If you only write short blogs or read existing blogs its a great app for anything else its horrible My blog had a multimedia focus so this app really limits my creativity and potential what a bummer Id like to see more capability     Limited capabilities

I like the options this ap gives you with some basic text formatting and such The only problem is that its glitchy and crashes and sometimes saves the wrong stuff or doesnt save piece of the article I would like a undo button and more stable system because its useable but its a hassle sometimes So close to being a great ap but needs polish           Its ok

They fixed a lot of the issues that the previous version of this app had but I wish there was a way to edit the URL text I update my blog mostly from the app but I hate not being able to hide extremely long URLs when I paste them into my post I usually have to save my draft and then use the computer to customize the URL text which delays everything              Great to use onthego wish you could edit URL text

Overall good app I have a problem editing drafts as it sometimes does not let me edit           Problem editing drafts please fix

Editing text is a real pain on iPhone Highlight text or move cursor conflicts with a holdtodelete entire block Suggestion type the contents on the iPhone builtin notes app then copypaste and add visuals in Squarespace blog app If you can make such an app for editing the blog of a site could you also do it for updating contents on web pages        Works despite some issues

My squarespace blog is an audio blog but this app cant even render audio Rather useless     No Audio

This functionality of this app compared to the website seems extremely limited at that is disappointing It does not seem to capture the beauty of the actual website you created nor does it give you access to all the pages you have created on your website Very limited app        Limited

This app is currently unusable for me due to a keyboard bug Half the time the keyboard doesnt appear and when it does typing any text causes the content to jump around on the screen above This makes it impossible to see what is being typed Same issue on iPhone and iPad running iOS 801     Unusable

I have to say Ive never been too terribly impressed with the app but now that iOS 8 is out I think I dislike it On the iPad the keyboard is not set up right and the page jumps upward when you start to type thus hiding the text behind the keyboard itself Cant even read what youre typing Nor does highlighting text bring up cutcopypaste menus anymore Also I wish it were possible to insert multiple photos at once Seems pretty basic but its not currently possible from what I can tell Theres also an issue with going back to edit text Sometimes it doesnt work and its necessary to go back and tap on the post in the side menu to basically refresh the action Its very handy to be able to post on the go but this app needs a lot of work Its being neglected but personally I think it should be a priority        Needs to be updated for iOS 8

You open the app and it ask for your email and password And I just downloaded the app so i didnt know what to do Im trying to create an account but there is no button that says sign up or create account it just says log in So I go to the website on the internet and look at the website It has all of these little side bars and it is asking for options like Viewing the website or about The website just kept talking about the website you cant even sign up on the website or the app It is stupid and pointless I AM SAVING YOUR TIME DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT     What the hell is this

Please for the love of Mike move the Discard Changes button away from the Save Changes button Why on earth are they right next to each other Or implement a Confirm popup before deleting the post Anything Im not a moron Im not even bigfingered But watching my work disappear because of lousy button placement is enough to make me never want to open this app again     Stupid stupid stupid layout

Yeah the app is super simple but that is needed for quality UX in most cases Log idea on app refine on web platform This app serves its purpose perfectly                 Works great for me

Everytime I try to register or even attempt to access the app it crashes Im using a iPhone 6 so Im not sure what the deal is Please fix This is whats making me give this app 1 star     Huge issue

Im not sure why but the interface when writing disallows the standard iOS method of a taphold to move the input text cursor or to select text easily I suppose this is to facilitate moving whole blocks of text with a taphold but thats far less useful than being able to actually correct mistakes and change words As a blogcentric app text should be the primary function then add tools for photovideo But as it stands Ill have to clean up everything on the web before I publish which makes for a bad user experience        Interface Ok

I just downloaded this app despite all the negative reviews figuring that having even basic editing functions for my blog while onthego would be useful to me However no sooner had I downloaded the app and signed in that I realized that the app would essentially be useless to me The first thing I encountered was a warning that the mobile app cannot render spacer blocks and if you edit a post with spacer blocks on the app it will rearrange the layout if your post I use spacer blocks in all my blog posts because I dont like the default margins So this app is essentially useless to me I ended up deleting it     Pretty Much Useless to Me

Id like to be able to use this app as the primary medium for writing my blog but the app doesnt offer full accessibility        This App is Difficult to Use

Beautiful design and all but kept on crashing otherwise was fine           Crashing

An app that is exclusively for typing blogs that doesnt allow landscape rotation This alone makes it tough to use Also no creating new blogs deleting or renaming blogs Hopefully some of these usability items get worked out        No landscape

I love squarespace and the ease of use but this app is seriously hamstrung You cant edit HTML code or any other code blocks Nor does it render the HTML in the large edit window though it does render it in the thumbnail as if to taunt me Every browser ever can render HTML Why not you squarespace WHY NOT YOU     Cant edit code blocks

but I dont see an option to receive notifications when others comment on my blog post I would like to receive a notification through the app and not an email           simple and clean

my blog posts often include lots of photos and links and it is very difficult to edit links and apparently impossible to add captions in this app keep trying squarespace I believe in you        formatting woes

Overall the app is good to add a picture and to create a post on the go I would absolutely love if all the features that are on the website would be able to transfer to the iphone app or even the iPad app It would benefit us bloggers greatly           Improve

I just downloaded the app last night and it keeps telling me my email is wrong so I cant sign in Its totally useless     Crap

