It would be better for me if it would allow you to use different pattern companies other than the Big 4 I use mostly independent designers and there is no option to use or add those names           Needs more options

Ive given this app its last try Dont waste your time Youll spend hours inputing your patterns only to have the progrm loose your database I thought having McCalls behind them would give them more ligitamacy but it appears not Plus 899 is way too much for an app that has these kinds of issues     Awful app

I really enjoyed using this app prior to the update Now there is data I can not access I cant save or easily update new items patterns I dont like the new layout I hate the changes were made because it turned a good app bad save your time and money     horrible after upgrade

In principle this app is a great idea Now if only someone would execute the idea properly I too have lost all my data with this upgrade If only I had read the reviews first On the bright side the layout and features of the program are very nice I think however that until the developers get it together anyone like me who pays such a high price for the app is kind of a sucker The price should be a LOT lower given the performance issues and the data issue with this upgrade I also noticeddont know if it was there beforethe option to back up to Dropbox Nice idea but not very practical with all the image files How about some other optionslike Pogoplug that one might not have to pay for     Dont upgrade

Totally awful I spent hours and hours putting in patterns and fabrics The prior version would no longer sync to dropbox so I could not sync to my iphone This version and yes I have ios 7 crashes immediately I have no idea if it imported my stuff or not Cant use it Am hanging in there in the hope of these major bugs being fixed because otherwise a complete waste of my time Do not buy until this happens     DO NOT BUY

There seems to be a category for everything you want to keep track of and the part for keeping track of patterns is very good But for fabrics you have to use the choices in the pull down menu for materials colors very limited choices stores also very limited and there are only two choices for fabric width 45 or 60 And the category area has choices for patterns not fabrics Also the stretch percentage number disappears when I close the window There needs to be some improvement here I like many sewers have quite a stash of fabrics at home and being able to keep it organized in my phone would be very helpful Once this app does everything it aims to do it will be awesome           Can be better

I think this app is great if you so items only from storebrand patterns It does not give you an opportunity to add patterns that you find for purses bags etc and under the material section you cannot add a different material thats in the dropdown list for example Meinel           Sadly disappointed

Was very excited to get this app and spent two days reorganizing and entering my pattern collection Which was over 500 btw I updated then nothing It constantly freezes and now wont even open seriously What exactly was the update for I want a refund dont update or download     Extremely Disappointed

Love the new update All the problems have disappeared It is a well thought out and useful program I actually benefited from the crash and having to input everything again I was able to really reorganize and rethink how I wanted my data to appear I am a professional seamstress and use this program to run my business I travel a lot to clients locations and it is really great that I am able to put together projects on the spot as well as input all of the clients info and measurements and cross reference fabrics trims and patterns Was it a rough go at first yes but the latest upgrade fixed all of the issues I highly recommend this program I think it is well worth the money                 Really Good Program

The ratings appear to be bad because of the inability to keep your file after up grade so i bought anyway Here is what it does Imports Mccall patterns Tracks anything you want once you type it all into one if the folders eg trim thread Here is what it doesnt do Import any thing but mccalls It might import the pattern number and size but you have to type the rest There is a drop down where you can add patterns from companies that it only problem is it doesnt list all of them and there is no option to add the company I sgree with the reviews about fabric choices needing to be in some logical order Also if they dont want to consult with someone that actually sews they should allow user to add fabrics they use So in conclusion its a nice database to track your stuff great if you only use Mccalls labor intensive in this digital age if you dont So for me its ok but think there are several improvements that could make it great and of course since they partnered with mccall never super great 5 star since that appear to make it proprietary with disregard to the user Dont know to many sewers that only use mccall I havent been able to open update Crashes dont know how other people even get it to open Have emailed support no response     Work in progress

I was just starting to like this app but since moving to the iPhone 5S and apparently being updated it simply crashes every single time I try to open it No amount of restart helps Not excited about having to redownload as all my data will be gone but apparently that may have happened anyway Better be another update soon to fix the fixes UPDATE deleted and redownloaded It now seems to work but of course all the data I had is indeed gone Not amused     Totally useless

New version crashes even more than last oneit crashes before it can fully load my pattern collection and it wont stay open long enough for me to review what patterns I have Also landscape view is no longer available Do not purchase until this apps current users report an improvement in performance     Starting To Really Dislike This App

