Collection was founded by Jacob Frick It was founded by industrialist Henry Clay Frick More troubling considering the high quality of the print version is that the maps are just okay and are hard to navigate back to the information page from The map app that comes with the iPhone is more helpful for navigation           Bad Information

Hasnt been updated in 18 months     No updates

I just spent 3 weeks in Manhattan and even though I was a tourist I didnt look like one Having my guide book on my iPhone was so wonderful I had loads of fun following the books random suggestions I found different things to doin short I loved it Buy it its great                 Great fun totally worth the price

Perfect integration of information and platform This is a program that makes me glad I shelled out the money for a touch                 Outstanding

The new NFT update is completely online It wont work unless youre online Bring back the old offline app     Dont upgrade

I have the NFT Philadelphia book and I saw an advertisement about the iPhone app so I gladly paid my 799 when I saw All Cities in the title I was super excited so I didnt bother to read the app description Hopefully Philly where our nations Constitution was written will join the ranks of the eight cities already included in this falsely named app     All Cities

Decent for finding a nearby spot on the fly but the lack of information is disappointing I just use it as a starting point and have to look up info about each place online It could use a subway map too Instead of pithy but useless comments about each listing some details would be helpful Im kind of sorry I spent the money        Needs improvement

This is a waste of an app At least I have the old versions granted they are probably outofdate Why are some neighborhoods just GONE Why cant you view a map of neighborhoods like the old city versions And unless Im missing something I dont see that I can view a map within the app and see multiple items stores on the same street for example The stores are still there I can search for them but its very user unfriendly I guess Ill have to look at the books     Horrible nothing like the books or city apps

I love the NFTNYC guide books best guide books on the planet I thought the app would be just as good Sadly its not Thanks for adding Brooklyn though it would help out if the Manhattan Brooklyn neighborhoods were separate instead of mashed together into one list it can be a bit confusing Still waiting for Queens Bronx Staten Island           Prefer the Paper Guide

Overall I like this app quite a lot and have been a fan of the NFT books for several years I think the interface of this app is simple and fine and the stores and landmarks shown are most often great and current My one major complaint though is that the app unlike the print counter part does not include listings for the locations of banks and ATMsa crucial tool for navigating the city I hope NFT has plans to add this to the app           Banks

When you rotate to see the map with neighborhoods and then you select one and rotate it back the info is not centered and half off screen Help        Fix this

Revised October 14 Maps are subpar and buggy Subway stops are listed but no subway map I tried browsing outside NYC search was buggy also Not worth 5 shows potential but developer needs to come up to acceptable standards these are nice guides in print        Looks useful but maps are mediocre

It doesnt even have a listing for banks It is trying to hard to be yelp or citysearch Waste of money Print version is so useful This one I deleted after having it in phone for only 2 days     Trying to be Yelp

I was going to NYC for an interview and since I wasnt staying there long I decided to purchase this NFT NYC app It made picking which places to go and which to not super easy And information was useful to find where I wanted to go The reviews that say not good and dont give a reason for the bad rating are doing other customers like us a disservice This is a great app Buy it if u want to save time and energy looking for places to hang out in New York City                 well worth it

I have loved the printed version of this guide for years However the maps in this app are very buggy and it assumes you are in New York and tries to work based on your location I dont live in NYC anymore and frequently use the guide to plan my trips to NYC the guide wants to believe that I am in NYC This makes it harder to use Another problem is that it assumes that when you are looking for say a restaurant that you are only looking for a restaurant in the neighborhood you are currently in There is no way to search for a restaurant in all of Manhattan If you dont know which neighborhood a restaurant is in this guide is no help to you Also as others have said this app does not have some things that are in the printed guide Banks for instance and it does have some things that the printed guide doesnt eg Farmers Markets I wish that the app and the books had the same information so I wouldnt think I had to take both with me Also I lived in or near NYC for 35 years and have never heard of some of the neighborhoods listed in this guide apparently there is a place called DUMBO in NYC Never heard of it though apparently I lived really close to it If NFT puts more work into this app it could be really great However on my next trip trip to NYC Im taking the printed NFT with me even though this app will be on the iPod Touch in my pocket Looking forward to a much improved app           With some work it could be great

I keep getting an error message saying Error getting location access denied This app is really not helpful if you cant find the cool locations you are near This needs to get fixed asap     Location is not working

I was hoping the app would be a more current easier to use version of the hard copy guide which I adore with walking realtime nav for getting around NYC and finding the locals view of the city Its not current missing many features of the hard copy guide and hard to use to navigate in real time Not really worth the download     Disappointing

I did have NFT New York on my old device but when the app was upgraded for my new device the New York Info is only available when connected to the Internet that makes the app almost useless     No Info Download

I love NFT I love that theres an NFT app I hate that using the map screws up the interface makes the app unusable until you restart the phone or let the app crash Also hate that I paid for something that doesnt work Please fix soon           Buggy like crazy

I already own 2 older print versions so I opted for the updated app versus another book The app hits some basics but not enough details Also theres some overlap of listings between several locations which can get confusing and there seems to be no clear order eg alphabetical to certain lists The book is a gem Get that 1st app 2nd if you have to           Itll do

As a parttime DJ and urban mycologist Im often in outofthe way parts of the city Nft gives me what I need to know is full of interesting nuggets of info and works in the subway to boot                 Great useful app

I use this app when Im in Manhattan visiting family Its easy to use and it has a lot of options places to go where to eat Perfect if youre on the go                 Useful for All

I certainly agree with most of the posters who are complaining about the dated material What bugs me is that the app insists that my neighborhood is Bushwick Although I was born and raised in Bushwickback when it was actually habitablemy current neighborhood is nowhere near it This is a classic example of a NYC app developed by people who are not or could never be New Yorkers I suggest that they hire a real native New Yorker to straighten out the information Their print guide also has tons of mistakes that natives would never make A good attempt but not worth the dough        NFT App Is 2nd Rate

I love NFT I have NFT books and old NFT apps by city This new appversion is very userunfriendly and has much less information 799 for all cities is not worth it if the app doesnt do a good job for any city Whoever came up with this cheapo strategy is ruining NFT and should be fired yesterday Please stick to the high standard NFT is about     The old apps were much better
