PocketMoney - checkbook, budgets, expenses

Ive always been a big fan for the older Quicken app and this is Quicken reborn This is truly the cleanest financial app out of them all Everything from the layout of the transaction view with the different shades of each transaction like a regular paper check register to the displaying of all fields such as the memos being visible The way it should be Entering new transactions view is awesome and easy This is really how things should be viewed I really hope someone would continue developing this app at least just to keep it up and running maybe even giving us better graphs display This would really be a waste if it just gets abandon Oh yea How can I forget the desktop app as well what an awesome touch We never use the sync servers service never trust a third party server for reliability but this desktop sync work flawlessly every time Roger                 Simply the best

Do NOT waste your money on this app At least not yet This app is in due for a major update It crashes constantly and it will wear on you Also the app says it can export to OFXQFX file formats but it only exports in QFX From my experience so far the QFX files are not compatible with QEM Quicken Essentials for Mac The accounts I created on PocketMoney PM are cash accounts and do not have Web Connect data so I get an error every time I try to import them Other than these two major issues PM would probably be the best finance app out there since it can store multiple attachments to a transaction multiplephoto receipts it can split transactions it can reconcile transactions and it is very easy to edit transactions and move transactions across accounts I would probably even rate it 5stars Unfortunately from the rumors I have seen on the internet the current owner does not have any intention of fixing all the bugs anytime soon     Constantly crashes and not very compatible with QEM

After The iOS 7 update the application will not stop crashing     Crashing

Using iPad 3 Since update memo input section doesnt work properly The top of the yellow page is covered with a large white border and its impossible to see or edit the text hidden under the border Only the text below this white border is visible At one point this app was flawless Now the bugs never get fixed        Memo input problem

I have been using PocketMoney for so long that I cant even remember And Ive been very pleased until about 6 months ago I understand that the developer passed away last year and Im sorry to hear that However it has been about 9 months since then and it seems that the developers replacement has entirely abandoned the app The app crashes very often and that is entirely unacceptable I rely heavily on this app and have been forced to find an alternative I have decided to switch to the Account 2 app Godspeed to Catamount     No Developer Support

Use this for everything ya it crashes on me once in awhile its annoying but opens up right away with no problems It would be really nice if they had the option for auto decimal though           Could be better

The company is not participating in its user forum and is not responding to or fixing properly submitted bugs It is a VERY GOOD financial app but features were taken away in its iOS7 update and bugs were introduced Ill stick with it for now but I am extremely upset at the total disrespect of the user shown by current management Update 9515 Someone named Nick claims in the forum to be a new owner This happened before with someone named Peter And before him with someone named Eric Nick wont reveal circumstances of alleged ownership transfer Would you buy a product from him        Unsupported Product

The overdue pop up keep showing up I cannot close it Its annoying because I cant use the app please sort this out     The OVERDUE pop up is annoying

Ive been using it for a few years and it was great However The companys founderprogrammer died and all support has ceased It terminates repeatedly I assume because of iOS7 Reports no longer give correct results Charts no longer work Very sad     Use to be great

Ok so I lovED this app until it started crashing all the time This used to meet all of our budget needs and I used it for a few years Sadly Ill be downloading a different budgeting app        Sadly

I have lost my check register 3 times in the past year I have reached out to support because when you set up recurring payments it gives you an alert Sounds good so far right Well when you try to launch the Ap the alert wont let you enter your password so all your data is locked You cant even delete the ap and reload it because the alert still wont let you gain access to your data After wasting my time trying to remember everything that you have entered in the past month I got really frosted I hope apple makes this programmer return what you pay for this ap because this is a problem that support should fix immediately     This AP has serious problems and support is nonexistent

Many crashes can be fixed by changing the default font size click on the Gears then choose Display Options then Themes Change the default font size to 16 I have been using PocketMoney for 45 years and have yet to find another program that provides the rich features of this program The company is in the process of recovery from the founders death and they have hired a new programmer to work on the software Seriously Its worth a look                 Still a Great Program and Crash Help

Crashing almost 67 of the time Click on the crash click on that crash I held out thinking maybe a fix would come but its been months still noting but continuos crashing        CrashORama

