Milo is back The popular mouse that taught children basic language skills in Speech with Milo: Verbs has returned to focus on prepositions. Speech with Milo: Prepositions was created by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The ...
This app presents a wide variety of prepositions but needs more examples of each preposition since our kids just aren t likely to get a slew of prepositions with single examples This app could be beneficial if kids had to put objects in correct places and or had to choose the correct representation from a field of 2 3 or 4         Not very helpful for slp Mary Lu hu
I love your apps however several of your apps are not working with the latest version of iOS Will you be doing any updates             App updates Jo Ann6
Milo is back again helping young children understand parts of speech I love having a fun and entertaining app that teaches prepositions since it can be a more difficult concept to grasp This app provides cute video demonstrations and phrases describing MANY prepositions to maximize learning The whimsical music and the TaDa s help keep my girls excited I have heard my daughter with speech delay from autism spontaneously use some of these prepositions in real life since using this app especially on the table                     My girls love Milo PorcelaindollOT
This app is lovely and my niece loves it Very easy to navigate and we like the graphic designs as well                     RN Anne Holisticannie
During speech therapy I let the student hold Milo when it s his turn The kids love Milo and they work harder in order to get to hold him We also have Milo act out things in the apps Milo is climbing up                     Use with Milo plush toy for extra fun SLP missjen
Great app As a SLP my students love this app and continue to ask for it I love that they are able to watch the sequence story and then re tell the story Great for expressive language skills                     SLP5 Tmslp60
I have the Milo sequencing app and like it very much This app on the other hand is rather disappointing There should be a receptive setting where you get to place characters items in relation to other items That would make it more complete             Mediocre at best Chickenwris
The developer lacked any description of research base case study discussions or qualitative designs for the app on the company s web site There are clinician and parent reports that the app is great as clinician client evidence There are critiques that the mouse does not stay long enough in the target preposition and this may interfere with the child learning and some targets are confusing The main problem we found The prepositions were not presented in developmental order according to the acquisition The later occurring prepositions were presented first and some of the early occurring prepositions were presented later Is it alphabetical order We were unsure of the developer s criteria for the selection of the prepositions and order presented We did notice that we could control what prepositions were presented by selecting on off for each word This way we could set up the app to present the early occurring ones first Next we realized that the middle occurring prepositions were missing in the app Trials with 2 pre schoolers with language delays six sessions of data were gathered for 2 different students Both native English speakers female ages 3y 6m and 3y 8m in an afternoon Title I pre school in a classroom Intervention occurred during choice time learning centers Child A data Sustained attention average of 4 minutes with Speech with Milo Sustained attention average of 2 5 minutes with picture book containing target prepositions Child B data Sustained attention average of 3 5 minutes with Speech with Milo and sustained attention average of 1 5 minutes with picture book containing target prepositions So far the limited data indicate that there is a higher sustained attention rate for the app compared to the picture book We presented Milo condition first in Child A and second in Child B Both children started imitating the mouse character saying ta da and moving around the room in imitation of his actions No prepositions were produced in Milo condition across 6 sessions but a lot of tadas The children are more in tune to the mouse s voice than the female stimulus voice If Milo were speaking the prepositions I wonder if the children would imitate Of if the tada could be removed that would be helpful Child A was producing put on on for the storybook condition Child B produced no prepositions in the 6 sessions for storybook condition             AppKicker Review App Kickers
It is great for teaching prepositions but he doesn t stay in on spot long enough Other than that my kiddos love the interaction while using the app It has been useful to ask questions after milo has finished moving Thanks for all the Milo apps                 Great app Seadancer
I love this app It serves as a great visual aid when teaching various spatial concepts to my preschoolers I love to watch them when they try to manipulateobjects to match the picture on screen                     Great app Krisssssss123
I bought this app to use in speech language therapy sessions I think it can be confusing for my students because Milo doesn t stay in the position long enough for me to model and have the child say where he is By the time I ask Where is Milo he has moved back to his original position Because of this I don t find it useful for therapy sessions I also don t like that Milo frowns until you touch him             Ok SLPinNC
