Reader Plates

The IAPs are great but the seamless charts are even better I fly about 50 in mountainous terrain and to be able to access airway info MOCA MEA so quickly is incredible It is the most intuitive in cockpit chart reader Ive used to date Well done This aviation app is the best value period No fancy stuff simple to use easy to update                 First Rate

I just got my IFR rating This is great all the charts you want on your hand Easy to use                 Wow this is awesome

If youre going to call an app free even if it eventually requires a fee or subscription then you need to be able to evaluate it for free There is no evaluation time for this you have to immediately pay to use it so its not really free So if I am evaluating it as a free app technically it doesnt work at all therefore it gets one star since I cant give it zero stars     Who Knows

This is not free as advertised After downloading app you need to go online and sign up for 10 month to get the data That is deceptive Though paying is ok for 50 less you get so much more from the app Foreflight     Deceptive

I have been a user of ReaderPlates since its inception when it only provided plates and the SONY PRS505 was the only unit supported I was pleased when they started supporting the iPad In my opinion this app is superior to Foreflight HD I have tried both but greatly prefer ReaderPlates as a chart AFD approach plate and weather info tool The interface is superior I really like the colorcoded tabs and the automatic weather info and overlays Great job to the developers You keep making it better and better I will remain a loyal subscriber Keep up the good work The NEXRAD radar is a great upgrade Now all we need to be better than Foreflight Mobile is georef approach plates and interface with a GPSADSB receiver like the Appareo Stratus Then I will bet that people would greatly prefer Reader Plates to Foreflight                 ReaderPlates

Even the evaluation isnt free     Its NOT FREE

This is the best app for using in the plane Easy to use and set up Most of the other apps are too busy Reader plates has hit a perfect balance between information and use For IFR it has no equal                 In a class by itself

Ok after a few hours of working the app its better than when I first considered You can shut off the TRF sigmet airmet overlay so chart refresh is faster They did include my VFR TAC chart suggestion when you select and zoom My one remaining complaint is when you include a Canadian airport in the flight plan itll default to the nearest sounding US airport in the plate selection Otherwise they continue to built value vs their competition If they figure out how to include NavCanada charts theyll have a customer for life Bravo                 Good enhancements but at a performance cost Critic 20

Outstanding application that I routinely use as a Part 121 pilot for enhanced operational awareness Access to an AFD is excellent and gives me info without having to call dispatch which saves time especially on Charter trips to non scheduled airports The Wx and NOTAM feature is awesome This application along with Foreflight are must haves on the IPAD I keep in my flight case                 Best Pure Chart Application out there

Its like getting a free book except all the pages are blank If you want to actually read something you have to spend 10 a month     Not Free

Subscription is 999mo The app looks really cool but there isnt even an inapp interface to read about the subscription they just assume you have an account already There is also no free trial like foreflight has        Looks cool but

Ive used several different apps in the cockpit and this is the best Provides all charts in a easy acess layout All charts accessible via tabs along right side of each page never more than 2 clicks away MetarTAF notams text format TFRs and airmet and sigmets overlaid on maps both graphic format wpopup text detail are available in flight if downloaded before takeoff no xm or adsb Tap on the enroute chart and all nearby info pops up special use airspace TFR airmetsigmet airport or fix data and metartaf Once you choose an airport DP STAR or approach the app will plot the associated fixes right on the chart most procedures but not all Also includes AFD ability to load personal documents checklists etc and a tab for freehand notes DUAT wx and briefings from within app can be accessed offline during flight Best layout on the market This is the most stable and reliable app Ive used It always works and provides the data I really use in the professional cockpit                 Perfect for the Corporate Jet
