Rimelands: Hammer of Thor

This game I played years ago and loved it then So based on my old feelings I love this game              I had a good time

The double size GUI option in this update is completely botched Regardless of whether you turn it on or off you now get ugly 2x pixellated graphics and a clipped display on the iPad And yet with this and the other bug fixes whatever they may have been the game still doesnt support both landscape orientations which requires only a relatively trivial bit of code to do Its a shame really because this is a nice little game but I cant recommend this version of it at all     Botched Update Avoid It

When is the sequel coming out                 One great game

sickness weakening skill for Assassin doesnt work yet it should make infected enemies double hits converted to normal hit but it doesnt fix it PLZ After update now you can go further after you get THE HAMMER OF THOR to new 2 areas and face 3 unique bosses with 3 unique drop for each class you need to start new game after update so after you beat the final boss the game will take you to the new areas Update even after the latest update sickness weakening skill still doesnt work This company doesnt care about its games     Still buggy

The mechanics of this game are a blast Its a sensational turn based gamelots of RPG customization and even includes a small form of craftingonly thing to make this game better would be a HD version but plays great on my iPad                 Turn based at its best

The latest update makes the game look horrible The hud is blurry and some of the sections at the top are cut off This needs to be fixed     They ruined the game

Holy dick This game is impossible Once you get passed the tutorial every single enemy is AT LEAST twice as powerful as you are I cant imagine what the developers were thinking Theres absolutely no point in making a game this hard     Dont even bother

I didnt really care much for the story nor for the levels Nothing interesting really happens Still it was worth what I paid for it              Looks great but really repetitive

Update What a joke Will never buy from crescent moon games again Updates Retina display looks great The ending is a black screen Fail Update so the saving is fixed but guess what the ending doesnt work Update restarted game and died on the first boss So it thru me back a the beginning of the floor behind a locked door 2nd ruined game Old review Great fun until it screws up I made it to level 7 and cleared 3 places but it wont clear out the first quest to meet granma Now Im stuck and cant do anything or travel anywhere Im not replaying this to get back to where I am now Also the saving is horrible When you load a new area you have to tap to continue and if you tap where the text reads that happens to be where the move backwards arrow is and it sends you back to the travel screen an you have to load it up again Waste of 5     Was Great Fun

Okay visually this game is decent on the iPhone but on the iPad it looks pretty poor The turnbased combat system IS VERY COOL and the crafting and items are creative but the story and general grinding are tedious I do appreciate the challenging fights and strategy is involved My biggest complaint however is the single auto save feature Ive gotten into dungeons twice that you have to complete ie you cant backtrack and if youre too low on potions or outclassed theres not escape this wouldnt be a problem with game with multiple saves where you could just go back a save or two but with the one autosave youre trapped and thus have to start the whole game over Rather ruins a grand adventure           Tried it again but nothing special

I have tried the lite version of this horrible game and to my surprise I find a charge in my account Game shows as FREE Game is bad controls are terrible Only played for like 30 sec and I was done with it This game is not worth a penny     Horrible

Dice rolling scheme takes away from the game and cannot be automated D pad style of movement in 4 directions is original gameboy quality at best     Waste of money

My thoughts pretty much echo those of the other reviewers including the increasing difficulty of the game as you progress but I do have one other point that Id like to add The interface in the iPad version of the game appears to just be scaledup from the iPhone version because the interface elements appear to be too small for an iPad game        Needs balancing

From the usual grind It took me a while to get into it because the dicerolling system is a bit confusing for those of us unfamiliar with tabletop games at least and doesnt seem worth the trouble at first But later in the game it gets really tactical and the advantages are clear Its really cool and different from generic levelupandbash RPGs The skill trees and variety of equipment are good too and provide replay value The game is a bit unforgiving during the learning curve Trying out a variety of skill types at the start went badly for me characters have a hard time in battle unless they specialize immediately and stick with it Enemies dont respawn so there is only just enough exp if you plan well You cant make up for bad choices with a bit of extra hunting Only after one specialty is really solid can one play around at all Likewise dont leave any area without exploring thoroughly and getting all the exp there is There is no going back On the other hand if you plan easiest to stick with one specialty the balance is really nice with enemies neither boring nor frustrating The storyline is good enough Characters arent too fleshed out and sidequests are minimal but the pace is quick enough I didnt get bored There are a few quite good oneliners The engineering system has great potential but I rarely use it By the time I have parts and the blueprint most things are obsolete I would have liked it better if more items had transfer codes and parts were a bit more generous SPOILER ALERT I love that there is an epilogue I havent finished it yet but am really hoping it will provide some closure about what becomes of Gallante                 A Nice Change

I really appreciate the amount of polish everything from the illustrations to the story is very imaginative i like the isometric viewpoint and the turn based DD die gameplay and the steampunk theme To me it feels like a finished and complete rpg experience i like it                 Turn Based Strategy RPG

