This app has not been functioning for quite a while now obviously the developers do not care Its too bad because many rescue organizations rely on this to help get the word out on the many amazing animals that need homes Sad to see nothing has changed in the past year Terrible
While the app is promising there is still work to be done The ability to search by name similar to the site The ability to login like the site to find previous searches or dogs Also if the ability to search by name was added it would be a great addition Like the animals you post some need a little training this app needs a little work There is hope
Location filter does nothing It needs to have a way to add a radius I enter zip city state anything and i get results for pets that are located across the country Other than that its a fine app but i cannot continue the madness of finding great dogs id like to adopt from PA and then find they are located in CA Location does not work
Too bad they cant find someone to fix all their problems because this could be a really awesome app Ive been hoping they would get updates to fix the numerous bugs But no Dont waste your time Crap
I was able to find my lovely cat with the help of this application Unlike the website you cant look for a specific breed or requirement or color of an animal An example on the website you can search for animals that are declawed or house trained and ect You can only look for cat or dogs or another category of animals without narrowing down the selection The favorite option also goes crazy sometimes Great app but needs work
On iPhone 6 app loads only one screen of info and cuts off the descriptions that you do see Tried to use it on different days with no improvementTerrible app deleted it Doesnt work

Idk why there are so many negative reviews on this app it is amazing We are going to adopt a dog soon and this app has been so helpful in looking for a shelter dog It does freeze occasionally but it only happens when I have left the app dont clear my history and come back to it an hour or so later I do have one other complaint Its doesnt have to extra search criteria such as good with kids or housetrained This is annoying because when I find what seems like a great dog and I get all excited the description says at the very end we will not adopt this dog to a household with children under the age of 12 Which is totally fine to say that but on the computer you can prevent being disappointed like that But overall this a GREAT APP and I absolutely love it and it has been a lot of help Thanks petfinder GREAT APP

It is useless on finding a pet by location Despite putting in my location I was getting listings several states away It needs to have a choice of distance or stick to the area entered If its not going to be fixed then remove the option since it doesnt really work as expected Needs Work

This Petfinder app works fine with IOS 8x on an iPhone 5s Location searches work fine with zip codes You may need to search with several nearby zip codes This app appears to use the zip code of the animal shelter or rescue organization If a nearby shelter is in a different zip code than you to find pets you need to enter zip code of the shelter The dog breed descriptions are excellent For people not familiar with a certain breed please read before an adoption Many rescued pets are a mixture of several breeds You might need to read several descriptions Good app how to search by location
If you are searching for a specific breed dont bother It brings up all dogs in your area Does not work
So the idea of this app is better than the actual app There are problems scrolling and you cant see all the information on the animals When everything is fixed Ill definitely try it again Flop but promising

Doesnt organize by distance lets you pick the breed youre searching for and then displays literally everything else cant scroll up and down to read pet profiles only side to side and that usually makes the app crash Yet another fine Purina product Actually zero stars but iTunes wont let me Needs a LOT of work
This app has problems scrolling and viewing the animals info Also when you look at an animals profile it sometimes doesnt remember where you were in the search resultsmaking you go back to the top of the search list I hope they fix these bugs as it is frustrating and makes it difficult to view adoptable animals I also hope Petfinder would provide posting dates of the animal profiles as they can be outdated I wish Petfinder offered customer support to report these bugs as the website is also buggy Concept promising execution lacking

Downloaded it and it works badly cant get breed specific loaded only online you can from the website the website is better than the app it has flaws some people say it works good for them but I deleted and reinstalled it and it still doesnt work for my 5s Deleting this app disappointed in it the website is a lot better
I love the app but whenever I try to use it the screen starts flickering and freezes even when I close the app and open it again it still does it I wish it would work great Keeps freaking out
It doesnt let you limit the geographic search area so doing a search using a Southern California zip code gives results in Northern California and even Texas and Colorado Add that functionality and this would be a five star app since everything else is great Great but

This is such a needed app But I wish I could refine the search better I wish I could exclude certain breeds I wish it would sort by other factors like recently added etc and I hate that it loads in one big piece so if I click a dog I have to then go back and scroll through everything all over again Could be great
Seriously the worst I tried last week and just now I put Arizona and I get a message telling me Nothing matches my search criteria Really Not one dog is available for adoption in all of Arizona USELESS Crap

The most comprehensive app to look for adoptable pets but aggravating as hell Can sort by breed but only by one parameter at a time eg adult border collie large no color etc I think if you search by zip code it will start at that location and move outward Will hang and display cannot load data messages intermittently Also on random days will display new entries never before seen and then on the next use revert back to a list of more familiar ones No option to search by most recent However its much quicker to search than the PC version which takes forever as it only loads 15 entries at a time Buggy
For the access to so many rescue groups Petfinder is the best Unfortunately it seems to get sticky and wont allow you to scroll down to see the details about animals Great info buggy app
I read the reviews thought they may be exaggerationsnopethey were spoton I had this app for a couple of minutes before deleting it Every time I entered info into a search field Id get a message Cant load data Id hit ok continue When I finally hit send I got a message that there are no dogs fitting that description in my area So there were no medium sized baby puppies in my zip codeweird Clearly the app doesnt work Its a shame bc the website doesnt work well on my iphone either This app is terrible
Lots to be desired in this app plenty of ways it could be improved but if youre determined to find a rescue pet this app is invaluable Still much better than searching shelter by shelter Wouldnt have our furever family member without it Could be better
Difficult to use and with major flaw for viewing pets pics and returning to posting frustrating and does not allow feature to filter out non local dog listings So annoying to see all these dogs from Texas but listed in my zip code Terrible
I deleted this app about a year ago because it didnt work 90 of the time After watching the Fox Paws for Cause I downloaded it again to start looking for our 2nd dog again Annnnd it still doesnt work I cant even get my search parameters in before it sends a message ERROR Cannot load data And Mike123454 whatever the heck your user name is no one is crying Were just frustrated because this app is terrible Which is especially disappointing because as another reviewer pointed out most shelters these days use ONLY Petfinder these days so the poor performance of this app complicates matters in a situation where time IS of the essence STILL doesnt work

Woof is a great little app if you are looking for a rescue pet You can choose specific criteria for your search breed age location etc It works well and not buggy Use WOOF Instead
Have had to do a hard restart of my iPod while using this app several times because it freezes the app This time it froze the entire device now I cant get it to turn back on Dont make me go to the apple store Im deleting this app as soon as I can hopefully get my iPod to turn back on BAD BAD APP I love animals but not risking failure of my device again App will break your iPod