My speech therapy clients love this app The app is helpful in both introducing the prepositions as well as practicing them The music and animation are wonderful and eye catching for the preschoolers                     SLP in love with Milo Gina M. Glasper
We were recommended the speech with milo apps by our speech therapist for our 2 year old son He loves them They are helping him talk so much more and learn new words I am a teacher also so I recommended them to the SLPs in our district Great app I                     Parent Special needs teacher Kishy32
I m also an SLP and I didn t even bother putting this app in front of my students Here s why 1 I agree with other reviews that the pictures are confusing I also thought Milo was IN the sub not UNDER water 2 Milo does not stay in a consistent place that demonstrates that preposition If you wait until the animation is done for behind the tree then he s not behind the tree anymore I have plenty of students who have long processing times that would need a consistent visual I like that they are animated but in should stay in behind should stay behind etc 3 Graphics are generic and repetitive 4 Finally it s not a great value For 3 you are getting 23 words If you buy the entire Milo series you are looking at over 10 or more depending if you want the Spanish versions For the same amount of money I can get a better value elsewhere     Disappointing in many ways Beth - SLP
This app does not have any real interaction It is more like just watching what Milo does All the child does is tap Milo to make him move It does not challenge the child to move Milo into any positions locations I wish I knew this before I purchased this app     No interaction RobCamDesign
I have three of the Milo apps and they are all fun I use them with my elementary students with autism My only complaint with this app is that the prepositions are not clearly depicted I usually clarify them by also acting them out with objects I love that you can choose which prepositions you use                 Milo is fun iPad SLP
This app is ok for kids who can t read yet but the ABC cues are dead giveaways once the older kids catch on         Ok AFSLP
My autistic son loves this app He will be three and he is very fluent in running apps He even decided to send feedback with nothing in the body and the developer was kind enough to send a reply letting us know what happened The only reason why I did not rate this five stars is because I would love to see more prepositions and to have the app begin where it left off when the app is closed out and opened again My son got bored with it starting at the beginning each time He definitely has his favorites and he is even verbally using the prepositions provided in this app I will be buying more Milo apps for him to play with                 Nice app W0mboCombo
Cute animation would be nice if it had a way to quiz the kiddos and more of a variety of prepositions Over priced for what it is tho             Overpriced Baylorgrad21
The first reason I really like the Milo apps is that they are reasonably priced After seeing speech apps with 20 to 30 dollar price tags I appreciate one that is not trying to rip off SLPs and parents I like the Milo interface and that he moves into the position I think that helps the child understand the concept better I saw that someone did not like the behind video I actually liked it because it showed him going behind The only ones I have not liked are the ones where he is riding on the submarine and the balloon I think for low comprehension kids it would be best for Milo himself to always be the one to be in the position described Lastly I like the flexibility of being able to choose which words to work on Overall great product at a great price Ann SLP                     Thanks for Milo lonestarslp
The child does not have to guess anything This are like flash cards Don t waste your money     I don t like it Linabruja
I use this app with my language impaired children who need help with prepositions My kids love it It s fun and entertaining that they don t even ask me to play a game so that they can take a break from work This app also eliminates me from having to carry tons of supplies as a traveling speech therapist This app is very useful and I love it Please make more olivia co                     Great speech therapy app Mco001
Great for predicting and practicing preps my kiddos love it                 Great app Needel
Speech with Milo is an excellent program I work with speech impaired students in a socially low economic area in South Texas This program has really helped me introduce prepositions in a way that the students seem to get it Milo keeps them entertained and engaged far better than I ever could Thanks                     Speech Language Pathologist Jo-Ed Speech Therapy
The students love Milo The images are fun but some are unclear as Milo may be behind the tree during the video but when you click on the phrase he is standing in front of the tree It would be better if after the video Milo would pause demonstrating the preposition This would help for children who need more response time and who struggle to focus while video is playing             Ok teaching tool Ms. Sullivan
The first picture shows Milo IN a submarine UNDER the water I thought some of the examples they chose were ambiguous Still could be useful and not expensive         Speech with Milo prepositions Amanda Welti
