I m disappointed and frustrated with the team at Samsung If you advertise and promote WIFI as a feature and then put poor effort and attention towards the execution it leaves people feeling deceived First I learned that for the Flexwash and Flexdry 9900 models we need to first download the Samsung SmartHome app and register with Samsung then add the washer and dryer as devices Don t go directly to using the Samsung Washer app I was eventually able to get this to work and add our washer on the SmartHome app Second don t follow the directions given by the washer and dryer app if you have the 9900 models Instead of holding the two buttons down simultaneously as the app directs simply press and hold the Smart Control button only for 5 seconds until the display reads AP Third beware that as you are trudging through the bugs in the washer app that the units will automatically switch out of AP mode after about 5 minutes If you are having problems check to make sure that you are still in AP mode Finally we have been unsuccessful at getting our units to work with this app I am able to join the network of the washer and dryer but as many times at I input the password it won t connect the password for this app is different than the one for the SmartHome app The only way that I can connect is using the password from the SmartHome app but the washer and dryer app can t find the units Again hundreds of attempts at connecting using the washer app password and variations with capitalization and such without success Extremely disappointing and frustrating Extremely poor documentation and directions If this is what having a SmartHome is like I ll pass I m considering returning our units and trying the LG models Update 11 25 17 People asked me about our washer and dryer and the WiFi over the holiday I took our Orbi WIFI satellite and placed it next to the washer and dryer It still doesn t work No response from Samsung No help No solutions ZERO Stars Keith777

I was really looking forward to using this app but it would never connect to the washer Maybe this is because the washer requires WPS support which Apple removed from the AirPort Extreme and Im not willing to jump through hoops to downgrade my router I also hated the requirement to create an account and constantly typechoose things that should be remembered There is no software update for the WF455ARG not that I could download it anyway but I hope other washers dont require it not that its going to help me I realize that Samsung was probably trying to be helpful since WPS doesnt require one to type in a potentially long series of characters The manual says may not be connected if the router is not WPScertified It should say will not be connected I contacted support and they told me there is no way to disable the wireless function If like to say more about the app itself but other reviewers seem to have covered the things I wanted to mention since I did try using the app and was able to do some things in an effort to get it connected Has potential but it turned out to just waste a lot of my time So disappointed

This is useless for anything but a trade show demo I could imagine this was a proof of concept but they never shod have released then abandoned it The extra I spent getting the network features on the washer and dryer was money completely wasted When their AWS instance supporting the outside connectivity went down and was unnoticed for days tech supports only answer was to dispatch a repair call with new boards for both the washer and dryer which wouldnt have worked the 3rd party repair shop could read the tcpdump output I sent and didnt bother to come out A few days later they rebooted their AWS windows box and the units amazingly started working again I tell this story to underscore how completely lost and clueless Samsung is with this sort of technology Marketing checklist joke

The first load of laundry I washed in this Samsung came out as dirty as it was when I put it into the machine I reckoned I did something wrong and set a new program to wash the load again Came out with stains in place as before I then read the manual and saw that this machine considers hot a temperature like a warm bath and warm is swimming pool temperature If you put on the heavy duty program the manual says since Washer must reduce energy as first priority more cold water entering the washer No wonder nothing gets clean I immediately contacted the Samsung where I was told they werent responsible as they sold the machine to Karls Appliances and then to Karls where I was told they will not take back a machine that has been used although I showed them one of the twicewashed dirty rag to prove the machine is faulty 2 lessons learned never buying anything Samsung again and never at Karls again Do not buy this awful machine The worst washer

Whoever thought up the washerdryer functionality should be fired I need to pair my phone and washer each wash cycle and 99 of the time I do not get notification of cycle completion I paid 100 more for wifi on my washer and its completely useless Huge disappointment
So its almost 2 years later and there has been no changeimprovement other than to introduce a 2nd app with an alternative way to connect the Smart Home app Neither work Ill know in future to request a money back guarantee anytime a buy a major appliance with smart features Clearly this app wasnt given any user testing as it is so clunky to use its embarrassing Why do I need to pick between Indoor and Outdoor control Surely the app can figure out if Im on the same Wifi network as my appliances and select the appropriate connection method Having to authenticate every time I open the app and choose the outdoor connection method really And having to authenticate separately for the washer and the dryer Please please please go talk to some real users and understand how we want to use this app Is it really too much to ask to have a simple dashboard which shows your registered devices and current status and time remaining Then just tap any individual item to get the more detailed info And why oh why once the cycle is finished and the machine powers off does that also mean that you cant connect to it so if you were away from your wifi network and missed to completion alert you cant double check status Hopefully these misses can be corrected in updates So much potentialwasted and still no improvement
This version of the app did not fix any problems with the bad user interface but now it crashes frequently and has stopped finding my dryer altogether It does not even stay running long enough to provide alerts which is the primary reason I chose this pair of machines This app is not better than nothing Every aspect of it is maddeningly frustrating If they can fix all the User Experience flaws and bugridden problems with it I will happily give it give it five stars Until then Ill recommend not downloading this app and checking on your clothes the old fashioned way It will make you happier than struggling with it Bad app now has crash bugs
I downloaded this app when my dryer was malfunctioning Was pretty excited to have troubleshooting done for me but the code came back that there was nothing wrong After normal troubleshooting found and replaced the thermal fuse that wasnt letting the dryer heat up Basically the smart care portion of this app is worthless meaning any smart care function on products is worthless as well Personally I would trade the frills of this apps connectivity for better product reliability Great concept but

Update 82214 This app update has not fixed any bugs Push notification when laundry is done does not work The need to click an additional button on the machine in order to use the AP is obnoxious If Im already at the machine pushing buttons why wouldnt I initiate the washdry cycle right then Its unbelievable that Samsung has not invested any time to get this right Both the AP and the software on the machine need a complete overhaul This is very disappointing Samsung Please get it right Does not do what its supposed to
We have a large family and everyone has the app installed but only some people can access the washer and dryer Others dont see them and cant access them We thought about using the outdoor control as a solution but it doesnt remember the password only the username Faulty connection
