Speed Names: Contacts, Groups, Email & SMS

This is the worst app I have Tried to add a group and it turned 40 contacts into over 1600 multiple entries It freezes and the support is non existant Its coming off as soon as I can delete all the duplicate contacts     Avoid this app

Just what I was looking for Had a BlackBerry before that you could separate phone numbers by groups was surprised the iPhone couldnt handle such a simple task on its own without having the support of an app This app definitely fills the gap                 Great app

Ive purchased this app solely for the purpose of moving my Exchange contacts from one account to another It does not find any on my iPhone even though my iPhone has them All I get from sources is Contacts 63 items and ExchangeGAL 0 items Ive tried moving one contact to the ExchangeGAL and it disappeared I lost that contact Im disappointed It was a waste of money The previous poster Matt Hanson was right Lucky I was careful to not transfer all like he did and get them erased Buyer beware     Does not work for Exchange contacts

This is the only utility I have found so far that allows me to manage contacts between separate sources iPhoneiCloud Microsoft Exchange Gmail Facebook etc It is fairly basic but for that reason alone it is worth 5 stars I had a problem where when I added contacts via my iPhone they were actually getting added to my business MS Exchange contacts That is how I found this app This app helped me clean up that issue and I have used it for managing contacts ever since                 Multiple Contact Sources

Clicking More in upper left corner crashes the app Its a very useful app it just needs to be cleaned up a little              Crash bug

Is unable to create groups for any of my three accounts 2 of which are gmail Does not recognize names of different accounts ie does not use the description field in the account setup making it nearly impossible to distinguish one account from the others Cannot open up a contact to view the info Stupid Several of the contacts show up as unnamed even though I have put in a company name Cannot distinguish which is which without viewing the contact info Lame app Save your money     Poor

I mistakenly put most of my contacts in my work contacts When I left I realized it would be painstaking to have to reimport everything Also since I was afraid to delete my old exchange account my battery was draining very quickly trying to connect to it all the time 99 cents and a few minutes with your appproblem solved Thank you for giving us functionality the iPhone should have already had                 You saved me

Before using this app you should be sure you have a backup I lost most of my address book on the first try and has to go to a backup to try again Lessons learned Dont add groups for mail services for which the iPhone does not support groups I tried to add a group for Yahoo with this app and moved contacts into the group A short while later the group and all contacts in the group disappeared I was able to successfully create folders in Outlook and in the OSX Contacts apps After sync I was able to move several hundred contacts between the Exchange and local groups as well as Yahoo no groupslists used for Yahoo The interface workflow is a bit sketchy and I doubt that I will use it for the intended purpose of speedy name entry However this app delivers groups management functionality where Apple completely fails to do so in the iPhone contacts app Sometimes I felt like I was cleaning a loaded gun but I attribute this largely to Apples inconsistent support of groups in vendor email connectors The app would benefit from some protections in this area This app saved me DAYS of work so even with issues it easily earns five stars                 Works with caveats

Bought this based upon it being advertised as being able to move contacts from one group contact source such as iPhone gmail account exchange account to another Turns out it cant always do a move Here is the relevant message from the app Move to Exchange Contacts can only be copied to your Exchange server The original contacts that are being copied will be left in tact sic Yes there is an app that can consolidate dups But that doesnt make sense either Seems like someone would figure out how to do a Move the way we would all expect it to work        Move is not really move

I got this to create and rename groups and move contacts to different groups It does the moves just fine but new groups you make are not integrated into the iPhone system For example they do not show up as names in settingscontacts and so to use as a group destination sending a photo you have to enter the group name and hit the plus You cannot just pick it from the list Moving contacts is the only really slick use Nice probably worth 99 cents but only a modest improvement           Could be speedier

Wish I could share contact lists via email with a touch of a few buttons I wanted a separate app for contact because I wanted my personal contacts separate from my work contacts        Not that useful for work

Love the app and well worth the money Was able to easily move my exchange contacts to all on my iPhone contacts in a matter of seconds Saved me tons of time and hassle If you want to move contacts between groups get this app                 Great app for moving contacts

Doesnt recognize existing groups and everything I have is listed as unfiled When I attempt to create a group it fails     Huh

But not their fault Emphasis of description is fast way to enter I dont enter through this pgm BUT it provides a way to group contacts AND the groups show up in the iPhone contacts pgm THAT makes this a free 5 star pgm Thank you to the Speed Name programmers                 Wrong focus of reviewers

While the built in contact manager has gotten better over time it still has significant limitations Speed Names is a much faster way to enter contact information than the builtin contact app but its greatest strength allows you to create groups and organize your contacts into groups and to easily delete multiple contacts when the need arises With iOS 8 Apple still hasnt provided the group and bulk contact management of Speed Names This developer was one of the first to release iPhone apps in 2007 and has consistently maintained and improved them Also check out his other apps particularly Travel Tracker                 Versatile Contact editor

