StoreIt Database Application

For the past couple of updates ALL my records within a single Category have suddenly disappeared and for no apparent reason it suddenly crashes It is not hard to imagine the sometimes catastrophic consequences of losing important data This is simply not good enough and I would be VERY cautious about using this application until these issues have been resolved For this type of application safety in data management must have top priority     Records disappear and it keeps crashing

Would buy books get out to the beach and realize I read them before Now I can check my Book List while at library or store beforehand to make sure Had a little trouble loading my existing book list from Excel but it was my error StoreIt support walked me through it Very helpful                 Perfect for my needs

Actually I liked what I was able to do but just a couple of suggestions One would be to be able to move the fields around or insert them Loved that I could go back in and add a field but sad that I couldnt put it in the order I needed for data entry or display Also noted that phone format didnt display with hyphens for readability so I chgd field back to text Didnt like that fields werent defaulting to caps at beginning for names But definately lots of possibilities here              Not bad 201

Extremely limited app and not worth the money or time to set it up Not worth writing a full report     Very bad

This app is perfect for my needs There are 16 different templates included for various purposes and you can also create your own template from scratch I love the way the fields can be set up there are a multitude of choices depending on your needs But the best thing about this app is that you can upload txt files in tabdelimited format in the case of very large databases For me I set up the format of my database in this app and entered a few records downloaded the txt file opened it in Excel added my 350 records and was able to upload that info back into the app Now I can keep my database with me and add to it on the fly Great product that cant be beat for 199                 LOVE This App

I transitioned from a highly customized database setup using JFile on PalmOS to StoreIt I currently make heavy use of a database with about a dozen fields of different types dates pulldowns freetext etc which I regularly sync up with my computer I wish I could specify complex searches on the fly without creating a view or sync via DropBox or in the future iCloud but the downsides are small compared to having a solid database that just works and does good importexport of data But overall pretty highly recommended              Solid good importexport

It is a db in which you can create variables of text date number etc and store and filter information You can only define 6 fields and then you run out of screen space and cannot scroll down to add another field There are no calculations or export email CSV file capabilities I hope these problems can be addressed in subsequent releases otherwise Im looking for a better solution        OK but limitations

This is exactly the kind of program that I was looking for A lot of the earlier complaints like not making more than 6 fields has been fixed and it crashes way less than before the update I wish there was a way to reorder categories on a created page so that the newest one doesnt stay fixed at the bottom I usually want to put the new category next to the one related to ie shoe color and shoe size or weight and body fat And also databases are supposed to be private things so the opportunity to password protect it would make this app perfect              Way improved since the last update but needs password setting and

Want to build a database tonight Do it I just did I looked at StoreIt templates categories and modified from there Intuitive fullfeatured and it works right now Not all true for HandBase I have used both I like StoreIt by far It works                 Intuitive It works

It did nothing I wanted to do It does nothing more than to store some phone numbers Nothing that you cant do in the built in notes Total waste of 199     Terrible

Another app that says compatible on the iPad but looks like complete crap by cheating using the stupid little 2x circle in the lower right hand corner just gives you a big fuzzy app        Worked great on my iTouch

Its a decent app to keep information like passwords and collections and I appreciate that it has password protection however creating a new database that is not listed in the current templates is time consuming and a bit trial and error The needs work part comes in when making checklists well use the included shopping list template in this example Every item added requires at least four taps item done save and when you need to check an item off the list its another five taps select item edit bought save shopping list Checklists on this app are pretty useless because once you check off an item and return to the list you cant tell which items have been checked off bought just by looking at the list To see the bought items you have to tap on each item and see if the bought check box is marked thats another two taps select item back to items list           Needs work

I would give it more stars if it had better views Id really like to see a tabular view like PilotDB on my Palm Pilot Also editing an entry is very clumsy it takes 6 taps to change a list item and that doesnt include the actual tap to change the list item        Okay basic database app

Once you get the database setup its simple to enter the data on the fly Its perfect for what I need I just wic Sh the dev made an iPad version                 Not as bad as people say

