ProximiT: MBTA Subway Assistant

Ive tried a bunch of MBTA trackers This is the one I depend on                 Best in class

ProximiT is one of my favorite public transit apps It only does one thing well two if you count the delay notifications and does it really really well The countdown display to board keeps saving me from missing the train by a few seconds                 Great at what it does

Took 2 minutes to set up the app to track several of my favorite T stops So far predictions have been accurate Now I know exactly when the subway is coming and whether I should hustle my muscle to catch the T or take my sweet sweet time                 Works perfectly

My one issue with this app is that it sometimes wont update with T times This happens every 10 times or so I try to see when my train is coming My email will connect to the network so I must assume its a bug in the app or server Otherwise Im grateful for the accurate wait times and push notifications              Accurate useful

I take the red line everyday and the estimated time is usually spot on or at least really close Very useful                 Great At least for the red line

This is my goto app for Bostonarea travel Really nice UX                 Great app very accurate

This app is fairly goodwhen it works Which probably due to the fact that the T doesnt have all of the Green line trains loaded with gps tracking But it works perfectly on the Orange and Blue lines           Being patient

Very accurate for red and orange Havent really tried green Not sure theres actually a blue line Only heard rumors never seen                 Works Great for Orange and Red Lines

This app is extremely bad The timing for when the train leaves from the redline is 90 wrong most of the time Very unreliable app I tried to find a way to email them before doing this but couldnt find a way Would be great if yall improved this app     Ich Nich So Gut German for it is not good

Im tired that every time I pull out my phone from my pocket to check the T schedule If there is a Glance view on the apple watch that will be very convenient                 Build one for Apple watch

This app is phenomenal Its accurate and gives real time updates Im no longer rushing to South Station hoping to avoid the dreaded train departing as I approach the platform This honestly helps everyday Much better than other apps copycats out there                 Best app

I prefer ProximiT to all other transit apps because its better than all the ones Ive tried at the one task I actually want telling me the arrival times of the next two trains on the one line at the one station that I care about at the moment Highly recommended for regular commuters who use the T in Boston I use it with the Red and Orange lines and its predictions are always spot on                 Does one thing exceptionally well

This app is pretty bad for the green line Its completely untrustworthy As a typical example 15 minutes ago it told me my train was three stops away As I write this review it says the train is two stops away Trains will jump further away from you or disappear entirely Half the time the app cant even load data Sometimes it will tell you the nearest train is 8 stops away only for you to watch one arrive in a minute Other times it will tell you a train is 1 stop away while you sit and wait for it to never arrive Its hard to know for sure if the app is garbage or if it gets garbage data from the MBTA but either way this is mostly a waste of time        Rarely accurate

I use this on the green D line It is okayusually seems fairly accurate The most frustrating thing is the wonky notifications which I dont seem to have any control over I am standing at the brookline village stop right now and have no notifications However whenever I am in my car driving down Kent street a notification pops up Why I also get notifications at random other times that there is a service delay or something I wish I could turn these off but I dont see a way           Notifications are wonky

Love love this app                 Very accurate

Red Blue and Orange line coverage is top notch They are still working to tackle the beast that is the green line Since the MBTA has only recently started to provide train times at select stations the app creators have developed a unique system to provide stops away data as best they can Keep up the hard work                 Best MBTA app available Hands down

I find this app to be very accurate most the part Only a couple of times when the train was a bit early Otherwise thus is the first app I go to when want to know when the next train is coming period                 Awesome

Its probably the Ts fault but using this App on the Green Line is an exercise in frustration The feed appears to be continually behind It also gives me alerts about arriving trains that I dont want and I cant figure out how to stop them its pretty useless to be on the trolly receiving alerts that the trolly is right here Also as of the time of this review the contact link on their website is broken so unless you Twitter your are SOL           A mixed bag on the Green Line

On the orange line app said there was a train coming in 1 min and 6 min I didnt rush for the first train because there was one right behind it I get to the station 5 min go by says the train is arriving wait another minute and now it says the nonexistent train is boarding It is nowhere to be found and now Im stuck here without any clue as to what is going on I also can not communicate with the app to let it know something strange is happening Generally the app is pretty good but to not offer any user feedback is a huge mistake     Not accurate enough

Now only if it worked for buses              Pretty good

They have done a wonderful job creating a simple interface and a very useful app The update to include the new Green Line data has made my daily commute slightly less frustrating Looking forward to the expanded tracking data coming in a few months Keep up the great work                 Great App for the NotSoGreat T

Great UX                 Great App

Works pretty well tells you how many stops away a train is above ground only Some trains seem to be missing the tracker and it will say no trains are coming and all the sudden one shows up I would say 8590 reliable              Pretty good some trains not tracked

Works great Accurate with alerts about service delays that dont depend on my current location so I know before I leave my house or office if theres a delay Accurate when Im near my favorite stations about when my train will arrive Easy to use                 Reliable for the red line

I leave 3 minute walk from a red line T stop I check the time of arrival leave 4 minutes before the train and practically board it upon my arrival Clear interface Technology working                 I Dont Leave Home wo Checking It

This app helps a lot Really accurate subway schedules                 Simple and great

The product largely works but nags sometimes sequentially after being told no for reviews     Okay but shamelessly begs for reviews

This has allowed me to make a train with minimal hustle An not suffer the frustration of doors closing as I get onto the platform              Good info

Live this app Its accurate right down to the last second It says the train is arriving in 3 minutes Just enough time to run to the station and its there                 Perfection

This is the best app out there for the MBTA better than the MBTA itself Not only can I map out a more calculated morning but my life on the Green Line yup the Green Line is a bit less chaotic If you blow by this app youre nuts                 Always accurate scary accurate

I have used several apps for the MBTA subway lines and this is the best to date The app even lets you know when a nearby train is coming It is extremely accurate                 Solid app with clean accessible interface and reliable schedule

Im from out of town wanted a good app to use to get around The app does not allow you to add Lechmere some Green Line stations as favorites Did not meet my expectations at all     Terrible app

For the most part its a great app But you guys really need to get around to adding the Assembly Row stop to the Orange line Its the only one missing but its where I catch the T now People have been using the stop for over 7 months now time to get around to adding it Thanks              Need to add Assembly Row

The app was correct the only time Ive used it so I cant really comment on that but Why does the app need to know my location in the background I only want to know about the train when Im taking the train which is when I open the app I dont need alerts otherwise There should be a while in use option for the location services Draining my battery for no reason              Location Always On

I mostly use it for the red line My only complaint is that I work close to a T stop and the proximity notifications get confused                 Accurate and useful

Pretty good If youre at the either end of each T line though it tells you when the train arrives at the station rather than when it departs Trains typically sits at Oak Grove for about five minutes for example so as long as you take that into account              Good stuff

Does everything perfectly for the trains but the MBTA also makes bus information available Id love to have all of that in one app and not have to jump between two                 Great app Add bus lines

This app is beautiful simple and elegant and gives the exact same estimates that you see on the signs in the stations Easier to use than any other T app Ive tried most of them One tip to preserve battery life disable GPS for this app in the iOS Privacy settings That will disable the automatic notifications too but I havent found them useful                 The best most accurate most elegant of the T trackers

Accurate customizable and easily read This is great and has saved me tons of time The alerts are helpful too so dont turn them off                 Best public transit Ive used of any city