Ive used this app for almost 8 years and its been great nothing else like it Since May of 2013 it hasnt been updated and everything seems to have stopped It still works but its getting more and more buggy and crashes often It seems the app is finished and will become increasingly incompatible        Used to be great now its dying

Dates do not enter correctly Also please add function to delete by year and chart showing category expenses payments by year     Please fix

Ok so Im honestly not sure of the exact steps that fix it but some combination of turning repeating transactions on and off creating a test filter and deleting it and opening and closing the app resolves the crashes It eventually comes back again but can be resolved again I wish I could report a series of specific steps involved to resolve it but it seems different each time or at least I havent found the pattern yet I do believe any user defined filters have to be deleted and posting of repeating transactions has to be turned off Below is the process I went through to get to this point Crashes regularly I tried deleting all the extra filters and turned off posting of repeating transactions and that stopped the crashing for awhile but it came back Found another user filter that showed up Deleted it and now it worked again for awhile It started crashing again Turned off repeating transactions in display options accounts Now it seems to be working again Started crashing again Turned on repeating transactions in display options accounts Now it seems to be working again Crashing once again Tried changing the same things I had before with no luck Deleted my saved payees categories IDs from managed lists Still crashing Created a filter and deleted Turned other filter settings on and off and its working again Crashing again This time I turned repeating transactions on and went back then turned repeating transactions off Crashing has stopped              CrashORama

I have had this app for years After iOS 7 it is unusable It crashes when switching accounts and many other places Now I turned on a notification for an item and it wont go away I cant even use the app any more Fix this crap     Crashes constantly

Not that is a big deal When you go into register then list of accounts when you hit an account it crashes or goes to my phone screen My last review didnt post so lets see if this one does     Crash

Welcome back I have tried almost every other fi application since Pocket Money was offline I finally developed my own with a database Now PM is back It works for me Suggestion though is use the iPhone one to put in your info as the ipad version has some glitched Im sure it will be sorted out                 Johnny

I did what Cybershanks suggested and removed all of my filters The crashing when switching accounts stopped This has been and will hopefully continue to be the best finance management app on the market                 Update for iOS 7 causes constant crashing FIXED

I used to love this app but after update it is a nightmare APP installed in my MAC OS is no longer recognizing values after coma too many bugs to be fixed and no answer from support Want my money back     Terrible

I cannot adjust a balance account by typing the popup Enter new balance     No type on Enter new balance

This is by far the best app and the ability to exportimport to Quicken is absolutely critical to me No other app does it as well if at all But it has been abandoned as another reviewer mentioned A shame cause man it was awesome Well it still is awesome just come to terms with current asis and never to be updated state Hopefully future iOS updates dont break it completely                 Best App but Abadoned

This app would definitely be a 5 star app if it didnt crash constantly It crashes every time I open it then seems to work fine after relaunching Support seems to be nonexistant and there have been no updates or attempts to correct the problems since last September Such a shame since it really is a nice app        Could be a 5 star

I have had a problem since the beginning of the year On the post date a deposit comes up as a bill that hasnt been paid There is no way to get out of it other than dropping the app and restarting over and over until I slowly beat the speed of my ipad to get out of my account and into the repeating transactions to delete the transaction I think I figured out the problem I have a debit going to the same company as the deposit I changed one of the names and will see if it happens again next month I have been using pocket money for 3 years and like the improvements This took me over an hour to race the CPU the first time and 30 min Yesterday It would also be nice to enter a debit ahead of time show it in the register but delay the posting until the date it is scheduled to be paid The other is to not put parenthesis around a negative amount but use green and red to show your balance                 Bug in repeating transactions

Most money apps I dont like how you have to go back and forth among the nested menus to create one transaction PocketMoney was really nice in that it had predictive text for the expense categories If you are trying this for the first time I recommend that you never ever create a recurring transaction Once I had this problem with the persistent pop up it is described on the publishers technical support website forum I tried to reinstall my data using iTunes But since it did not work I switched to PocketExpense different publisher Fingers crossed           Nice Interface but Buggy you decide

This app was the best money management app I had found Did a great job of tracking balances in every account Past due bill flag popping up now and cannot log in This needs to be fixed        What a disappointment

