Satellite Tracker

This app needs a major update to be compatible with iOS 8 Currently it just freezes wont accept any touch screen input and has to be force quit     Please update for iOS 8

Just downloaded it Does nothing but crash on launch Its Free and you get what you pay for All of the good reviews must be from friends of the programmer     Dont waste your time

I have run several satellite tracking programs under Palm iPhonetouch Mac Linux and Windows operating systems I cannot get this one to correctly show orbits of one of the most popular FM amateur satellites It senses my location But gives very wrong results Tried asking the developer a question One Web site for them is not accessible the support site offers nothing at all No forum for inquiries No email contact info for the author I will gladly pay for good apps Ive paid over 230 for 86 apps But with no support and not working as each and every one of the five other programs I use for tracking satellites I cannot support this one I was hoping to leave this problem report on a support forum somewhere This is the only place the developer apparently wants comments     Cannot Get Answers

I like the level of detail provided for the satellite location and trajectory however the user interface is not laid out very well certainly not intuitive It often leaves you guessing where to go next More revisions are needed to make this app better        Interface could be more user friendly

I gave 4 stars because its free otherwise its a 3 One major deficiency is that it wants to use my current location for the satellite track I would really wish that I can manually enter different viewing lat long For different viewing sites              Almost useful

This is a powerful program with a simple and intuitive interface Be sure to go through the help file to see all of the features For example the program is able to discern the elevation angle your device is pointed and show it on the radar screen to help point a Yagi toward the satellite Why anyone would give this free yet highly capable program anything except five stars is beyond me Kudos to the author                 Great app

Actually 0 stars for iOS 83 Opens into a frozen state It worked on my iOS 43 ipod 4g recently though     No go for iOS 83

Used to use this app every week at least to track satellites for ham contact Updated to iPhone 6 and iOS 8 and it no longer works at all Just freezes on the home page Also hasnt been updated for screen size since iPhone 4 I would love to use this app a lot and would even be willing to upgrade to the pay version if the developers would continue to support it but it looks like this series has been abandoned     Doesnt work in iPhone 6

More than 12 hours after it hit the earth somewhere in the pacific this app is still showing UARS in orbit with a 150km altitude Call me cynical but thats not exactly precise     Hmmm Still tracking UARS

This is a good app when it works I recently upgraded from an iPhone 4 to iPhone 6 and the app quit working           Not Compatible with iOS 802

This is a very good app especially given its target audience Im not in that audience but am interested in visually looking for satellites at night The TLE files this app needs give up to date orbital information for the satellites This is necessary as the orbital elements can change often eg when the Shuttle leaves the Space Station to come home By choosing a few satellites of interest such as the ISS International Space Station the Space Shuttle STS theres not always one flying the Hubble Space Telescope etc the app predicts the timing and path across the sky of each satellite This seems to be quite reliable and allowed me to show some friends the bright Shuttle and ISS pass overhead one night The app also has the radio frequency as it is intended to for radio amateurs It works well for visual observations too although you have to be careful in the latter case that the Sun is actually lighting up the satellite while the sky is reasonably dark Hence visual viewing is normally done during twilight hours Humbly submitted some suggestions for future upgrades Use the Compass to allow pointing to the right part of the sky If possible use voice queues to allow pointing to the right part of the sky without having to look at the face of the iPhone Include Iridium flares Allow multiple tracks on one plot Or at least allow paging through each of the selected satellites from the tracking screen without having to return to the list to get to the next track It would also help to put the satellite name on the tracking plot Allow filtering by time Visual observations are generally only useful during twilight There are Web pages such as heavensabovecom that are more sophisticated but an iPhone app is in some senses easier to use              Good for visually viewing satellites too

Loaded the program started it up and it asks To usemy location and I told it okay It then tells me that no TLE files are loaded whatever those are asks me if I want to download them so I say yes After a few minutes it says satellite tracker was unable to download them and I should try again another time Ive re loaded the program 3 times now and this same thing keeps happening with No results guess I wont be using this program also I wish they had not incorrectly spelled satellite     Works

I entered data for two satelites that were visable at the time and the app responded that neither were visable     Worst application I have not worth even for free