Great game reminds me of old PC RPGs in a way The dicebased combat is also somewhat reminiscent of dungeon crawl board games like Descent Lots of character customization options and strategic combat The game length is just right as well long enough to dig into the character options but it doesnt overstay its welcome My only complaint is the writing which is mediocre at best and tries to be funny but inspires more eyerolling than laughter The overall story arc is somewhat interesting though and at least gives enough background to give the dungeon crawling some context Fun game lots of replay value                 Excellent

A truly excellent turnbased romp complete with die rolls Simple game mechanics expand into deep strategy without exploding complexity this is a perfect minute mayhem RPG for iOS Pick it up and play for a turn or play until your battery dies A few spellinggrammar errors in the dialogue but overall this does not detract from the punchy lines and decent story No deep LotR plot here but gamers as old as I am remember paying ten times this price for far worse This game will not change your mind about turnbased games but it will make your time spent waiting in lines actually enjoyable                 Excellent turnbased fun

So I said I wasnt gona buy till went on sale but it looked so fin I couldnt help myself I bought it and man was it a blast RAre items the whole deal Beat it very fast though and the 2 vaults after credits cant be completed All in all great game loved the freshness of itstill to short a game for 5 bucks though add more please              Price

It was alittle slow to start but I am really getting into it now The combat is really fun Wish the dungeons had maps And wish the d pad arrows were closer together to make it less awkward to control The new update fixed the bug that made me stuck Yay Have to get back into it again                 Good game so far But buggy

This one should be 5 stars but the ending and the possibility that you can get stuck in certain areas with no hope of winning the battle leaves this well designed game in the frustrated folder Dont get me wrong its a very good game lots of fun But after battling thru many many bad guys you sometimes end up in a dungeon with no way out and your uber character no match for the boss Sad If we had more than one save slot this dungeon dilemma would be solved Tactically you MUST go ranged weapons not magic made a flamethrower from blueprint cool I have tried many characters but the only way to beat the game is to max out your ranged weapons as young magic characters just die to easily making it near impossible to develop a winning Mage character Still worth the price of admission but a lot of folks are going to go feel ripped off with no definitive ending to the game and the do overs because of the lack of save slots Sad but only 4 stars Robert9001              Very Good Game Just not great

I was searching for turn based RPG trying to find something final fantasyesque in a platform choking on action RPGs despite the fact that the interface is never great for that genre Rimelands came up and it is definitely not the game I was looking for but a game I am so glad I found Its more in the DD school of gaming with dungeon crawling and dicerolling It is however delightfully turnbased and offers excellent gameplay a good leveling up system and a great experience The story is great if you compare it to its IOS peers Compared to the world at large its spotty Enjoyable but with plenty of gaps Sometimes you jump from one thing to another with no logical gap or someone will send you somewhere to do something Loki Vault and nothing in particular happens there plus you dont circle back with the person who sent you Still better than its peers The skill tree is great small and manageable but full of desireable skills And those skills along with mana management provide a great strategic challenge going into battles Each conflict is a oneoff as you heal immediately after battle which makes each confrontation exciting as opposed to the long drawn out battle of attrition you get in a long dungeon full of weak enemies Despite the gaps too many useless items jumpiness in an otherwise good story lack of multiple saves despite the inability to backtrack this is an excellent game and a unique breath of fresh air in the cluttered mass of mediocrity one finds in the app store              StandOut RPG

Lives up to most of the hype Reviews around the web are fair Bug in the current version Ive found is shaman spell freeze does not work Might be broken interaction with an accessory my toon is wearing Looking forward to the game being fixed as well as a sequel           Fun but bugged

The game is completely linear You get a quest which opens an area you complete the area to complete the quest get another quest Once you have cleared the area you are not able to visit it again There is no free roam and therefore no ability to level nor find additional gear All potions and gear can only be scavenged When you come across the boss you are not prepared for your game essentially ends You cannot go back and strengthen or change your character in anyway The good news deleting this app frees up space on my device     Fail

This is a great wellbalanced turnbased RPG I dont understand the reviewer who complained about grinding There is technically no grinding in this game enemies disappear permanently once defeated and completed levels are not available for replay So you only have a finite shot at gaining XP and so character upgrade strategy is very important if you want to beat the game and the bonus level after the end credits There isnt a lot of writing but the dialogue is funny in its own way This would have been a very acceptable PS2 game not so long ago its great to have this kind of gameplay on iOS                 Good gameplay

Im not terribly impressed by this game It has all the usual RPG elements but it just seems to miss the mark somehow The inapp help is practically useless for explaining the onscreen buttons and the whole buildingdismantling shenanigans The dice element is unique for iOS RPG but it doesnt add much to the game Lastly the challenge seems minimal since you can perpetually step back from battles and rest to recover Occasionally it locks you into a battle but not often So overall Im just meh on this           Just OK

This is a well made turn based action rpg Game has a unique combat system different skill trees and tons if loot options                 Cool steampunk adventure

Great fun if you like turn based RPGs Runs flawlessly on my iPad 2 Fast load times compared to a lot of iOS RPGs                 Lots of fun