This app has managed to erase my entire database of sewing patterns I was so excited about the ease of use at first But what good is it if it is going to delete all of the data you entered I wish I could get a refund Im very upset     Deleted my entire database

A lot of people are saying that they lost all of their data with the upgrade to 30 but Im wondering if they havent given the app a chance to import all of their data from their 20 app I thought I had lost all of my data as well but as I kept checking the app I saw that it was slowly being imported It took about an hour or so but its all there now The upgrade definitely looks a ton better The graphics actually fit the iPhone screen and do not look distorted I also love the black white color scheme Keeps it clean and modern looking I have not had any problems with the app crashing either Here are the issues Im seeing now at least for me I did have some multiples and triples of fabrics and threads after they transferred overSo I just deleted them I do not like the way they have designed the Lookup Categories You cannot add new major categories You are stuck with their premade ones like Fabric Types and Store Names You also cannot add options for the Lookup Categories when adding a new fabric or thread You have to go all the way out to the main page to add that option for the item you are cataloguing For example I want to add a blue spool of Gutermann threadSo I click add on the thread section and start entering the info for that thread When I get to where I input where I bought that thread and my store choice isnt listed I have to go all the way to the front and add that option then go back to select it and continue cataloguing the thread Very annoying The photo taking part of the program is now taking tall and skinny photos even though the picture taking frame is roughly squareSo you end up getting stuff in the picture you do not want Also very annoying There also isnt a way to edit photos in the app You have to use your camera photo editor and import the picture if you need to edit it The data entry pages do not have titles next to the info boxesjust inside the text boxes so after you have entered info you do not know what that information is for unless its selfevident Example The fabric amount box only allows numbersYou cannot add yards at the end that would give you an idea of what that number is for The good Does not crash as muchAs far as I can tell on my device Looks a ton better Data entry pages autosave nowSo you dont lose any info now The barcode scanner works VERY VERY WELL Especially helpful for logging all of your books I love the new Trim section           Sorely Needed Update But Still Has Flaws

I bought it because its the only app to register patterns But half the time the barcode reader doesnt work It shuts off often Im trying to catalog fabric now and some of the yardage didnt save and some just dont show up on the first page I cant change the width of fabric I cant add a pattern company that they dont list Some patterns they put on multiple times I cant delete some duplicates There are just too many bugs in this app Some things i add with my phone dont show up on iPad and vice versa Wish they would work on it and give good update     Needs much improvement

The last upgrade froze this app I cannot open it and I spent hours entering information into it If you cannot fix it soon I think we are entitled to refunds     H D Sewing doesnt open

Im a little disappointed Too many presets that cant be over ridden I have an extensive collection of vintage patterns and patterns from companies not even listed Since pattern numbers are reused when I put in on old vogue it gives me pics that have nothing to do with my pattern I have tried deleting them but they keep coming back Also fabric selection does not cover sustainable like hemp or bamboo        Not what I expected

This app is a bit of a disappointment Started loading patterns onto it and it CONSTANTLY shuts down Rather frustrating for a 9 app If it hadnt been so expensive I could live with the glitches I feel a bit robbed on this one Do better or make it 0099 Not nearly as fun as I had hoped The upgrade didnt help at all This app is still a headache The app does not connect to mc calls either SIGH           Thought it would be fun

For the price this is a horrible app It crashes deletes information I want money back Dont bother thinking this is your solution this a piece of junk     Horrible app

I can now open the app Most of my entered patterns are gone I do like the upgraded features I will purchase Dropbox storage and hopefully that will protect my data I personally cannot recommend anyone else purchase the app until after I take the time to input my pattern information again and upgrade to the current iOS           Finally seems to be working

After the most recent upgrade February 20th 2014 or so this app is broken for me It will open to the splash screen and appear frozen but if I reselect it from the iPads screen where you close apps it will go on to the pattern page but then freeze again Eventually it will appear as if it had crashed but it simply bounces back to the iPad home screen without actually crashing No way to access my data I am very sad because it was working better after the previous update and I had increased my star rating If it gets fixed I will update again and hopefully be able to restore my more favorable rating As it is right now if your installation isnt broken dont update     Dont upgrade until this is fixed

Agree with Sewcenlisa was working fine then upgraded and now cannot even open the app on both iphone or ipad I have now been dead in the water for over a week It has good potential but for 899 someone needs to do some better testing     Upgrade crashed the app

