Had it playing House of the Rising Sun in no time The ability to save chords with unique fingerings if it doesnt already have them is a plus I set up chords in the order of occurrence for a song so it is easy to play Its kind of like an autoharp And it stays in tune This wont replace a Les Paul but it sure is fun                 Rockin

Makes a musician well almost kinda out of those of us who have been too lazy to practice with the real thing Well worth the relatively few shekels it takes to buy                 Wannabe Canbe In spades

This is a great app You can tell someone put a lot of care and attention into making it I tend to classify music apps depending on whether they sound good or real These instruments sound like the real thing and look beautiful Fantastic job Some things that could improve the latency is not good I feel disconnected from the instrument when there is this kind of delay between strumming and hearing something This is the single biggest issue for me Another big one when I strum a new chord I shouldnt be able to hear the old chord I shouldnt be able to make harmonies with a single string Less important the string animations are distracting Strings vibrate they dont sway A suggested feature audio paste would be amazing As someone who loves making music on the iPad being able to share these realistic sounds with other apps would be a great addition to my arsenal of instruments This app is very good as is Keep doing what youre doing and Im sure it will be perfect With the above issues addressed I would pay a lot more than 499 As it is I call it money well spent              Great app realsounding instruments bad latency

Surprisingly easy to use and with six different instruments the differing sounds is great variety Each instruments sound is digitized with great sound and pitch accuracy All the instruments are quite satisfying What about having the option of automatic arpeggio and user would simply switch chords I just saw that exampled with Apples upcoming Garage Band app Looks quite useful Also while playing I sometimes accidentally touch the editing bar at the top andor the recording bar at the bottom Perhaps add a feature where you can either hide or lock those bars so they dont interrupt the playing Best musical instrument Ive purchased and I have a fair amount Well done How about a retina display update and add a 12 string guitar or bass guitar Hint hint                 Very well made

I really like this app I particularly like the fingering option which allows you to set how each note is played on each string in a chord This allows me to get the most beautiful sounding advanced jazz chords All I have to do is input the number for the fret to use for each string I can even play voicings that would be very difficult or impossible for me to do on a guitar I would really like to see maybe some buttons where you can just press and strum down and then press another button to strum up and maybe some other possible strums I would also like to be able to enter in more chords in a song because some songs have many chords Maybe a feature could be added to link one group of chords to another group of chords I can imagine in the future that this app could be developed into a new kind of electronic musical instrument I really wish I could sing because it is really nice to play those beautiful chords behind a beautiful melody Thanks for such a great program                 Great program

Look I concede that the graphics are good the sound is good and that this application does exactly what it says My question is are you really that hard up to play that you need an iPad instead of a guitar I guess on an airplane sure As an experienced guitar player I got this thinking hey this is cool but it just isnt in my opinion When you need a tennis racquet nothing else will really do Same for guitars Wish I could get my money back        Ehits ok

This app is really worth more what can you get more with 6 You get several instruments multiple editable cords and the sound is good too The reason I gave 4star was lack of strumming pattern that all music apps does including GarageBand Please add some basic strumming pattern with next update or a new apps with strumming pattern Thanks              Great apps

Great concept Would be awesome with some better touch detection and reaction time Ends up being very frustrating when trying to play anything but Mary had a little lamb Watch for this app to improve before spending 5 bucks        6 strings gets 2 stars

Im a beginner ukulele player and this app has helped me tremendously in learning chords and strum patterns when I dont have my uke with me                 Great for learning and practicing strums

Virtual strings and resultant sound has such a slow response that I find this app too frustrating to use iPad user     Slow Response

This app might be fine for people who dont play the guitar but its not for people who actually do A few suggestions to the developers First make a free play mode As it is in this update I can only strum chords or finger notes sometimes see next point that are part of the selected chord Theres no ability to play anything else Try playing Mary Had a Little Lamb using any single string and youll see what I mean Next improve the accuracy of the digitizing interface It seems that the app registers a finger on the fretboard only one in perhaps ten times Thats nowhere near good enough The rest of the time youre left wondering why the app isnt doing anything Until at least these two elements are built in to it give this a pass unless youre looking for a very basic strum along toy app        Needs a free play mode

Well while nothing has reproduced guitars or string instruments perfectly this is pretty darn good Im a recording artist Smite Matter using the iPad exclusively for my published music I own 92 music apps of those I only installed the best and this is one of them Something often overlooked with guitar app is sustain but no so much here The sustain in 6 String is better than OMGuitar The FX are cleaner and dont distort nearly as much Playing cords is incredibly easy and life like Some of the reverb presets sound the same The delay produces unnatural clicks in its higher settings All of the instruments are faithfully reproduced very well Again I say nothing is perfect But this is high quality Its best for playing chords not so much with fingering The UI is laid out nicely with 3 different set ups None really satisfy completely but I can adapt I have been looking for a fairly deep guitar instrument app to use in my music and I believe I have found a real winner here I have to say this is up there as one of the best on the iPad as far as instrument apps go Right along the likes of ThumbJam OMGuitar and the instrument portions of Garage Band Recommended                 How good is this

I use this app with my kids in music therapy Its a great way to get them exposed to different sounds and give them a chance to play a stringed instrument                 Great for music therapy

Touch is not responsive enough to play anything on tempo which makes trying to play frustrating Sound quality is fair at best This is a throwaway     Reject

I have tried a lot of app instruments This is among the best for both sound quality and an absence of latency                 The best of the bunch

Not too simple and not too difficult The strumming takes some practice though to get the touch just right Having a tutor Or sample might help           Almost as Much fun As the real Thing

Using this to practice while traveling works nicely and saves lugging a guitar case                 Good guitar simulation

If I could return this I would ThE app doesnt do much I thout my kid would like it and learn something but the app is neither realistic nor has a good feel        Not worth 6

I am a huge fan of musical instrument apps and I have downloaded a ton of them Six Strings is a fabulous app The variety of instruments is awesome and you are able to customize The chords you want The latest incarnation of this app addressed latency It is very responsive now It truly is an entertaining app and cant say enough about it                 Wow

this app has been super helpful to me recently and I downloaded a TON of apps that were more expensive and less um great Ive been able to program in and play the chords to Jingle Bell Rock while my hubby plays the song on his acoustic guitar note my 4 year old will be performing the tune for her classmates and their parents at a school Holiday show I love that I can switch it up by playing the chords on a banjo or steel drums Seriously maybe real musicians might find it a bit unimpressive but for me its the best I have found and there are several features Ive yet to explore Thanks to the developers Personally I really get a lot of use from 6 Strings Now I can rock all most as well as it does                 A lot of bang and strum for your buck

I have found some great apps for the iPad even some great music apps but Six Strings particularly the guitar instrument takes the award for best app over all Obviously a lot of thought has gone into the design and a lot of expertise has gone into the development Ive gotten some especially great sound using the mixer and other options and plugging into my speaker system OmGuitar and other string instrument apps are nice but none of them come up to the standard this app has set                 I am sooo impressed by this app

I love to listen to someone just pick a guitar real nice and slow Now Im playin my own blues and I sound pretty good Nah for real this is really a cool appI only wish I could really learn how to play a guitar while using this app I Love this app I need a teacher so I can rock this app out                 Cool