This app is good for very simple lists It only allows two field headers in a given view however so if you have more complex data it can be difficult to manage Also although it allows the user to add photograph fields I found that doing so slowed the app down so much that it became nearly impossible to use        Not great but good for very simple lists

Its a nice app does what it says However as the other poster said you cant add more than 6 fields because the trashdelete icon and tab at the bottom of the screen cover up the add field button when you have more than 6 fields You can scroll up the add field button however it does not stay up it springs back down behind the trachdelete icon and tab not giving you a chance to hit it The delete button needs to be moved Also it would be nice to have subcategories under categories and a field for prices with currency symbols for retail product databases           GUI Flaws Needs more features

I just got this app last night and I am importing my information to it right now If I could make a suggestion of adding a folder feature so that if you have sametitled items they could be in a folder instead of individually listed Other than that great app                 Great App

This DB is not worth the 199 I spent and writing a detailed review on its shortcomings is a waste of time Spend the 499 on Bento and save yourself time and effort trying to make this package work as a real database     Certified DB Developer

This is a veer good database app especially for the price Lots of flexibility Nice search capabilities Add or delete fields Needs an iPad only version but looks pretty good on the pad              Nice app

I like this app Ive downloaded several apps for storing information on collections of various things and they never quite fit how I want to use them With StoreIt I design it so its a perfect fit for my purposes Its easy to use and I love that it remembers what I entered so frequently entered data doesnt have to be retyped every time Add some encryption for the password protection and you get 5 stars from me              Easy to Use

Once I got the hang of it I was on a role creating different lists I was able to eliminate a few apps because of this one So versatile                 Great App for Organizing Stuff

I wanted to make a tally of item check mark cost note with total Only 2are listed and the rest can only be seen by details screen separate screen Not worth it     Disappointing

Solid app for the price I was looking for one app to create multiple logs and lists and this fit the bill for me at a reasonable price Seems that a lot of issues identified in some earlier reviews have been addressed in later versions abilitity to reorder fields limit on number of fields Ive used it to create various logs and have found that it is easy to use with just a little trial and error              Gsan8591

Ive looked at several other offerings in this category and this one so far fits my needs best I like the intuitive way it works creating dbs is easy Deleting dbs categories is easy Ive tried Bento ugh and TapForms and this easily outshines both in its core functionality feature set and ease of use For the price I cant recommend this app strongly enough                 Quick and Easy

the ability to do simple calculations between fields would make this more useful The ability to do a SUM across all entries in a a database would make it worth the app fee     needs work

I need a decent db app that isnt outrageously priced so this seemed to fit It is stable and quick however there are still many refinements necessary It needs password protection Many of the data field types do nothing for example why have a data type for a telephone number if the app isnt going to apply phone number formatting to the data Also only the first entry is listed in nested data ie if I make a contacts category and then add home mobile and email fields only the first field shows in display It would be nice to be able to arrange placement of checkboxes on screen There are many other issues that I hope will be addressed soon This app is stable and the backup feature is nice If you are willing to spend some time you can generally find an acceptable workaround           A good effort but still needs work

Nice app to sort lists and data and to calculate simple totals I wish I could format dates to mmddyy or something that takes less space in the display view instead of September 10 2009 I also think the count and sum display should be in a larger font size so it would be easier to read           Pretty good

Thought it was good till I found out when I change info for my customers it saves it under another customer name Cant keep records well and in oder Waste of time     Screws up my information

Im giving this app a full 5 stars Excellent job I created a category read table for you database gurus that mimicked my Microsoft Access desktop DB I exported the desktop DB to a tab delimited file and imported it via WiFi into StoreIt without a hitch The phone number field when clicked on jumps to the iPhone Phone app and calls the number When I click on an address field it fires up the iPhone Maps app at that address When I click on an email address if fires up the Email app It has a quirk or two nothing noteworthy and room for even more features but for the price and what all it does its exactly what I needed The next DB app closest to this ones functionality starts at 10 times this ones price                 Best inexpensive DB app available
