Love it              Great app

Update since I wrote last review Penzu has updated and redesigned the app Its a lot cleaner and the pro version includes tags and filtering I still think that the 20year is a bit much for what they provide The only problem Im experiencing with this app is that it always opens in landscape position instead of the portrait position when I closed it Not sure what that is happening Okay while its great to have Penzu as an app I think since they are charging 20 per year for their service that their app could be just as good or even better than other journalnotebook and online services that costs less than 5 This Penzu app doesnt have search filtering by tags or even rich formatting It doesnt mirror the look and feel of the online application You cant even navigate from page to page in your journal You have to keep going back to the menu Thats seriously lame Plus its about time Penzu redesign the front journal cover Its boring Theres a lot of better examples they could learn from This app is a good start but it could be a hella lot better              Good but

Where are the rest of my entries If I am going to take the time to write the tidbits of life it would be quite nice to look at them again this app has the ability to do that on an when we feel like it basis or when they have duped enough people to subscribe to pay their on line storage bills If you want to scribble your life experiences into a place where you may or may not be able to see them in the next six months let alone next 20 years local storage maybe get some paper and pencil not this app Trust is important in the off line and online world Apps like yours will come of age and financials will follow when somebody in this industry comes to terms with that fact     Purpose of a journal

Love being able to write online in a secure cloud that I can sync with all devices Would have given 5 stars but it does have some minor bugs to be worked out but nothing major I use it nearly everyday              Love the app

Penzu is a super awesome way to keep a journal and remind yourself to keep one as well I actually found it online and opened an account I then downloaded the app to my iPhone iPad I have a reminder set up on the app as well because I tend to forget to write a daily entry Its all so very convenient for any writer It is also password protected So its great because you can also guard you thoughts and keep your privacy This is the app you need if you are looking for digital journal that is 1 Easily Accessible 2 Easy to Use 3 Password Protected Now get off iTunes go write in your Penzu Journal                 Get Penzu

This journal goes everywhere and now sends notifications to post every day Since I am not a journalizer I appreciate the tip Very easy to use never loses anything great job                 Great journal

The interface is simple and easy to use as a daily journal which is what I strive for                 A Perfect Digital Journal

Used this app for over a year I like the web access The new design is great Easy to use Did not have the issue others did with losing old journals or entries                 Great new design

if the delete journal button can be further hidden to avoids accidental deletion when doing the settings I almost did it a couple times                 great app room for improvement

Ive been writing regularly using Penzu I found it on a whim and it came at the best time as my handwriting was becoming so bad I could no longer read it I now journal a lot and though not prone to go back and read what I wrote any entry is easily available Penzu is a great app                 Most used app

It will be better if I can make entries with voice but maybe this is for the paid app Meanwhile is cool to use              Fast and easy

I am a new pro member Simple and easy to use I had some problems uploading pictures via the app on my Samsung Galaxy mainly formatting issues I wish they had an option for reorienting any pictures we attach to the journal entry I have noticed people mentioning that Penzu has problems with deleting entriesjournals That makes me quite nervous for journals are meant to be read later on maybe even years down the road It makes no sense to buy a pro membership and find the journalentries are nonexistent I will make back ups for some of my entries but I hope I wont need them              Great overall

I love the entire concept of this app Writing a journal ON YOUR PHONE that no one else can see without your app password How could you get any better than that Needless to say I was super excited about this app But I have been let down majorly My journals journal entries just disappear all of the time and I never get them back Ill write a nice long journal entry after a few days of not writing just to have the entire thing disappear and never be seen again Where do they go It just doesnt make sense to me Fix this one problem and I believe Penzu will be fantastic But Im sick tired of taking my time to write in my journal get all of my feelings out and then have it immediately be erased     Great concept not well delivered

Ive had only a little trouble with it in the few months Ive had it It really is a fantastic journal that can be accessed through email computer tablet and phone                 Love it

I was excited about this journal app It has a solid reputation as an online journal and the app seemed ideal I even paid for a pro membership I had four separate journals set up and had been adding content regularly Then one day i opened the app and all my journals were gone It had somehow reset itself back to a brand new app but I had done nothing at all different to warrant this Now that I see some others lost their journals too I know this wasnt just a glitch on my end Totally 100 UNACCEPTABLE for any journal app to LOSE peoples precious writing     What They Said I lost everything too

