Well Well I should have smelled a rat when this price was cut so much Most links under help lead to this It looks like nothing was found at this location Maybe try one of the links below or a search No overview or training videos A new version is out and apparently this one has expired Don t be fooled I m going back to Cheetah 3D         I was fooled and don t want others to be ButterBeanBiker

I first used Stratavision in the early 1990s on a MacIIfx I really loved it but eventually hit its limitations and moved on to other 3D programs I have used a lot since then from high end to low end When I saw CXi in the app store for 80 off retail I figured I d try it again thinking it must be a very mature application and could be fun to try a bit of nostalgia too I was very surprised however that 26 years after using Strata s first product this one seems almost like a beta The program has some depth but the user interface is really bare bones and there are a lot of features in other 3D programs that are absent here It also seems a little unstable had a couple of crashes The discounted price seems fair for this program but if I d paid full retail I would have been very dissapointed             OK but does not seem like a mature app Ctx1050

I downloaded several demos of 3D software before finally deciding on Strata Design 3D CXi Of all the ones I tried this was the one I was able to get farthest with in trying to figure out how to get it to do what I wanted While I still have lots to learn I have so far been able to do some simple modeling and even did some animation I have been getting frustrated with the way Adobe Illustrator renders its quasi 3D stuff and this Strata software really does beautiful renders and I am just scratching the surface on that Of course like all 3D software it has some fairly complicated deep or full featured would probably be more positive descriptive words settings for most things so it will take a while to learn what everything does But at least I feel like I have been able to pick up some of the basics fairly fast and can add to that as I need to There are also some helpful tutorials I ve only done one of them so far Looking forward to learning more Update 2 2 16 I finally spent some quality time with this program and I am even more impressed than my initial first impression It renders gorgeous images I also would recommend taking a look at their website and signing up for the Strata 3D University currently 9 99 a month when I signed up which has a lot of video tutorials to learn the program While there is certainly a lot of depth to what you can do with the program you can actually get some pretty good results with just some of the basic tools This program has given me the ability to add 3D to my workflow and the results are stunning                     Great Full Featured 3D Application superstring

Picked this up on sale its a good deal As a modelling application its very good Problem is its crashing all the time on El Capitan on 2012 MacBook Pro Import Subtraction and object actions exporting web format output many commands                 On El Capitan its crashing a lot bcs2010

I ve used this for years and it feels like the same old app but faster The palette management has improved a bit The documentation is lacking I ve been trying to use the bones tool and the guide does little to shed light on it s usage Scouring the web hsan t helped either             lacking tutorials guides martoon

I first used Strata s 3D modeling and renderer in the 1990s So glad to have found it still going strong years later I agree that the UI isn t the best it could be although the feature set is where this application truly shines The online tutorials are well done so this app will appeal to beginners The developers have created a very scalable renderer It s so nice to see software take full advantage of all 8 cores in my Mac Pro Rendering even at very high quality is fast Finally thank you very much for the generous discount Although as someone else wrote tools of this calibur will have a greater cost Don t let that from preventing you from purchasing this product It s worth every penny                     Outstanding IIRick

The tutorials are excellent I imagine six months time to master this 3D graphics app and anyone with the determination to learn has a skill that s good to go on any employment resume I have my own ideas I want to further and I m learning graphics from scratch practicing with this app I found I can tweak certain aspects of a design like right down to the machine language level if so desired yet a simple practice design idea I may want to explore further can be set up with the apps default templates too This is a professional tool to produce excellent 3D graphic designs and animations Solid piece of software I m glad I bought it                     Great app Glad I made the purchase Creator_Kurt

Strata goes back to the early 90s It s always been an easy to use program with an outstanding renderer Being an old school 3D guy and someone who works a lot in 2D vector art Illustrator Strata s modeling is the most intuitive for me If you pull out your hair after 5 minutes with Google Sketchup this might be an app for you The price looks high but it really isn t It s a fact that you ll be spending at least this much to get into any competent 3D tools My main criticism of this app is its dated UI and some less than slick user interactions There are lots of things that are not Mac like i e renaming objects applying an environment from the library etc Once you ve got its quirks learned it s not that big a deal but you shouldn t really have to learn them to begin with So one star off for that but overall this is a great rendering tool which I ve been using to produce some nice looking images in the 2 days since I got it                 Easy modeling tools excellent rendering engine LekkeM
