A really great game hampered by irritating flaws It runs smoothly most of the time but when it doesn t it s completely unplayable I play on Mini4 with current iOS The stamina interface won t allow you to play as much as you want Its a kick in the gamer s groin but it s pretty much standard in the industry now The developers claim that you can earn more stamina by watching ads but it s completely broken Most of the time I watch an ad then my screen goes dark forcing a reset and I never get the promised stamina reward I ve quit trying And even if it does work you can only watch ads when the game offers them which sometimes occurs when my stamina is nearly full And the game is too stingy with the crystals needed to upgrade your cards It needs more daily quests and achievements and probably a daily login reward But it s still an excellent game if a bit unpolished Definitely a 5 star game if they clean up the rough edges             Flawed but a fine game Blimpety

I have played through a handful of levels several times for more stars the ones I could pass What follows is my discovery so far Interesting gameplay very pretty like the cards Story is a little meh Maybe a little description on the cards would add some color and interesting lore to this world Have different cards interact with each other in some way races alliances It is a little sad that skills only activate in the first round of each stage Also there is no power regulator I liken it to pool sometimes you need that long shot other times a tap will do Playing the level with spikes was rough I liked that you could push the enemy into them but I would invariably go bouncing around and hit others myself Not ideal when starting HP are so low This may be another minor point but I don t really like when the enemy plays by different rules They always get a clean direct shot preloaded with whatever their skill is For example two shield breakers target one of my cards and it s game over I guess there is a beauty in the simplicity of this game The energy system is steep at one point every ten minutes Even beginning stages are costing 3 5 I have 16 max energy at my level and will now wait 2 5 hours to play again I do not see any payback for blowing a stage making me leery to try some of the harder stages available I like that you can occasionally watch a video for five extra energy but it seems random at best Also be careful as there is no overage e g 14 14 does not temporarily become 19 14 There is one daily task maybe more as I progress I accomplish those pretty quick with not an astounding reward I would like to see more tasks to help us in the beginning I do admire the simple tutorial by not insulting our intelligence and allowing us to play right away and learn on our own The regular currency is difficult to accrue the elemental shards to upgrade cards are too rare and premium currency is heretofore unseen I do not understand why one card is 100 gold while you get ten cards for 1000 Is there an advantage to saving up or am I better off just slogging away one card at a time I would like to see a discount for 10 packs say 900 or 950 I have only bought one pack so far out of the superstition that more at once might be a better investment I was rewarded with a rare card along with a slew of other common cards I wish the rarity was more prominently displayed other than guessed at I assume this Spectre of Swamps card is higher because it has a four point star rather than three and slightly better stats I understand the wedges of the stars light up as you upgrade Anyway I like to collect ALL the cards and see them through their evolutions I am hoping there is no ridiculous inventory limit in this game I did sell one duplicate card in an attempt to garner the precious elemental shards for upgrading I understand it may have been a lowly common card but the yield was one lousy underwhelming shard At this rate progress will be glacially SLOW I hope I have the patience So sorry for the lengthy review I do not even write that many or even leave ratings but I would like to see Spells of Genesis thrive and improve Trying to be honest and hopefully devs are listening Thank you for a fun fresh game I promise to increase my rating if it turns out to be a little more wielding that is if I am still playing I tend to turnover games pretty fast Cheers vD                 I want to like this game Juan Pablo of Infamy
