Shanghai Taxi Guide

This App has been a life saver in more than a few situations Its not perfect but it has definitely taken the stress out of getting around Shanghai Quick and easy to use              Very helpful

Ive only had this for a couple of days but it has already proven its worth Its also a great plus to be able to add your own locations No more carrying peices of paper to show the taxi drivers with notes from the translators This is now my most used app                 This is excellent

Needs to be updated more often otherwise not bad Some venues have names in English on the taxi card even though there is a Chinese name This confuses all but the best taxi drivers Developers need to expand venues by sitting down with a copy of Smart Shanghai and a laptop              Update more often

Always updated and saves paper and stress of writing everything down                 Must buy for expats

One of my favorite Apps for traveling in Shanghai Unfortunately the updates of the addresses are not often enough Sometime the same place show up two or three time with wrong missing or different information Mostly annoying favorites get scrambled after each update No point to use this function           Good app if you workaround errors

This is a great App for all foreigners in Shanghai a must have It would deserve 5 stars if it wouldnt be for the following One very useful feature is the custom cards option where you can have your Chinese speaking friend enter the places that you need to go Unfortunately they seem to get lost after updates to the software This happened early in 2012 when all custom cards were gone This time in January 2013 it has been slightly different The cards still appear to be there but contain absolutely wrong information Looks like you end up at random addresses when selecting any of the custom cards Really disappointing        Custom Cards Lost Again

Wow over 1500 restaurants listed alone This is like having a bilingual shanghai yellow pages on my iPhone The added feature of the taxi cards kept the Chinese cabbies happy Could use a location based feature though                 Cool

Not sure how often this is updated But just put in Caliburger as suggested by a friend and it is not there              Add ins

If you dont know Chinese this app will get you where you need to go Has almost all locations that any foreigner would venture to is helpful in recommendations when you cant decide where to eat and has a favorites tab that works just fine Bottom line is it may not be perfect but Ive tried other apps and there isnt one better                 Dont leave home without it

Ive been using this App for several years and I have never had a problem and never gotten lost I dont speak Chinese and this App gives me freedom to travel any where I wish they would update this APP It seems like they havent touched it for at least a year I am relying on Smart Shanghai for more current restaurants and places              Must Have in Shanghai

This app is worth the price My family and I are teachers in Shangahi We use this app a lot to find address for our favorite spots If its not in the taxi guide we can create our own cards Dont miss out if you visiting or living in Shanghai              Invaluable

It doesnt list any of my destinations whether my hotel nor the nightclubs I wanted to go Wasted 10 bucks Btw use google maps intestead copy the adresses at notes and show to taxi driver Or even take a snapshot of your iPhone screen     Dont buy it

A musthave app while living in Shanghai However I would like to see an update as some of the listings for businesses are outofdate newer places not listed others not listed as closed           A lifesaver

This App has helped me out a lot I just wish they would update it more often I highly recommend it              Very Useful

I used it 20 times in two days It is tottaly worth the money It worked every time with the taxi driver                 Must have before u visit shanghai

Its basically a set of cards with Chinese characters for destinations so you can show a taxi driver a very useful function Also has phone numbers hours links etc for the many destinations listed Very pricey at 999 though if you lived here or were on a long term trip here I think it would be invaluable It seems geared more toward expats than tourists tourist attractions are in a submenu off travel info For tourists something like Shining Trips Shanghai Guide would be more useful as that contains maps description of attractions etc              Good for what it does

I live in Shanghai and this app is not updating missing major international hotels that have been in place for more than a year restaurants open for two years the Hong Qiao Train Station high speed train network is not in the app despite being open more than a year etc Great functionality but looks like they bought a one time dowload of data and are not investing it anymore        Info Not Updated

Pretty good app Came in handy during my recent trip to shanghai Its worth the purchase I wish the List organized by catagory then let you browse by catagory once you select a particular neighborhood The address for pudong airport confused my taxi driver Not sure if the confusion is due to the address or my driver              Handy app

Ive used this in lieu of Guanxi but too often I either cant find the listing Im searching for or some of the information listed is incorrect For example I just tried calling the phone number for the Purple Onion and it turns out to be the number for some hotel I had to go to the Smart Shanghai website to get the correct number Listings are not up to date and some listed venues have long closed their doors American Steak Eggs has been gone for almost 2 years seriously guys come on Navigation and searches could be better as well Why isnt there a way to keyword search and not just search by name Interface can be buggy Once youre in search mode you are forced to type something Theres no way to get back to the main options screen wo doing a search It would be SOOOO much better and more accurate if the app were wiki allowing users to upload corrections and helpful advice           Not bad but not great

The coverage is excellent it had every place I searched for including metro stops The taxi card is clear and worked every time I showed it to a cab driver and they generally dont speak a word of english nor do they understand when you butcher pronounciations of places This is a very useful wellconstructed application and I would recommend it highly to anyone traveling to Shanghai                 Worth every penny

I love this app and use it extensively and it has always been accurate I do wish that businesses with multiple locations made sure to list all locations addresses That being said this is the best app of its kind that I have found                 Shanghai resident

hoodhot has created a great app and I use it all the time It has become indispensable to me when navigating cities where I dont speak the language This is why it is so frustrating that many popular locations are missing some may be relatively new andor trendy but others missing are quite old and established While making custom cards is possible the reason people buy the app is to already have the info in the database Please update the app or make a deal with one of the Shanghai lifestyle event websites to use their data Im sure many people would pay an incremental fee for the latest information It is unrealistic for the developer to assume that they can input data once for cities as international and trendy as the ones they feature New hotels restaurants clubs and stores open and close all the time The app has to stay updated to be relevant and useful Isnt that the point of being digital Thank you              Love the App but Please Update Data

Living in shanghai with limited mandarin skills this app allows you to get to most places Bought app when I was just visiting quarterly but now very helpful Newer places might not be listed as quickly but overall very good You can also create your own via a translator Would also recommend guide to Guangzhou on business there monthly                 Great app

You all just cant get it right I really debated about installing the latest up date after having all my custom cards updated from the last update like a dummy I hit update and all my custom cards are gone again It will be much more enjoyable to hit the app delete function along with my 15 other co workers that were cheated out of 995 Dont waste your time doing updates just take peoples money and go to Some nice beach and enjoy the sun every day     Shanghai Taxi

I am so thankful for this aid I usually dont go day without using this guide I like too you can quickly save your favorites in your own contacts Must have for living in Shanghai              Vanessa
