I like the atmosphere the game creates especially for a card game Images are clear even on the iPhone I will play more games but right now it appears that the game just boils down to matching symbols on cards Plenty of games do that AND require strategy but in Rootwork you never really know what symbols will come up and what you can plan for Some cards let you look at the deck but I dont think its enough I feel more like I win or lose just by getting lucky           Interesting but seems to lack depth
This game has really great art and animation It feels as close as you can get to actually playing a card based game on the iPad The card animations and dealing are a very nice touch The card art and story are very compelling and well executed I was surprised how addictive it actually becomes playing with the different characters and trying to open up achievements Highly recommend                 Wonderful Art Work and Game Design
OKdownloaded this on a whim and its certainly different than other card games The tutorial is nice and it appears to have decent documentation It will take a bit of playing to sort out the strategy and Im curious to see how a bigger story plays into the game At the end of the tutorial though I was left wondering what I had purchased It indicated that it was a demo and that I could only do certain things and couldnt make achievements unless I unlocked everything for 499 I certainly hope this is not the case but havent played long enough to sort it outMaybe someone else can figure it out              Seems interestingBut
Too much of the game is out of your control for it to be fun Save yourself some time and flip a coin heads you win tails you lose Art is excellent however and so is the story        Too much random not enough strategy
This game is incredibly addictive Finding and adopting your own strategy is incredibly fun and challenging and going for the achievements and unlocking new characters and cards is too addicting time flies when youre playing this game                 Addicting beyond belief
I ran across this game via Jayisgames last night and IMO the designers have created something fairly remarkable My first session led to an unexpected allnighter that while not exactly ideal for todays productivity gradually made it clear just how much thought had gone into creating an exquisitely balanced challenge Rootwork is both accessible to new players and fiendish in its ability to keep them hooked on trying to master its subtleties In response to a couple reviews suggesting that the game contains too much luck and not enough strategy I strongly disagree Sure theres some luck involved but theres also a lot more strategy than is immediately apparent For instance when should you match threats with more survival cards than necessary in order to make room for potentially more useful survival cards on the next round When should you allow a threat to capture you because the card that could have matched it will be more useful against a menace that you encountered earlier and will probably encounter again And yes version 101 has a few bugs How could it not However the ones Ive encountered have never caused me to lose any significant amount of gameplay work all have been resolvable with at most a clean startsee the first item of the FAQ if you dont know how to do thisand it looks as though the developer is aware of them and working on them for the next release Put it all together and I couldnt see myself giving Rootwork less than five stars Finally while this review probably already sounds like Im a buddy of someone at Simulated Culture though I swear thats not the case the FAQ is a good read and might just inspire you to check out the blog which in turn offers some fascinating insights into the psychology and evolution of the game                 Unique and dangerously addictive
great game play interesting graphics and not able to get past buggy tutorial     Awesome concept
Update thanks for the update Its too bad this game didnt catch on Maybe it did in total sales but thats not reflected in just 20 odd reviews Anyway its different its clever I still play it and hats off to the developer for his continued support Get this game I am sick of people saying freaking everything is addicting but get this game It reeks polish its fresh some strategy some luck lotsa fun Back to the game                 Interesting Unique Enthralling
This gem is a beautiful incarnation of art Its truly a work of art as well as a game As a card game its a pleasant solitaire distraction But as an experience its a topnotch venture into a beautifully realized world dripping with a unique vibe You really need to get this game to experience its wonder                 Beautiful Haunting Get this game now
Really cool idea its easily understood if you go through the tutorial but the flee button confuses me                 Interesting
Awesome game great concept                 Awesome
Worlds worst tutorial goes on for so long I didnt read any of it and when I finally was able to play on my own I figured out how to play within 3 games The game is fun but jesus christ that tutorial Also the lantern on the main menu that you have to drag to select things can really easily disappear just by tapping t and then you have to restart the app              Scbbbb