This app alone turned me off from updating my Squarespace blog the past year since most of my updates were mobile Just came back to it and very annoyed it hasnt seemed to have been updated to fix any of the problems I encountered previously Does anyone working at Squarespace actually use this app on a daily basis Its very slow unresponsive and just clumsy There is no easy way to embed links in a post or format text The photo picker is extremely basic and annoying to use cant even see a preview of the photo before upload and cant select multiple photos at a time forcing you to upload one at a time and photo uploads to my blog posts fail half the time anyway Im gonna give it one more month since iOS 8 just came out but if there isnt a significant update to this app Im just considering canceling my squarespace account and moving to something like Tumblr Its unfortunate Other appsservices in both interface and utility have seemingly left this blog app in the dust        Do Squarespace employees actually use this app

Squarespace has obviously put all of their efforts toward advertising and appearance and ignored their current users needs Basic additions to this app would make it more than elementary Squarespace needs to step it up or we are all going to switch over to wordpress     Weak

Barely functions as advertised If youre looking for a blogging platform in the go this is not the mobile app for you Bugs are everywhere Sometimes when posting uploaded items will appear out of the intended order Even entry titles will appear below image and text content within the same post Sometimes images dont even upload and a thin gray line will appear instead Sometimes the upload bar to indicate progress doesnt even show up Sometimes it will even duplicate posts and have them appear twice in the site Creating content in the go is essential in todays blogging world and even though Square Space has beautiful templates it wont get you far when their own app wont easily let you post without pulling your hair out     Buggy inconsistent just plain doesnt work

Terrible app for blogging on the go You can upload only one photo at a time and there is no support for gallery blocks Its disappoining because I was looking forward to travel blogging with this app Maybe Wordpress would have been a better option     In need of an upgrade

This app is non responsive When I try to edit blog posts its unresponsive sometimes        Non responsive

I like this app but it would be good to have the ability to change the date and time of a published blog post Totally understandable that this is a new app and new updates and features will be layered in over the next several months and years Keep up the good work              Not a bad start needs more features

If you are a SS user who has avoided their blog app until now this new interface is really an very nice upgrade Id agree with others that it would be nice to include a social push but otherwise very nice              Much improved

Additional functionality and better tools for editing text would be great Its actually a solid app but not quite everything I need it to be on a regular basis           Useful but could be better

This app works perfectly I just tested it with my own website and its flawless If you know how to use the Squarespace blog function on the website then you shouldt have any trouble with it To edit a block of text like on other iOS apps you must first TAP the block of text to change to select it To unselect tap outside the block If nothing is selected you can press hold a block of text or photo to move it around just like you would click and hold a Squarespace block I posted a quick test blog on my site and THIS IS AMAZING the Header 1 2 option for the text in the app syncs up to your global design settings on your site I posted pics posted a video URL and a bunch of text and seconds after uploading I went onto my live site and it was there Im guessing the bad reviews on here are from users who dont really understand how to use Squarespace to begin with I have been designing my site for over a month now and can find nothing wrong with this application Alexander Matthias EUAULTcom Owner                 It Works Perfectly Im In Love

This is a good basic app for simple blog posts I would really like to see this support editing pages too but maybe that would be a separate app too           Good Start

This is a blogging app correct Yet I cant change the style of a paragraph into a header I cant quote anybody because theres no way to create a block quote How about centred alignment Nope cant do that Undo button I have to shake my whole iPad for that Bullets Sorry not an option I have been considering having my iPad as my only writing device on the go Will have to use another app though For now        Disappointing Functionality

Not the best app but its okay when you just need to post quick blogs on the go Wish I could have more editing ability I cant edit if the photos are already in slideshow design etc also would like more editing features for other pages besides the blog page           Its okay

Most people who write a blog want to add a lot of pictures So the fact that they only allow one picture to upload at a time is crazy obnoxious and makes uploading pictures take foreverrrr           Please make this change

Great to have high res support on 6 6plus Will be even better to have more editing choices But as a simple blogging tool it is really good Squarespace PLEASE update your apps more often or you may lose many potential customers Your mobile apps are not that competitive              High resolution support But still lacks features

Increased my rating to 5 stars because wix wordpress strikingly do not offer a solution as integrated and simple I love the new approach Simple clean and intuitive All I would ask for is the ability to have automatic publishing to my social networks That way I dont have to go to Twitter and FB separately to announce that I made a new blog post                 Great App Update

They have added a couple nice features including a text formatting menu That is the good news The app is still missing a huge chunk of the blogarticle creation tools of the website I havent used it enough to see if they have fixed any of the crashing bugs present in the previous version but I have already found two new bugs sometimes text boxes just refuse to allow you to edit them You will be in edit mode and be able to drag blocks around and add new text boxes and type in them but tapping on an existing text box wont bring up a keyboard or insert a cursor sometimes an article will load with blank rectangles instead of photos Better than crashing which is what would likely happen in the previous version But it still makes it impossible to write your article and add captions if you cant see what you are writing about     Two steps forward one or two back

I dont like how you cant upload videos straight from your phone to the blog You need to have your videos on a whole different website to do it and I dont want to do that Make this and its perfect                 Needs New Vid Features

Works for what if does But they really should allow you to use it offline and sync later Find myself on long international flights without wifi wanting to write a lot           Alright Would love an offline mode

The update is broken Every time that I put something into and hit save draft it deletes part or all of my text and often the title I have to copy everything before saving lest I lose it all Then I have to go back into the post and paste it Very poorly done App worked fine before this stability fix        Problems with update

Blog is a solid app for working within Squarespaces sandbox but thats where it stops Squarespace Blog really needs an iOS 8 App Extension so we can create link posts from Safari our newsreaders Newsify and Feedly for example and Twitter clients And dont forget it should bring along the source URL so we dont have to manually paste that This also would allow us to start drafting in our typical apps for storing ideas like Drafts then send the text over to Blog to finish and publish           Decent app but needs more iOS integration

I think the functionality is pretty good with the layout engine although some say audio upload is missing I do notice it has a few bugs though and I look forward to the next bug fix update           Good functionality