I use Google Sync to manage my contacts which may be the cause of my issue App does not work when I try to create a group to manage an email distribution list I get an error Cannot create group for this source There are other apps that work well for this function so its not worth trying to wait for an update or a fix        Doesnt work for me

This app initially appeared to may be working then created DUPLICATE groups When I deleted the dupes the app deleted the original too Glad I made a backup of the phonebook Since it was acting on cloud data the duplicate groups appeared on ALL my iDevices Backup restored to the cloud and all is back to normal Oh and DELETED this buggy app     Horrible My 1st bad review

6 stars this saves so much time I had 5 contact groups I merged them all into one with in 3 min                 Amazing

It is easy to group the numbers and it interfaces with you iPhone address book              I love it

I bought this to move all my contacts to an Exchange server But there is no select all option and there is no way I am going to select all 1175 contacts individually When I looked at screenshots I assumed the uncheck all button was a toggle It isnt I should have read all the other reviews because it appears there are other problems with moving contacts to Exchange Oh well 099 wasted        1 on lack of Select All

ITS BEEN ALMOST 2 MONTHS SINCE I FIRST WROTE THIS REVIEW ON AUGUST 30TH WHERE IS THE FIX This app used to work great albeit slow when you have a lot of contacts Now it crashes all the time when I start the app press more in the upper left The only thing I use the app for is to categorize contacts that have not been assigned a category group After categorizing I then import the new contact into Daylite Touch Ive deleted reinstalled rebooted to no avail     Used to work

Wow This app LAGGED so badly and had the least intuitive layout ever Upon first launching the app I was met by an add contact screen that I had to back out of Just an awful app that left me feeling robbed Developer Please contact me Something has gone wrong     What a Joke

This app seems to be the bare bones and I guess for 99 cents I shouldnt have expected much more It really is simply a way of getting contacts into groups My MAIN GRIPE however is that when you want to email a group of say 200 people there is no way that I have found to put those names in the Bcc instead of the To place in the email Why on earth would you want to share all of those data with others This seems thoughtless on the programmers part Maybe there is a way to do it and I just havent figured it out I DONT want to manually move all of the names from the To to the Bcc box That defeats the purpose Wish youd upgrade with this feature I wont be able to use this app unless this is done I will not share that info email addresses with others Sorry           Bare bones

Theres an uncheckall button thats much too easy to tap so a careful selection can be trivially wiped out But amazingly theres no checkall button For an app designed to do batch processing of a lot of contacts its UI I a huge letdown           No Select All

Amended review the app is too slow cant use effectively with a lot of contacts Going between screens looking up contacts just too slow iPhone 5s I just purchased the app for the sole purpose of sorting contacts by business Yes it does that fine but when you search for a business it is sooo slow I have 2400 contacts that sort just fine in ios contacts When you search in speed names You can type one letter then it searches and locks the keyboard then you can type another and so on You cant just type the name you want or the first couple of letters for that matter It gets bogged down searching for the letter S before it lets you type another letter Allow the user to type in the name then push a magnifying glass or something I hope it can be fixed        Business contacts

For some reason Apple has not developed the capability for their iPad mail app to send emails to groups This app takes care of that shortfall however developers need to make one more improvement the ability to hide the recipients email addresses and just show the group name in the To line              Nice App

This app worked great prior to ios6 Now however it abruptly stops when touching any of the buttons Deleting the app and reinstalling did not solve the provlem     Seems to have a bug

I havent find another app that do what this one does easily transfers contacts between accounts My family have many google and yahoo accounts and managing contacts from all these accounts was crazy I wanted to consolidate the contacts in few accounts With this app I could do it Great                 Simple Efficient

I have been looking for an app to manage my contact groups for a while Sure there are apps that let you manage groups move contacts between groups and send group emailsSMS messages But this app has one important feature that I have not seen in any other app and that is the ability to see what contacts are not in a group This seems like a simple feature that all contacts apps would have but this is the only one Ive found with that feature                 Finally

So sad I just lost about 90 contacts with this appI asked it to copy them to another source and for some reason it deleted them Theyre nowhere to be found Really bummed     Deleted a bunch of my contacts

Ive used Speed Names for years now Its simply the easiest and fasted way to enter a new contact Thanks                 Not Glam just Great

This is the only program that I could find so far that will let you copy your ipadiphone contacts into exchange Obviously you still need to get a program to erase the duplicates which will also cost you 99 but at least you can have all of your contacts in exchange if you want to                 It lets you copy contacts into Exchange