Ive spent hours loading my patterns into this app I have hundreds of patterns All lost and have to start again Not sure I have heart or trust to load them in again Brilliant concept but totally unreliable     Lost data

I have written the developer a few times He has answered some but not all queries Three times I have had to input all my data again Still I wanted the program to succeed because it is awesome After the last two updates the program was inaccessible to me I asked for help and got no response I finally deleted the program and reinstalled it and it works fine now Soooo I just have to be obsessive about backing up the files and hope the next update doesnt take me out again If youre feeling lucky take a chance on this program because when it works it is indispensable              I fixed it myself

I upgraded from SewingKit to the HD version It looks cleaner and is a bit more user friendly but still buggy I attempted to import my data to the new version only 3 of the fabrics made it over but it made doubles and triples of all my patterns It is not as smooth as it could be and for the price I expected more           I really wanted this app to work

but alastheres so much that needs improvement I dont understand why we cant choose our own color for thread And what exactly is stiped also the photo taking ability is nice but the photo ends up being more of the surrounding area of what you actually took Very few thread brands are supported when trying to enter with the bar code I love being able to keep my patterns and thread catalog with me but for the price of the app I feel as though we are missing out but Im not sure if any of itwill ever be addressed           so good in theory

Have gotten this to work After the crash from update I had to delete the app then reinstall Lost all data and had to redo but that allowed me to evaluate patterns and eliminate some I STRONGLY urge you to do the backup on Dropbox Hopefully that will eliminate lost data in the future I am falling in love with this app again because It allows me to have my pattern inventory with me whatever city I am in and hopefully whatever county I visit Eliminates buying duplicate patterns and allows for buying correct amounts fabric notions trims etc if patten not there I just take a photo of back of pattern if not found by app Now this app is worth the money One question how do I add patterns from independent companies              sewing Kit HD

Its almost fixed Attempting to sync with Dropbox still just causes it to freeze never actually syncing Also is it no longer possible to add pattern companies I would like to be able to use this with independent pattern companies too and that doesnt seem like a big request Just let us edit those        Dropbox sync still doesnt work

Like others have reported when my iPad 4 updated itself to version 30 I lost most of my data Projects I had finished all of my fabrics but 1 all of my data on people but 1 threads but 1 and books but 1 are all gone The patterns did remain even the ones I input by hand that werent in the database I am really disappointed with this release as I had spent DAYS inputting all of is information in to the original App Even then the App had some issues but at least it was usable I am really not clear why they released it in this condition Did the McCallss sponsorship change that I am not sure if I will try again with the App or if I have lost all confidence in it     Upgrade to 30 Causes Loss of Data

I had hoped to use this app to catalog my patterns and fabrics etc so that I know what I have but this app is too limited in what you can enter I entered a bunch of patterns and photos of them manually and now cant even access those Im not sure if there was an update or its just a bug I could see them before even the patterns that can get entered using the UPC code seem not to upload any info about yardage fabric recs etc     Not very useful

I purchased this app a couple of months ago and was never able to make it work I emailed the developer twice and have heard nothing To be fair the second email was just today I read the reviews and it seemed to me that with a 3 star rating it was worth taking a chance It wasnt I wish there was a way to get my money back but since that doesnt seem possible I will just try to warn others     Dont Waste Your Money