This is a great free app for tracking satellites I have had absolutely no trouble with it It is accurate and easy to use I used it this morning to find and watch the International Space Station travel overhead The app tells you exactly when and where it will appear on a simple sky map It is able to download the twoline element set files from the Internet so its always up to date There are other satellite trackers especially for following NASA missions and the ISS in particular but this one is my favorite ISS Lite is good for getting a feel for where the satellite is currently located great graphics and the NASA App has lots of other info about the missions but this app is the best at helping you find a satellite in the sky Highly recommended                 Works well for finding satellites in the sky

Same problem as DuLe22 reported on 7410 the app has stopped working for me It launches then after a few seconds it closes down Previously it had always worked as advertised I enjoyed using it especially for free              Also Stopped Working

121114 Second Review Worked fine except for problems noted below Now that I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 80 and upgraded to 812 app loads and the screen is frozen First review below Found a slight bug When displaying the details for passes after a pass has started the AOS changes from the true AOS which would now be in the past to the AOS of the next pass The LOS is correct This causes the estimated duration of the pass to be zero Back on the plot screen everything is still displayed properly Not a big deal and does not affect the operation of the program Pretty slick protractor built in You can use it to judge the elevation for your handheld antenna or to sight the passin ISS KK5DO     Cool App like the one from days past on Treo

This App works well with my older 2nd gen iPod I have checked its tabular data displayed for ISS with STS Obital Plus vers0123 Tracking program on another computer and this App is very accurate The displayed satellite pass and times and dates are very accurate For ISS Tiangong1 and PhobosGrunt Also It dose not need a wifi connection once Sat data is refreshed and loaded to operate in the field Its very handy for predicting when a sat will be passing nearby It works                 Ozed

I thought this app was doing a good job Predicting passes which helped working the birds Recently the app crashed when updating TLE Support did respond quickly when i sent an email It eventually loaded properly and all is fine in the world It is easy to use and very accurate              TLE files

Initially appeared to worked fine and seemed to have a nice feature set When editing the order of selected satellites it kept crashing FInally it got itself into a state where it crashes on launch every time Rebooting the phone doesnt help Apparently the app has corrupted its data file and crashes on subsequent launch attempts Even if deleting the app and reinstalling would work it likely will require manual reentry of all frequencies and data a major pain Developers web site has NO contact information Considering date of last update of this program it appears that it and its paid version with the same support web site are no longer supported Given this no sale for the paid version and minimum review stars for this free version If support becomes available I am very interested in the paid version since the free app seemed to be very nice as mentioned at the beginning of this review Otherwise no go     NO SUPPORT Crashes On Launch

I use the app for two purposes to communicate through ham radio satellites and to track visible birds when doing star tracking photography In both cases I need to know the direction of satellite relative to me Sometimes I cannot tell which way is North particularly in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night That is why I hope they incorporate a compass function soon              It needs a compass

OK app esp for the free price except that the pass information is always approx two minutes off when compared to another program like Orbitron that is always dead on despite having the same current location information in both programs and current TLEs etc When youre tracking LEOs two minutes is a HUGE amount of time I work around it by mentally adjusting the times it gives but I shouldnt have to           Hmmmm

After downloading the app opened it and tried to get it to look at some satellites but nothing happened     Does Not Work

This app looked good at first The automatic TLE download appeared to work perfectly and I found myself with a huge list of satellites to choose from I was willing to overlook the fact that it doesnt run in landscape mode and isnt well suited to my iPads screen but it not only didnt autodetect my position but it told me no satellites were visible from my location even after I entered it by hand Maybe I just didnt enter the latlon correctly though the app gives no indication of how to specify northsoutheastwest I tried negativepositive numbers but that didnt seem to work     Doesnt work at all

Went to use the app but it only returns to iPod home page Worked fine for months IDK what went wrong        Quit working

Found this very useful for the few ham says that I have used I love watching the ISS But this week I noticed when it wants the download tle data it crashes Downloads the first 1112 parts and then crashes the app It just closes I use iPhone 5 with the latest iOS updates The app has worked great till now I have used this app since I had a iPhone 3G then used an iPhone 4g              Pretty useful Stopped working this week

App stops functioning almost everytime it updates TLEs at 7 out of whatever Have to restart app at least 3 times to get past it        Useful but poor quality

Wont download required files     Doesnt work for me
