What a kick to know whats entering and exiting San Francisco Bay This is much better than one other I tried I dont know how they deliver this service for next to nothing Not all boats show up only if they send the appropriate signal If they are big civilian and moving they are probably on it I wish tapping on the name of the vessel would trigger a Google search for it It can be a bit balky at times Must have if you watch for big boats and ships

This is an awesome app the equivalent of Flightradar24 for ships Many thanks to the developer for making this app universal I love it

I dont know where they get their data from but Im at the mouth of Mobile Bay staring at 4 huge freighters at sea and none of them show up in the app Actually only 2 ships show up within 200 miles This is useless and I wish I had never bought it Dont Buy It

I am from Aruba top cruise destination in the Caribbean I see no cruise ships on this app And also at any given moment there are between 1020 oil tankers and cargo ships entering or leaving Aruban waters As you may know everything on the island is imported I see none of those ships either The whole caribbean including the gulf of maracaibo Venezuela which is an OPEC rich country is empty What a letdown Ships missing

As a captain of a tugboat on the Alabama coast I have nearly every AIS app available They all have some problems but this one doesnt pick anything up along the gulf coast I wished I would have known before spending 4 dollars for something I cant use Right now its the worst one I have Knowing the areas it covers would have been nice Horrible

waste of time using this give us something we can use to find or ident vessels ie mmsi ssbham callsign name ugh

Does not track all boats in the Santa Barbara Channel Ship finder

I love this app I watch freighters pass by my Lake Huron homes front windows and can see them in the App on a map I can view their names and other info It makes ship watching even better Ship Watching

This is a great app for about 5minutes and then it crashes I am using the iPad Air 2 The free app worked better It seems to be when the track history of a selected vessel is being displayed but its driving me crazy and to the point that I dont want to use this great app Great for 5 minutes

For years I ran a small AIS to see what was in the harbor but now I can see everything anywhere any time from my phone Great App Great App

Being able to see ships around the world as well as the different types and routes they take is so cool When Im relaxing I find myself just scrolling through different countries and coastlines seeing what is being imported and exported its awesome Keep making it better and I will keep buying new updates So interesting

The paid app works very well on my iPad and would be worth the money IF the developer also allowed you access to the paid iPhone app Accordingly its value is halfed as far as I am concerned Good app but developer is a bit greedy

None of the boats I have searched for are ever found or are even visible on the screen when i know for a fact where they are located Waste if money purchasing it App is useless

Paid good money for this app and it doesnt work in Jacksonville most of the time They said they are working on a fix then it will work for a couple of days then it doesnt Currently not working here Doesnt work

Fun on land necessary on the water I bring three iPads along two to use and one spare just in case This app is as simple to use as you could get Not all vessels have AIS and not all vessels have the AIS turned on Naval vessels in particular are not always sending their position Works great

I live on the Chesapeake bay which is one of the busiest waterways in the US Its also home to the largest naval base in the world This app does not cover this area and they should have disclosed which areas they did cover before I purchased this Frankly if they dont cover this area I cant imagine what area they do Rip off for letting me purchase this app wo disclosure I have another app that works beautifully so I know its possiblejust not from this company Worst app on the market

Upgraded to paid version just about time data for Jacksonville fl was dropped Not useful at all Not very good

I live on the great lakes where freighters pass by all of the time I have marveled many a house guest with this app Most have gone ahead and downloaded it for themselves It is great for identifying ships where they have traveled where they are going to their size speed etc Many freighters have pictures displayed on the app Great App

The idea is great The app freezes regularly and the search function is useless They claim they are working on bugs but I have seen no improvement Currently the app is useless Nice idea Rotten app

Just upgraded to the new version and its infinitely better than the last version which I didnt like at all It wasnt the content but rather the unreliability of the version It would freeze up not load and reboot itself without any warning whatsoever This version is much more reliable and all previously mentioned issues appear to have been corrected New version much better

I really enjoy this little app and since we live near a large inland waterway I use Ship Finder all the time to learn a little bit about the commercial and large pleasure craft passing by Havent had occasion to lock in on a specific ship to follow it from departure to destination port but will definitely do so the next time friends or family members take a cruise Handy Informative and Fun

My daughter is on a Royal Caribbean cruise and I wanted to track the ship Cannot do that with this app and would like 399 refund User

We love being able to look up info on ships as the pass by on Puget Sound WA Our home overlooks the sound and when a ship is passing we stop what we are doing to check out where its going speed size and even a photo gallery of that specific ship Very cool Ship watching made fun

App continues to close automatically Many ships are not identified This app is not even close to the quality of flight tracker Not worth the price in current state

Often misses ships known to be in my general area along the Outer Banks Another app seems to have little trouble identifying more if not all of the local traffic and I have added it to my hoard of apps So So

I love following the boats and this would get 5 stars if it didnt crash There are also times there is a large delay in tracking the activity but fun to follow nonetheless Wish it wouldnt crash

I had a wonderful time with this silly little application I live near a seaport and it is wonderful to be able to identify the ships that visit Because of its worldwide nature I can see the ship traffic at the ports near my friends around the world Its like a small hug It lets me see what my friends see Thanks so much for writing and distributing this app Amazing how enjoyable this app is

This app is complete crap If you need a better app that actually works go to Marine Traffic Not even worth one star

App has stopped working on iPhone and iPad with latest update of app and iOS Seeking refund from Apple Its shame because it used to be a useful app No longer works since last update

If you live in Alaska dont waste your money on this app Im on a ship in the Cook Inlet and can see six ships in my vicinity and no ships show up Jim

The app works well and give great information when the ship actually appears on the map We live on Lake Erie and it seems to be about 50 of the ships that go by are listed Hopefully they will keep collecting data The app also crashes a good bit Does not catch a lot

Because Im sure its up to the ship to transmit the tracking signal its hard to keep track of ships for any length of time The free app is just as good for what these tracking apps are allowed to do Dont waste your money Skip the paid app stick with FREE version

Caution Most of the Great Lakes is not covered by this app if you plan to use for these waters check carefully before purchasing In their defense pinkfroot has replied that they will try and add AIS data feeds from the Great Lakes Apart from this caution this app works great The information on AIS vessels is informative and more complete than some competing apps Recommended as long as you verify AIS feeds are complete for your areas of interest Missing Great Lakes Data But Fully Functional

Were staying at a beach house on the Chesapeake Bay and I got the paid version of this app to learn about the big ships we see on the horizon I agree that the free version is unusable and ruined by the ads But the paid version is pretty fun for casual ship watching Sometimes it displays very little information for a particular ship but I think thats more a function of the maritime registration process rather than the app Fun app for casual boat watching

I purchased this today Ive made an honest effort to figure it out as well as to research how it works But its showing me absolutely nothing Im landlocked and trying to follow a particular ship because we have a loved one on it who wanted us to try it So far this app has not shown me a vessel of any kind anywhere When I search by the vessels actual name the app says it cant find any results The app can find the port the ship was docked at today Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania but thinks that said port is devoid of any kind of vessels at the moment Too bad I went for the paid version partly because sometimes ads drive me nuts and partly because I saw the overall rating on the free version was very low Maybe I can get Apple to give me a refund Zero functionality

Save your money doesnt find squat I search for Dutch Harbor it suggests Detroit Had to zoom way out and it shows no ships near Dutch Harbor Not working for me Waste of money

Live on Lake Michigan and fun to track the shipping traffic across the Great Lakes The photos are cool too Works great Great app and fun