I have been using Pocket Money for years on a Palm prior to moving to the iPhone many years ago It is by far the easiest and most efficient money app Ive used It would be great if theyd fix the constant crashing Every time I open and try to access an account the app crashes and I have to reopen the entire app after the 1st crash it will work fine unless I back out of it altogether and try to reopen then it happens all over again Ill continue to use as I love it but the continued crashing is super annoying                 Please fix the constant crashing

I had some doubts based on some reviews but Ive tried a few other checkbook apps that were not dependable and kept messing up my records When I saw that Pocket Money had a desktop app too I thought that sounded useful so I bought both I almost didnt want to leave a review thinking it might jinx me but so far PM is brilliant I love it Its easy to use and PM Sync between the desktop and iPhone apps is fast and dependable Thats all I care about Reconciling goes perfectly                 Best Checkbook app ever

What is up with these guys Guess the successor does not want to keep this app going Sure would be nice to use the repeat transaction once again Some other developer needs to come up with an app like this onewith the fixes and other features we have suggested           Loyal user very disappointed

I love this app and am glad its back on the App Store thanks Nick for letting me know Ill start telling everyone I know about it again There are a couple bugs it does crash some times but its mainly when you switch between accounts And Ive learned that repeating transactions should be added one at a time or the values get confused I just go in and out of of repeating transactions to post them It probably adds a minute once every two weeks In my opinion not something to complain about It could be better but its the best one Ive tried And I tried a lot before selecting this one                 Love this app

Ive been using PM paid version for years and every update generates fixes and or additional fields so Im not sure how come theres some unsatisfied customers and why the low stars Ive also had several crashes due to my mistake but PM was always restored because of the few restore options available so all my PM transactions were easily restored now tell me who other than PM offers that option I also have my own business and PM is the perfect app to own because I use the online app version for Mac to gather all my expenses for tax and itemize purposes                 Satisfied and reliable

I LOVE this app Ive been using it for over 4 years They must have a new one cause I dont know why theres so little reviews This app is unlike many of the other ones I dont know what I would do without this All your transactions are put in here for each account and credit card Everyday I check my accounts then check off in the app that it went through It tells you what has cleared and what is pending It tells you how much you have available in each account I tried many apps and they cannot compare to this app at all You can make it look nicer too My app looks nice and its a pretty purple background Another thing that saves me and makes my life so organized and helps me organize my money is the repeating transactions You can have it automatically add your repeating transactions so you dont forget then it changes your balance and your available balance I dont know what I would do without this app                 Amazing

Ive used this app for years never had any issues until the iOS7 update Anyone can correct me if Im wrong but the developer of this app stated the updated version of PocketMoney could not be released until Apple approved it Apple how could you approve an app that doesnt work properly Yes its true that the developer passed away a year ago his cousin is supposed to take over the company but this does not excuse ignoring your loyal paying customers Many users just want to know if the developer will continue to support the app the company has refused to address this question The last response from the developer was Sept 2013 stating they were waiting on Apple to approve the update If this is true Apple should not allow this app to continue to be sold because its not compatible with iOS7 EXCELLENT app when it worked 12 works now     DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APP

As others have pointed out there are a ton of bugs in the new release This combined with Apples bland and ugly iOS7 make this App really hard to use Account Type Totals Category Time Period Labels and other labels have completely disappeared since its white text on a white background This seems to follow the new Apple theme colors of white gray and blue links instead of buttons only Why have a retina display only to make everything Gray and White Sorry for the side tangent Think I will be looking for a new app and maybe even a new tablet with a different OS on it Wonder if going back in TimeMachine and getting loading the older version of the App will work Hmmmm     Used to love it but not now

Ive tried a ton of finance apps for managing my bills budgets and accounts This is by far the best one for me It does everything I expect it to SINCE iOS 7 roughly I have experience crashing especially when clickingswitching accounts I have found that the app is stable when only managing ONE account For me this is fine my main checking account is where I pay all my bills from Of course I would love to manage my credit cards and saving but I love this app so much that in willing to sacrifice having those for using it                 Amazing App Workaround for crash
