Great idea to give more visibility to something most people dont think about everyday or take the opportunity to go online and find the photos or links I agree with the other reviewer that putting the links in would be a great educational tool The visuals on this are stunning The close ups are spectacular Well worth a dollar but would reach many more people if it were free              Beautiful close ups

This is my first review partly because I downloaded this app off of my iPod Touch and saw it had no reviews After playing around with the app it definetely deserves at least four stars technically but the image quality was so great I deem it five stars Good Work and please make more updates                 Amazingly Well Done

This app is a compilation of publically available videos showing solar activity with acknowledgement of the sources Personally I feel it is well worth the 99 cents because I can show kids what sunspots look like without having to use a computer or a book Well Done I look forward to upgrades              Nice Show Good Demo for Kids

I was totally disappointed to find out that the 3D glasses you need to use are the old style redandblue ones I have glasses left over from seeing the movie Beowulf Maybe I missed a reference to this in the description just assuming that the old style 3D was dead and gone But hello Im using an iPhone for godsakes Its the 21st century people not the 20th Other than that yeah the pics are somewhat interesting The sounds though may as well be static Not really worth my time frankly But it was only a buck afterall     Its redandblue 3D

This app is all static content all available from NASA The one tiny part of this app that has current data has tiny quarter size images of the sun that are not zoomable I was hoping to use this app to watch for sunspot activity for amateur radio but alas this app is a total waste of a dollar and I supported someone making money off of NASAs hard work This app is dirty Save your 1 and go to NASA There is nothing of value here     First app that is TOTALLY not worth 1

This application is stunning I figured out that if you dont see the images pop out of the screen then you are doing it wrong You need to focus your eyes a little bit to get the 3D effects what works for me is to get my eyes a little cross eyed then adjust to normal I can actually see the images pop out                 Spectacular

This is a good app and all but the 3D videos dont look as 3D as suspected If you added stars to give the backround some depth and to give the sun a more 3D effect it would get 5 stars for sure Good app though looking forward to an update and mabey you could add videos of some other stuff that happens out there too like dying stars and stuff Keep up the good work              OK

Like many people I was expecting too much when I purchased this App When this App was initially launched the developer clearly oversold the usefulness of this App Today they have downplayed their App description but the App essentially remains the same If you enjoy astronomy having these NASA videos in one location is convenient All the videos are imbedded in the application so a Wifi or 3G connection is not required for playback The 3D videos have limited appeal as I dont see myself carrying around 3D glasses The App includes detailed text information for each video However it would be great if the developer could add narration to explain what is happening I like the idea of mini documentaries For the videos with sound the developer could provide an option to turn narration on or off However if narration is added the existing sounds should remain in the background Since the videos are short the developer would just need to loop the videos until narration has ended The biggest problem with this App is that once you watch the videos the experience is over and then you just want to delete the App They need to create a reason for this App to stay on my iPod Touch        Needs a reason to stay on my iPod

Whats the big whoop here The sound of the sun Maybeand its great if you just want to hear white noise Otherwise its like listening to paint dry           No big deal

This app has some really nice videos updates are needed though as well as that the sound is amazing but my favorite feature is the current picture of the sun part but you need to be able to save the picture              This app is pretty cool

As a practicing research scientist in the field of Solar Physics yes we really do science with all those awesome movies Im delighted that someone thinks the data are cool enough to put in an App However as all of these data including the movies are freely available to the public via NASA websites like httpsohowwwnascomnasagov and are intended to be so it feels a little disingenuous that this app costs anything at all At least its only a buck I suppose Also it would be nice if the App described some of the science or at least provided links to appropriate websites Sun Twists are called filaments the Close Up shows a lovely sunspot etc This has the opportunity to be highly educational but mostly its just cool movies           Good app but some qualms

shouldnt cost money These videos are free online and this app does nothing educational or add any value to something that is already free     nothing for something

There is a windows sidebar app that shows the sun in all its glory Live as in real time oh and its free Ok the movies of a coupple unique solar events is nice But it gets old Quick Add a live window using the free image movie data which is available On the net and you get 5 stars from me and you make it useful Oh and please ad an alminac feature with sunrise and sunset times Please keep working on it Yaesumofo        Sort of cool

Watching these videos is great They look really cool Problem 1 I dont own 80s style greenred 3D glasses nor do I care to just so I can look at the 3D vids in this app Problem 2 I watched the videos a few times showed them to my friends and now what Well now nothing Itll just sit there for who knows how long until I stumble across someone to whom I can say Hey check this out Then after an anticlimactic barely audible thats cool Ill retire it again How many times can I watch vids that I can pull up on the NASA website when I get that inexplicable jones for snoozy solar videos that I just cant live without The upside Its only a dollar so who cares The time I spent writing this review was worth way more money if calculated against even the time minimum wage would pay So buy it watch it a few times then delete it when youre sick of seeing its unused icon taking up space on your screen Now Im going to go kill some more valuable time by looking at that boring Campfire app that I also bought snore           Uh its okay

This app has potential however after almost 3 years without an upgrade to even address retina graphics or to spade content it is clearly unsupported and not worth much beyond being free and that first captivated use The app needs to be update to have some teaching value by 1 Including content describing the various spectrums used to observe the sun and why they are used 2 Content to describe the hydrodynamics of the sun and how that links to the sound of the sun 3 More content beyond Stereo Example images of the day from solar observatories 4 Update to graphics to address retina displays It is sad to go only part of the way and have an app with little to no educational value I imagine like most people it is a free or small purchase loaded and viewed one time and deleted from iPhones and iPads thereafter        Conceptually lacking and poorly supported

These videos are amazing So what if they are available for free on the NASA website unfortunately we dont ALWAYS have internet access Its great to have access to the cooleducational video for such a great price at the touch of a button My kids LOVE to watch these movies even without 3D glasses Adding additional information narration etc would be a plus but would definitely make the app worth MUCH more than 99 cents All in all I think its a great app for a great price Keep up the good work we look forward to what youll come up with next                 Very Cool Definitely worth a buck

Darn I wished I didnt buy this app Its ok but I think you can look these up anywere but you need something new and it gets boring after you watch it        Ok

Im surprised the dev got away with this The videos are free online and theyre even on YouTube with many others including sound It literally takes longer to download and install this app than it does to load up the same stuff on YouTube dont waste your dollar Save it for one of the really good star map apps out there Seeing as how there is no rating BELOW one star Im stuck giving it that Otherwise it would receive NEGATIVE 5 stars     Wasted dollar
