Social Talks

This App is a great idea I wish there was a way to pause it so that I could have the students role play the interaction the correct way and we could talk about it I also there were more scenerios        Great idea

The idea behind this app is good but it needs a lot of updating for me to keep it on my iPad and use it The picture and animation are fine and the voice is clear but there are so many cons with this app The constant repeating of the scenario is distracting A better option would be to have a replay button The timer is also very distracting and needs to be silenced andor have the option to turn it off completely I dont like that it doesnt let the child choose the correct response when they get it wrong and it automatically moves to the next picture I need to be able to discuss the scenario with the child and as the other reviewer stated role play and discuss before moving ahead It should have a next button Last it would be great to have more scenarios but also have the correct and incorrect responses in a scenario Example when the boy wants to ask for a pencil have one question be the appropriate way and then have that same scenario where he asks the wrong way As it is the app isnt going to last long on my iPad I will wait to see if updates are made and if not then it is getting deleted        Good idea needs work

The language is very stilted The voices stop before the mouths stop moving I dont see how any child would want to engage with this app     No good

When using video modeling one should show what the expected behavior looks like not the unexpected After purchasing this I took the tutorial and more time was spent on showing unexpected behavior Dont purchase this app     Terrible app

This game does NOT have a student correct their answer if wrong nor does it tell the student they are wrong If a character models saying something incorrectly it isnt followed by a model of the right way to ask Any modeling of incorrect social behavior should be followed by the correct model so that students can copy the game correctly        No replacement models

The same scenes over over again will be memorized Also it would be better to show socially correct responses for all scenarios and have those scenarios play more often than the incorrect responses that way students will have more exposure to appropriate social responses Lastly asking is this correct Over over again is BORING It would be better to give the child a choice of responses and reward correct responses with a short animated clip of the positive social outcome and no clip for incorrect responses cuz sometimes negative outcomes might be considered funnyentertaining by kids     Boring too predictable

This is a good social app w 10 scenarios for free set One criticism is there doesnt seem to be a place to ask What could he say but guess this would have to be part of more teaching I might use this for typically developing preschool kids who have some social needs              Good social app

Hey this is a fantastic concept developed and presented in an interactive way My 7 yr old son who is on the high end of the spectrum enjoyed playing it on the iPad Do you have another app for developing intermediate and advanced communication skills                 BRILLIANT

I dont know what kind of ABA therapy this developer does I was terribly confused I would hate to see my child attempt to understand the training The bad part is its confusing when they give you an incorrect answer and then a screen pops up that says you say no But after the training are just the social questions These are useable and really anything on the IPAD is attention getting for my students Really one or two time maybe three time use        Training component terrible other good 13 time use

Social Talks is great for students who struggle with responding appropriately in social situations The graphics are clean and uncluttered with the voices easy to listen to Social Talks is designed to help the student learn socially correct responses The game features a boy and girl and an action The narrator will say for example quot to know what she is playing he says quotCan you please give me that gamequot Is he rightChoose yes or noquot The user then chooses yes or no to indicate if the given response was correct When the correct answer is chosen a brief reinforcer is given wrong answers are not corrected but do not get the verbal feedback A score is given at the end This is an nice app to help those on the autism spectrum or having other social delays The one change I would have liked was to have a small button to access settings while one is playing the game              Social Talks