Ive been using this nifty program for a whileeven before it was bought out by McCalls The current version has some benefits over the previous versions but there are still quite a few things I wish would be implemented focused on patterns as whats what I primarily use it for Lookups It would be lovely to have lookups for some fields that currently dont offer it Brand if youve got one Project Runway pattern you probably have more Body Type Storage Location and Size would be awesome for example as having to manually type them each time is annoying especially when it comes to size and especially when you have a lot of patterns In the vein of lookups its also hard to scroll through to change the lookup type when youre trying to add a lookup to an existing category The scroll is so limited that you have to do it in bursts which gets annoying Furthermore it would be helpful to make it more apparent where the lookups are to change as the tutorials online dont point it out as far as I could tell I ultimately found them just by hitting every button I could find Images Previously images had loaded when you entered the pattern number then moved out of that field Now they dont seem to load until you save and exit the pattern so you have to go back in to edit them Having them load in the initial entry or adding a linkbutton to load from the applicable website would be great The delete mechanic is also a bit off Right now you hold your finger over the image until a delete option pops up but Ive found it to be unreliable Sometimes itll give me the delete message Sometimes no matter how long I hold my finger over it the delete option wont come up but when I lift my finger itll change the image I was trying to delete to the active thumbnail Id love to be able to just swipe to delete images again I also really really dont care for the flashing that the screen does when the delete message comes up Yardage Information Right now yardage information from nonMcCalls companies drops into Photos It would be great to have the option to move it from Photos into Yardage Details if it cant be scripted to determine it automatically That being said its still a useful app especially now that the worst of the crashing seems to have been resolved The last couple of updates were a nightmare I went months and two updates without being able to even open the app and finally deleted and reinstalled it in a frustrated attempt to resolve my problems I hadnt realized that my database in Dropbox would be deleted at the same time so Im currently in the process of repopulating all of my data a process thats been going on for weeks Im complaining a lot but its still an app I would recommend to sewists especially those with large pattern collections Entering them may be tedious but the organization is superuseful when planning projects and scoping out what to pick up at pattern sales Hopefully improvement will be a continuing process to further enhance its usability           Good but Room for Improvement

I have always had such high hopes for this app I have stuck with it for over a year with glitches freezes restarts etc I amassed over 250 patterns with notes I was VERY excited about the new partnership with McCalls and trusted Vesta when they said the upgrade would be smooth I downloaded the update last night It has yet to complete the first log in I am now afraid that I will have to enter all of my info again and my notes are lost Errrrrr I want to give this app five stars I want it to be worthy of it I WANT IT TO WORK 3614 Once again Ive been bagged by an update I had to reenter ALL of my patterns Everything was fine until this last update I wish I had referred to a few other reviews before doing so Now the app will not open I am extremely frustrated PLEASE fix this app     Beware Upgrade is NOT smooth

Like other people I have lost most of the data with the new update The previous versions were very buggy but at least the data was there Now it is gone I have tried to use this app and its predecessor for several years Today was the last straw Ill figure something else out I am tired of wasting my time and fighting with a bad app     Bad upgrade

iPad version currently wont open Unlike most apps that are for iPhone and iPad the info input doesnt feed from one device to the other it will have to be entered separately into the app on each device VERY inefficient Yardage info for patterns only shows up for Simplicity patterns and then it is a tiny thumbnail that has to be pinched and zoomeddifficult to read on an iPhone This is a very disappointing app and not at all what it promises to be     Disappointing

Disappointed The app didnt sync across my devices What use is it if I need it when Im in a fabric store and info is on my iPad not my phon Fabric choices were very limited Lots of kinds of fabric not available to select No ponte knit No lightweight denim I could go on Categories are very limited No options for crafts quilting holiday home dec doll clothes and more missing At least they could add the category other with a way to add categories Also missing a way to specify zipper length or the size of buttons and how many are needed Lots of kinds of interfacing but not a way to choose the type needed for any pattern How do I know my entries are saved No message to suggest that the save occurred and apparently it only saves to one device Whoever designed the database interface is not a person who sews This app is definitely not worth buying and I regret my purchase It is clunky and takes too much time with very little practical use if a user cant sync the data and have it ready when needed Waste of money     Very limited app Should be free Basically still in beta

I contacted the developer after having problems with app freezing after the update from Feb 20 He assured me that a fix is on its way Just awaiting Apple approval I am really looking forward to that When it works its a great program now              Fix is on the way

Oh my goodness this app is a hot mess just gets worse If you can get it open get to to stay open it will sometimes let you search sometimes not I paid a premium for the HD iPad edition I thought that McCalls partnering with it would bring updates fixes changes but so far its still a buggy mess We want to love this app but please throw some time money at it     A Hot Mess

You will receive a grossly overpriced empty database with no initial functionality The makers of this app rely on you to input EVERYTHING You cannot browse or download patterns even from McCall the sponsors of this app For a price of 899 this is an amazingly brazen rip off     Dontt waste your money

I love this app User interface is clean easy to navigate and intuitive LOTS of options for cataloguing patterns notions fabrics etc Im quite impressed And it seems the issues with past versions have been fixed with the latest update at least for me Definitely recommended One request it would be nice to have the option of backing up to more than just Dropbox ie iCloud etc Still a very good app                 Bugs fixed Great app
