I own a few FipLab products I ve found almost all of their products useful and of good quality It is important to remember that their products are mostly utilities as opposed to full blown apps My expectations of Photo Cleaner were that it would be along the lines of a product like SnapSelect an app once made by Macphun but is no longer available which showed multiple similar images and allowed you to determine which you wanted to keep across multiple file types including RAW by enlarging studying metadata and comparing Photo Clean is a utility for mostly snap shot photographers looking to reduce the number of images taken at the family gathering or the picnic or beach trip or adventure If you are an advancing amateur or pro this is not the app for you Taking into account my overly high expectations Photo Cleaner did not do a very good job of finding similar images It often missed photos even when adjusting the sensitivity and it looks and works like a pre 1 0 app I d suggest holding off until they are able to refine their algorithms for recognizing similar images better and allowing you to see larger images Also from what I can tell it seems that Photo Cleaner only handles jpg jpeg files         Not Yet Underwhelmed MelGreer

While I do think the user interface is a bit cumbersome I attribute a lot of that to being an external application interacting with the Photos application and I m not sure how much tighter a their party developer could make an app interact with an Apple developed app So that being said this worked quite well for me I have a library of around 25 000 pictures in Photos and I know I have some dupes but haven t wanted to invest the time in manually finding them With the accuracy filter adjusted to Highest it did a good job at finding duplicate photos and very similar ones without a bunch of false positives Earlier versions apparently were less capable but this is the only version I ve used and it does what it promises to do effectively and efficiently I especially like the metadata display to right of the screen that allows you to inspect closely the possible differences between located duplicates                 It worked well for me Mr. Don

The very first time I ran this app I was stoked to finally clean up the known issue I have with multiple copies of the same images spread here and there amongst my file folders of 10 years of Mac life So it was with sad surprise and dismay that I realized this app had locked up my 2012 15 2 3 Ghz MacBook Pro with 16gb of RAM and a 512GB Crucial SSD Within a minute the RAM was drained to only 700 kb available I would have grabbed a screenshot but could not get anything to work at all I had to reboot the MacBook and then I tried using the app a 2nd time but with smaller scope fewer folders The only positive thing I can say about this app is it did not crash the system again It did find what it considered to be duplicates And while similar many images were NOT duplicates but simply close And close would be okay if then ensuing process of choosing which was real or memorex was not so laborious I gave up after 1 hour of frustrating attempts to cipher if a photo was a duplicate or close And whether or no it was in a file folder that should it reside in or no Gemini or Duplicate Detective seem to do the same thing but better Sadly Fiplab this app should have spent more time in beta testing as it is not what one would expect from such fine app developers like yourselves     Sadly this app is not very good I had high hopes it would be Montana Santa

Claimed to find about 1500 duplicates in a Photos library of about 18 000 pictures The vast majority of these duplicates were commpletely unrelated Perjhaps it was making a decsion on my photographic skils but it was certainly not finding duplicates in any useful way     More like Wallet Cleaner vcs1225

First let me say that I own a bunch of FipLab s App s I use them often They are great That s why I bought this app and am the first to review I am dissappointed to report that this app DOES NOT WORK The matches it made of photo s were not even close When the matching algorithm is improved I will review again Until then it will sit dormant Let me reiterate though FipLabs track record with me provides hope I sure hope they don t let me down     Great UI that s about it Matching algorithm is HORRIBLE JimmyJoeS
