Very trippy app                 Cool app
I downloaded it this evening All that shows up is some weird blurry picture After about 5 seconds it just shuts off Very dissappointing     Installed and it does not work on ios 4
Ive used many tuners and thought Id try a strobe This is could have been good To begin with as noted its pitch recognition needs work play a E on a guitar and it thinks its a B Also there is scant documentation The company sacrifices helpful instructions and instead tries vainly to appear cool The Pro Mode Manual is one screen explaining what one feature does to change semitones Thats it Hey thanks The help screen states try to read up a bit about strobe tuners on the net sloughing off responsibility and then goes on with attempted cool verbiage Again thanks I put it in Oldmode Auto or Manual and find three discs theres no mention of what any of them indicate How helpful is that I tune to the largest one but I cant find anywhere that explains what the other two discs indicate Apparently the company that markets this app makes games and it seems thats their mindset Click on the Support link on this page Yes thats the level of help youll find from these guys I suggest they hire an adult        Needs work documentation
Im torn about rating this app On one hand it looks absolutely awesome and it has some very interesting features On the other hand it falters in the basics like pitch recognition Im a professional musician and have used a number of software strobe tuners in the past When tuning my cello none have had difficulty in identifying the pitches of the open strings The primary frequency is very clear Yet this app is consistently confused about what note it is getting The A string works but both the D and C strings are always misidentified as G Something isnt working right with the pitch recognition If this is fixed Id happily give the app 5 stars but for now its rather frustrating Yes theres manual mode but that really shouldnt be necessary to use and its a hassle Two more suggestions while im at it the display is rather dark In a brightly lit room it can be a bit hard to see And a landscape mode would be useful When its placed upright on a music stand the mic at the bottom is blocked so id prefer to use it sideways but of course then the display is rotated 90 degrees        Looks very cool but has very poor pitch recognition
I use this on my iPod Touch 4 with the builtin mic The accuracy and visualization are great Thats what matters most to me and makes it worth more than its price I use Oldmode Manual because of two minor flaws First the auto pitch recognition is not as good as other software strobe tuners Second on Promode manual mode its difficult to change the reference pitch to different notes without accidentally adjusting the exact frequency ie other than A440 Also it offers only equal temperament worth noting if youre used to tuners with other temperaments                 Excellent for price only minor flaws
Awesome works just like he said it would Great for guitarists                 Works great
I play the harp and just had it regulated by a professional I was told that this application is the best for tuning I have a few different chromatic tuners that I use but I never thought that a recommendation from a person who fine tunes harps for a living would direct me to a iPhone app                 The Best