I love this app I actually thought it wiped out my entries but all I had to do was update the app and then log out and back in And all my journals were there Thank you Penzu Support                 I thought I lost all my entries but they were still there

Ive been a loyal Penzu user for over 7 years and I am happy to see that you guys made it to where free users can use the app too I hated when I tried about a year ago and it said I couldnt use the app because I wasnt a pro user and it made me so sad The app works wonderfully and quickly and I love it                 Wonderful

The iPad client has really improved All the synching issues have been fixed Plus new functionality has been added checkmarks to show when an item have been saved photo covers for individual journals some rich text formatting and better searching Its almost better than the web client There are still a few items I would like to see like a favorites list or staring entries Also there is still work needed for tags functions However I need to give credit to Penzu for all the improvements performed over the past year Im a fan                 Updating my review to 5 stars

It was said that in the new update this bug is gonna be fixed but nothing happenedits still that waywhen i open the app there is no enteries even my journaleverything just disappeared     Enteries disappeared

Ok so heres whats really up with Penzu In early 2013 I found this app It was simply amazing Im a writer who likes a lot of room and different sections for different parts of a story Im writing I took it upon myself to use this app to write a little piece that was probably as long as a novella once done I had at least 46 chapters in the works as well as multiple other journals with shorter stories on them on this app and I loved it You couldnt export anything though which had me going back and forth copying and pasting my work into emailsbut I lived AND THEN I got the iPhone 6 Everything transferred and I was ecstatic even though Id backed it up by sending copious amounts of emails to myself through copying and pasting and thus deleting all my journals except for the main one I had my big piece in All good right No I decided to update the app and suddenly I lost everything I was devastated but also SO happy I emailed everything to myself beforehand Since then Ive kept up with the updates on Penzu hoping to see something better than what happened on that one deadly update Nothing I go in and theres one journal I try to open another one and it makes me update to Prowhich is complete BS because until I updated I could have numerous journals at once It makes me so mad that they took my favorite writing app and messed it up deleted everything I had and then asked me to pay for it in order to ever see my works again or even have a God forbid second journal Thanks Penzu but no thanks I hope this helps anyone who is considering getting this or buying the Pro version     The honest truth

So penzu is actually a great app minus the fact that they want to charge you per month to keep using it with the pro features Like Its really not worth it without the pro unless youre looking for something basic Its stupid dumb to pay per month just to have a pro diary I can do that for free with a notebook or for a small fee with any other online journal app           Uh You might wanna think about it

This is a great app for journalers and more importantly anyone who wants to customize their diary Its beyond useful its fun                 Best journaling app yet

I love this journal its with me most anywhere I go and since I can type fairly quickly I dont feel like I loose too many thoughts its quicker than writing and never lost for someone else to find Journal on                 Online journal

There isnt much wrong with the app itself and for me it never crashed I really like how focused this service is on privacy Probably my favorite thing about penzu On a more negative note though nearly every feature is reserved for pro members which is annoying Its not even possible to do basic things like contacting support exportingimporting entries tag entries etc with a free account In fact most advertised features are exclusive to pro members Exporting entries should be a free feature seriously Especially since a lot of people report losing all their entries Overall this is a good journaling service some of the better ones imo but there are other apps out there that are completely free while providing the same features           Could be better

I use Penzu for my personal journal my writing journal and an ideasnoteslog for my luthiery business I can add photos which is what I need Works for me Recommended if you prefer an online journal                 Great app for me

Each device you use has the tendency to unknowingly change or throw off the format from the way it is saved on the original device           Good but needs work

72115 Update does not sync at all from my phone Unable to access any entries from my laptop since the phone wont sync manually or with the auto setting Very disappointed in this update I hope it is remedied soon I too have been a Penzu pro user for going on four years and this update is horrible Had I been new to Penzu this update would have turned me way away I do love the calendar feature a lot but as another reviewer said Id rather not have that feature and have Penzu be able to sync like it is supposed to Hoping for a new release that fixes the sync issue ASAP     Echoing others failed update
