This application is almost perfect It s very useful for learning to use the G1000 and it connects to x plane as well however when connected to x plane the navigational position is not correct Consequently if you track a VOR or GPS airway localizer or glideslope CDI the airplane will not be centered on the course being tracked because he G1000 course guidance the needles in the PFD do not agree with the needles in the x plane navigational equipment The airplane location will actually be off course so you may not see the airport upon arrival at the DH DA or MDA The navigational error can be a serious problem while connected to an online ATC service such as Pilotedge or VatSim The controller will often recommend a course correction while tracking on an airway the only solution is to use the native virtual instruments presented in the flight simulator to navigate hence negating the purpose of the G1000 application The autopilot is severely underdamped when connected to x plane so it s best to use the x plane native autopilot The transponder IDENT does not send the IDENT message to x plane so again you must use the native transponder in x plane to ident And the turn rate indicator is wrong it too does not agree with the x plane native turn coordinator it indicates a full standard rate turn when in fact the plane is performing a half standard rate turn All these errors are observed when hand flying the airplane because the G1000 autopilot is unusable while connected to x plane because it does not implement a properly compensated control loop In summary the G1000 app is good for learning in standalone mode but it performs poorly when connected to x plane due to the navigational position errors and other errors noted above The x plane support needs quite a bit of work Once the developer fixes these issues it will be a near perfect app and warrant investigating the purchase of the hardware bezel             Good Start PilotVince

To get the full benefit of the Simionic apps you ll need both the PFD app and this MFD app This means two iPads I went the full route and got the hardware bezel as well They link up great with X Plane 11 When it works it works beautifully But right when you need it to not fail e g you re twirling the knobs to finish up your rather lengthy flight plan or when you re about to join the final approach course at the end of a long simulated flight the app crashes The good news is the PFD app it s linked to continues to function and you ll most likely land But all of your hard work on the flight plan is gone I think the combo of the PFD and MFD app along with the hardware bezels are fantastic But the crashers have to be fixed if it were to get a higher rating That said I ve gotten pretty good about saving a flight plan and memorizing which approaches need which amount of knob twirling or button pushing It s just annoying as heck when you lose your MFD hence engine info moving map etc at the worst possible times             If only it didn t crash so much Steadfastly

It has some educational merit as far as knowing the menus and what you can find I couldn t get it to link to fsx It appears you need two iPads to link to the PFD perhaps then it ll link to a flight sim I hope they release some fixes to the random crashes also         Nice idea needs work 51gone

This product has absolutely no support for installing and linking to Plane 10 Mac version The website for Simionic has no clear directions on linking the the software to Plane 10 In addition you are supposed to use a XBridge file in the Pluggin file The only direction you can find on installing this is on Youtube by customer FYI still did not work on my system The concept is nice but the product has no support what so ever Highly disappointed and I would go out of my way to not recommend this product     DO NOT PURCHASE Dr. Leigh J Mack

Overall great working G1000 Using ipad4 for MFD crashes constantly Plane loses GPS tracking quite often and have to compensate by direct to initiation Tracks left of ILS runway approach at a couple airports and data base is not always accurate wrong faf s or missing waypoints on ILS approach Pane does not always follow hold entry Before buying any bezel would want this fixed Worth much more if NAV updates available practice on Pilot Edge would be super if Software was fixed and NAV more realistic Don t stop development great potential         MFD buggy Skizie

Very good app for g1000 practice both vfr and IFR The app needs a more updated database but the bigger problem is random crashes When it cashes you lose the entire flight plan argh and need to painstakingly put it in again The app is also a bit sluggish when refreshing screen when any buttons are pressed If you press too many of them zoom in out etc it mostly crashes Once you learn the quirks it works well but could do with stability improvements             Excellent but buggy Dal_Fry

Very helpful as a review tool for using the G1000 in the cockpit Has helped me immensely I only have one iPad so unfortunately I can t use both the MFD and PFD together Would be very cool to be able to load one to my laptop and coordinate the two displays with one iPad Maybe in the future For now I appreciate the capability these apps bring to my training and rehearsals before flight                     Familiarity Mutt14

For a simulator app this one is pretty good it doesn t model every single detail but is about as close as I could expect to get on an iPad and for a great price too Most of the menus and functions work enough to give you an idea so you are not fumbling next time in the plane PFD MFD combo works great too running two iPads I have an iPad2 running the PFD and an iPad mini4 on the MFD which apparently takes a bit more cpu no problems and acts like the real thing Very nice add to my sim setup                     Best g1000 simulator I ve found kharisma6

Like the PFD this works well with xplane The Garmin G1000 MFD is even harder to emulate than the PFD but this is a good effort I had xplane plus this MFD and the associated PFD running with xplane 10 It makes a decent simulator setup You do need two iPads but I was able to get the MFD working fine on an older iPad 2 with IOS5 while the PFD was running on a new iPad Good effort                 Works well with xplane RobertYJ

I was having the same crashing issues and I reached out to the company Their only response is that it doesn t work on the iPad 2 and that they are releasing an update for later versions of iPad to fix the issues This is unacceptable and Apple should be removing this from their store as it clearly says Compatible with iPad in the description Plus I am not buying 2 new iPads to use with my flight sim ZERO STARS     Not compatible with iPad 2 Skydiveguy

Got the PFD and MFD working on two iPads and also linked to X Plane As soon as I select an approach and activate it the MFD crashes Every time I tried it Unfortunately that was the whole reason I purchased to practice approaches outside the plane It did occasionally crash intermittently at other times Also same comment for PFD after you put it in shrink screen mode so that you can see the push buttons at all times it is nearly impossible to get to the settings page again No matter where you tap you can t get that pop up to open this is frustrating when you re trying to relaunch after a crash         Needs some work James in AZ
